There once was a kingdom far away. Those who traveled there would tell of some of the most fantastic things, some would speak of the dark tower that they saw if they ventured too far past the castle walls. The one thing that all of the travels spoke of, the ones who returned home that is, was the princess. The princess had so much immense beauty, that the men who saw her were always looking for a second glance. And 'though her hair would change style and her dress would be different, the princess always had a rose of the brightest red. As such, she became known to travelers as Princess Rose. This is the story of that Princess.

Rose was walking through the village market, her guard following her but not too close, he was also a family friend and the village wasn't violent in the first place. She smiled at the people of the kingdom she sees on the daily, them nodding to her in a greeting manner. She spent her gold on things like buying for little girls and boys eyeing toys and for Lady Reds famous peaches sold in the market. The Princess is happy, just bored with life lately. She has a good life but it seems dull while other girls are speaking of balls and kissing men and some even engaged. She's only read about certain things like that. She's content, just bored.

The king had also set out that day. A good king would go to see his people for himself from time to time. He had wished to see with his own eyes that his kingdom was well. When he saw his daughter, the Princess who was known for her roses, he smiled. The king cherished his daughter more than all the gold he had in his palace. Riding up to her, the king greeted his daughter with a smile on his face. "A good day to you beloved daughter" spoke the king from atop his marvelous white horse.

The princes looked up at her father with a genuine smile, handing him a fresh peach. "Your favorite father." She's lucky to be blessed with a nice father, most in the kingdom seem to be dull and the daughters treat them like strangers. "Any upcoming news?" She asked, a frequent question. Every time she asks, she hopes there is news. Sadly, that never happened.

The king graciously accepted the peach from his daughter with a smile. "There is but one bit of news that I have for you, daughter. I received a letter from your eldest sister, it seems as though she has fallen for the prince whom I have sent her to meet. If only it could be so simple to find a man suited for you, my sweet rose of a daughter." Having never been gifted with a son to inherit his throne after he died, the king knew that the kingdom would pass to one of the men who married one of his daughters. As such, he wished to ensure that the kingdom go to the kindest and most gentle of his three daughters, but finding a man who he saw as good enough had proven difficult.

"Oh father, that is great news" she said with a smile, showing off her pearly whites. She secretly wished she was in her sisters shoes. At this point, she didn't know if her father put her on too high of a pedestal or of she really did deserve the sweetest man in the kingdom. "Maybe one day" she told him. Hopefully.

"Worry not, my daughter. If such a man should be worthy of your hand, then I shall find him where ever he may dwell!" The king then continued on his way, for he had many important duties which he needed to attend to. He had not made it very far however, when he heard one of the common folk scream in horror. Turning his horse around, the king saw the figure of a man wearing a black hood. A piece of cloth covered the mans mouth and nose, hair of night covering one eye, leaving only a single, blood red eye exposed for anyone to see. The figure began to move in the direction of his daughter. The king set his horse at a gallop, flying to protect his daughter. At the sounds of hooves though, the figure turned to look at the king, then vanished in a whirl of black smoke. "Daughter, you must hurry back to the castle. I fear that he shall return."

The scream startled the Princess, making her jump. But once she got to see the figure, she froze. She heard what her father said but his voice was slurred in with all the sounds around her; Shuffling of feet, children whining in confusion, horses being spooked. She couldn't move. Her guard swept her up onto his horse and took them back to the castle. She was happy to see it, the exterior was just as pretty as the interior, the garden was her favorite, though her parents always warned her about the forest. She was happy to be safe, yet she was curious of what she had seen. OCC; Do you want to use anime or real pictures?

The man was already within the rose garden when the princess arrived. He stood, hiding in the shadows of the walls, and watched her. "That fool of a king," he spoke to himself "who does he think he is to try to stop me." The man stepped forward so that the princess could see him. "Hello princess." he spoke with a smooth, sinister voice.

The princess was admiring the roses, the blood red and dainty flowers were her favorite of all. The smell and the softness of the pedals. Even the dead ones were beautiful. When she saw the familiar face and heard his voice, she was stuck with fear, dropping a rose, pricking her finger on a thorn. She didn't scream or yell, she tried to give a calm look. "Hello." she responded, hiding the nervousness in her voice.

The man gave a cackle of a laugh. This girl was easy to predict. Anyone could have guessed that she would have returned to the rose garden. The man walked up to the princess and put his hand on her shoulder. Turning to look at the guard who stood frozen in the corner. "I was offended by your king, am I not worthy of his wishes?" At that, a black spiral of smoke surrounded both him and the princess, when it faded, they found themselves in a dimly lit room. "Since it seems that your father deems me as unworthy of taking you to wed, I shall instead make you my captive! Worry not though, princess. I you shall receive your very own tower." The man spoke roughly and shoved her through a door which led to a spiral staircase. "Enjoy," he said mockingly.
