● ◯ The Village of Red Wolf ◯ ●
Long ago a young girl was sent to visit her grandmother who lived in a cabin deep in the woods. The distance was far and traversed through the most dangerous parts of the forest, but the girl made the journey regardless. Night fell on her way, but she pressed on, still hours away from her grandmothers house, but regretting not leaving earlier for her destination. Along the way she kept hearing strange noises from the bushed beside the path, rustling and the occasional growl, all of which made her run for a ways or simply walk faster. By the time she reached her grandmothers house, it was late into the night and she was very tired. Upon entering the home, she began to look for her grandmother, but she didn't find anyone, only signs of a possible struggle. As the girl inspected the house, a creature crept up behind her. In one gulp, the creature swallowed her whole. The girl screamed loud enough in the act that a nearby woodsman, out in the early morning to begin working, heard her. The woodsman came running only to find a huge wolf happily digesting the girl and her grandmother. Using his ax, the woodsman cut the wolf open and removed the girl before she died. Sadly, it was too late for the girls grandmother, as she had been eaten hours before and the process had twisted her frail body.
The girl and the woodsman decided that such a dangerous creature shouldn't be allowed to rot, lest it heal and begin walking once more. The two filled the creatures stomach with large rocks, sewed it back up, and sank it to the bottom of a nearby lake, to ensure that it couldn't hurt anyone anymore. The girl moved into the old cabin in the woods, and soon the woodsman followed, building a house beside it to ensure her safety. It wasn't long before more people flocked to the area and a village was formed. The girl and the woodsman rebuilt the cabin, turning it into a large manor in the center of the village.
Ever since then, the village has flourished at the hands of the Rehd Family, the descendants of the girl and the woodsman, as a place to find talismans, totems, and other superstitious things. Rumor has it, though, the abnormally large wolf that attacked the girl and her grandmother wasn't the only one. According to sightings just outside of the village, there are many more, and they're not the only things out there.
