Frost left his cold snowy forest to see what else he could find and learn. He had seen so much ice and snow over the years that it had crept into his heart. Frost was now in a much warmer place with all different new scents he had never smelled before. He looked around at all the trees and things that were there. The plants were all new and he touched them gently wanting to see how they would feel. Some more soft and some weren't so soft. He walked for a long time and was now by a swamp. But he had no clue where he was. So there was a swamp here and yet he had no clue what else was around here. It was so unfamiliar and he had no clue where in the world be was. He stayed calm and calculating as he tried to think about what he could do. There had to be something that he could do. He sat down as he thought.

Drako strolled around some of the large trees that dwelt on the edge of his swamp. They were broad trunked and ancient, a feeling of serenity seemed to flow off them like an aura. A twig snapped. Funny, he was the only one who lived here, much as he wished otherwise, he wanted a family, others to talk to, to share in his wonderful swamplands and the secrets they held within. How the fungus sneaked out of the ground in the spring to lay spoor, how the crocodiles grumbled happily in the swamp. He stepped out of the trees and there he was, another fume. Had he come to answer Drako's lonliness problem?

Frost sat there as he thought and listened to all of the sounds this swamp had. There were some very nice sounds but none of them helped him figure out where he was. His tail swished as he heard a sound that didn't seem to fit in with the other sounds. He wasn't sure what it was but it really didn't fit in there. He frowned as he tried to figure out what it meant. He batted at a leaf that sat there by his paw. He sighed and huffed not in a mood to be lost. He really hated being lost and wished he wasn't lost. He spun as he heard another sound.
He bared his teeth in a snarl and growled. He saw the black fume standing there and kept his teeth bared. He didn't know if this was friend or foe. But if this was an enemy then he would fit and keep himself safe. But if it wasn't then he would relax and not harm anyone.

"Well, someone woke up on the wrong side of the swamp. Got a thorn in your paw stranger?"
"Uhm come a little closer...slowly." Drako's eyes had widened at the grouchy green crocodile slowly sneaking up behind his somewhat snarky guest. "I'm not kidding if you value your life walk forward. Trust me, I'm not here to harm you, and when you start slowly increase your speed to a run."
The croc was creeping closer on its splayed legs. Drako thought that if he went too fast the croc might lunge.
Funny they usually didn't come onto land like that.

Frost looked at the dark fume. "Well someone just snuck up on me so yeah wrong side of the swamp. Nope no thorn in my paw."
He felt something watching him and stilled. He had no clue what it was but he could feel the hungry eyes on him. He looked over at the black fume. He saw the wide eyes and slowly began to walk forward. Being very careful to move slow and not look like prey. "Yes I value my life. I'm not sure if I trust you or not. You've done nothing to show a lack of danger or hostility."
He heard a crunch behind him and walked more then he burst into a sprint and avoided the jaws that tried to snap around him. He ran over to the black fume and winced as a thorn slammed up into his paw. He looked back at the green creature that looked at him as if he where lunch. He growled at it.

"Well. For starters I didn't feed you to the crocodile." Drako smiled happily at him. He may not be the most cheerful but thats okay, he hadn't been dile chow.
"Wilma! You go back to bed, no eating the guests..." At least not yet. If this was an evil fume then she could have at him. "So how did you get lost in the first place? This here swamp is not the most..welcoming place you could have found on your travels. I mean no harm to you if you mean no harm to me. I was just thinking it would be nice to have some company and you appeared out of the shrubbery.

He looked over at the crocodile. "So that's her name?" He yanked the thorn out of his paw and licked the wound clean. "And you'd have to catch me to feed me to the crocodile." He smirked and kept cleaning the wound.
He continued to watch the crocodile. Nope he would not be dinner or any other meal to the crocodile. He looked back at the black fume his hackles still up a bit. He wasn't used to being around others much. "I came down from the snow just to see what else was around. I wanted a change of pace from the cold and snow. And this isn't the worst place I've come across on my travels." He shrugged "Alright well that's good to know."

