((Okay, since this is a pack RP, I'll be going ahead and starting it, join in as you like.))

As the pack gamma, it was Zion's responsibility to patrol the territory, keeping an eye out for any wolf trespassing onto the pack's territory. For the most part, everything seemed peaceful and quiet, but Zion keeps his ears up and alert, his eyes scanning the area for anything out of the ordinary. The area was mixed with scents, ranging from earthy, to the scent of a deer and other animals, as he padded through the woods. "I'm not really seeing anything around, so maybe I should try my luck at hunting, who knows, maybe I'll find a nice buck to bring back to the pack." Zion said to himself with a chuckle, as he began to track the scent he had picked up, determining that it wasn't very old, maybe a few hours, since it was still strong.

Vanor sees Zion begin to track down a deer that he can see several leagues ahead of him. He decides to block the deer's escape route making it easier for Zion to bring it down. Vanor move silently and swiftly forward, keeping himself down wind from the deer. Then slowly moves himself in front of the deer's escape route without alerting it. He then waits for Zion to make his move.

Alley had been out causally patrolling the territory. As beta she needed to make sure she had the lay of the land down and knew it all like the back of her paw for when she may become alpha some day. Rina's howl struck her attention and she threw her head back, letting her howl ring out in response. Turning she began a brisk jog back to the den, her paws barely making a sound as they hit the ground. Jogging through the last bit of trees Alley made her way over to the den, dipping her head in both respect and greeting to her alpha female. "lovely day we're having isn't it??" she mused finding a place to lay a few feet away from rina, not wanting to invade her space, yet being a close enough distance for a decent conversation.

Alley chuckled. She liked a good hunt every now and then. Though it didn't surprise her that all the guys were out hunting. Looking at rina she sighed...rina was so fortunate, she was alpha and she had a pack and could easily get a mate that loved and cared about her...of course the pack cared about alley herself but as far as a mate went alley didn't have one...she was far to quiet to have spoken to any of the males long enough to interest any of them. Not like she would have interested them anyway, she was beta and her quietness was probably mistaken for her being stuck up...yes, she was a lost cause when it came to getting a mate.

Zion nodded at Vanor, shaking out his fur, before pointing his muzzle to the sky and howling in response to Rina's, he then howled again, but this time to signal they kill they just made. "I can take it back myself, you can go back to the den, thanks for the help Vanor." Zion told his fellow pack mate, then took hold of the kill, dragging it back to the den, which wouldn't take very long, since he had the strength to easily bring it home.

Alley's skin burned under her fur. She had all but forgotten about the link. However her alphas words comferted her and she smiled. Zion's second howl rang out and her ears perked up. He had made a kill. That was good, the pack was far from starving but she knew she wasn't the only one who could use a good meal. Rina had in fact made a good point though, new wolfs joined all the time, maybe she would find 'the one' or maybe he was already in the pack and she just hadn't taken the time to talk much to him cause she was so quiet and ,dare she say, shy.

Alley noted Vanor slip back to the den. He was like that a lot. Quite, away from the pack. In fact she couldn't recall hearing him speak, ever. Standing she stretched, her blackish brown fur momentarily fluffing up, before flattening back down when she hopped off of the rock she had been laying on with Rina. Taking a deep breath she padded slowly over to where Vanor sat. 'Hi' she said sheepishly through the pack link, sitting a few feet away from him, her green eyes focused on everything but him. She was beta she needed to be able to speak with the pack in confidence, she needed to get over her shyness.