"Yes Wilma, cause I think shes from the stone age. And at that point I wouldn't have had to catch you, I would have simply let you take your chances with the scaley one. Survival of the most aware and all that. By the way excellent avoidance maneuver."
"Snow..hmm I have heard of snow. We don't really get it here because of the swamp. I hear its rather wet and miserable." He tilted his head. " Oh really? What was the worst place? Was it a desert? Did you have to eat a cactus just to survive?" Hey, this guy was really, really interesitng. He hoped he would stay for a bit more, then Drako could pull all the stories out of him. He did love stories.
"Come have some lunch, I'm sure your hungry."

Frost nodded as he heard the reason for the name. It made sense. He looked at the crocodile more and arched a brow. "That old?" He rolled his eyes at the comment about observing. "I'm used to paying attention for ambush predators. I've got good senses to not get caught by things." He nodded. "Thanks. You need them to stay alive."
He listened to what this black fume had to say about snow. "It's not miserable. I like it a lot. It's cold and fun. It gets wet at times but wet is just fine. I don't think it's miserable." He stood there licking his cut more as he heard all of the questions. "Well you are a very inquisitive little fume. Careful you know what they say about curiosity." He wasn't sure he wanted to talk about his travles with some stranger. "And no I didn't have to eat a cactus." That sounded so silly to him.
He shrugged and carefully put his paw down. "Sure I could eat something."

"I have a few big rats stored up your welcome to have some."
He deflated a bit when the other didn't want to share his stories. Ah well he would just have to get out of the swamp and find his own stories.
"My name is Drako, by the way." He led the fume to his food cache. "The rats in the swamp are plump but clever, have to be with Wilma out there watching. She likes rat too."

Frost tilted his head. That sounded interesting he hadn't had they before and he did want to try it. Maybe they would taste really good. Or maybe they would taste bad. He wasn't sure. "Sounds good. If you are willing to share then I would love to have some. But if you don't want to share I can always go hunting to see what I can catch."
He saw his deflate and felt a twinge of guilt. Maybe he would tell this guy some stories. Maybe. He wasn't sure yet. He didn't know this guy well enough for that. He looked around this swamp. Maybe they could swap stories. That sounded like it would be fair.
"Nice to meet you Drako. I'm Frost." He followed the other fume to the cache of food that there apparently was here. "Plump is always good and clever prey is far more fun to catch that slow dim prey." He chuckled and watched this guy.

"No need to hunt, I would just worry about you out there, you should have seen the gleem in Wilma's eyes. "Yes its quite invigorating hunting here, you never know when you are being hunted yourself.
Drako nudged one of the rats over. "They are the best in the swamp, trust me, I would know." Drako scrunched up his face. "Do not eat the bottomfeeding fish, they taste just like mud. Bleh" He stuck his tongue out.

Frost smiled and chuckled. "Oh? Why would you be worried about a complete stranger?" He walked over and watched the black fume wondering what was up with this guy? He was so strange. "Yeah I've seen all different kinds of things here that you can eat."
He looked down at the rat that was nudged over to him. "Thank you very much." He nodded his head. "Ok I promise to never eat the bottom dwelling fish. That doesn't sound like something I would want to eat." He watched the guy scrunch up his face.

"Well when one is hungry one with try anything, but that blegh. Its not a pleasant dish I tell you."
"So did you leave a pack behind in the snow? A mate? A family? Pardon me if I go too far. I've always wanted a family, but some females don't see the perks of living beside an ancient, grumpy crocodilian. She's not exactly the best welcome mat."
"It does keep other faster predators away though, and she hasn't eaten me yet."

Frost looked over at Drako as he heard that and wrinkled his nose. "No I've been really hungry before but it takes a lot for me to eat something I know tastes bad." He smiled. "I'll stay clear of those fish."
He chuckle and looked over at the dark fume. He sighed and waited for all the questions to be asked. "No I had no pack, no mate, and no family there. All I left behind was my territory and my friend the rabbit." He laughed and nodded his head. "Oh is a girl what you want for a mate? And yeah I can see why some wouldn't want to live here and with that crocodile."
He tilted his head. "Wonder why she hasn't eaten you yet." He winked at the guy to show he was only teasing.
