If any of you had read the latest guild announcement, you'll know why this meeting is called for everyone.

For those of you who haven't read it yet, it seems that some of us have an issue reguarding there being more FTM's in this guild than others. This issue honestly strikes a nerve in me as a captain, but I'm willing to listen to "all" of your issues or opinions reguarding anything in this guild. That way I can get a better understanding from where all of your comfort zones are and work things out.

Though it shouldn't have to be that way because this a diversed group. We just have to deal with eachother.
PostPosted: Tue Jun 24, 2014 5:07 pm

I'm confused. why would anyone in a guild like this have anything against FTM? confused

I don't always see eye to eye with TG folks, but I respect the Transcommunity as much as I can. I have a considerable number of Trans friends, and even a MTF ex girlfriend. I'm still very much in love with her.

my own differences from the norm are a good basis for me to remember what it feels like to be ostrasized for not fitting in. I think that anyone else who doesn't see it that way should be ashamed of themselves.

as for my own absence from guild activity, I apologize. I've been very busy, and don't have my own computer anymore. my limited time online is on public terminals.

I wouldn't say they're "Against" FtM's, more like uncomfortable about there being a lot? But that's still not an excuse in my eyes.
And you're absence is understandable. Reason why we haven't heard a peep out of so many people is because of school or work.

I'll say right now, I'll have a problem with anyone bullying anyone.

Bullying in this guild is intolerable. If it was unintentional, then it goes off as a warning. I mean seriously, it's a diversed guild. You're going to encounter everyone.

I haven't been present because my work is incredibly physically demanding (to the point where I'm always exhausted), and it basically ensures that I don't get to see a screen for very extended periods of time. When I do, I realistically just don't have the time to check this.

I don't have any concerns about the MTF-FTM ratio, honestly. And I think people here are pretty great.

I'd like to bring up here that there is an issue in lots of places with AFAB trans and non-binary folk outnumbering AMABs. Some people are more outspoken against it by others but it's something I see coming up across the board. I think there's some stigma against AFAB trans and non-binary folks, especially the younger ones, where a lot of the trans community thinks they're 'pretending' not to be cis because it's the newest fad? (That in itself is an issue but that's for a different meeting, I think.)

i don't see the big issue here. so someone doesn't feel comfy with too many of one thing it's their right not to. i'm sure they just wanted to say they were lonely and felt out numbered. it's hard to find people you have things in common with when your one in few in that area. we are all in titled to our onions. honestly if someone doesn't like what someone said and it wasn't aimed at them in a hurtful manner then ignore it. this community really doesn't need internet drama come on people. no one here will see eye to eye because frankly we are all different and thats what makes it great mkay. truth be told s**t happens we move on and grow. so yeah.....

no excuse. words hurt. I for one won't tolerate it, and I won't let anyone get away with making excuses for it. sure, they have a right to say it. but to use that right means to accept responsibility for the consequences. if what you say hurt someone, that's on you.

then there isn't much hope for the human race no? it's all how ya take it. all the person said was that there were alot more ftm then others here and they are right but it's not a bad thing nor do i see how it's offensive they were just pointing out the obvious and the fact they'd probably like more of people who share their pain no? i'm not saying if some one were to say something like "being ___ is wrong." then yeah it dose hurt but it's only typed words but they still should be warned i agree with you on that but thats not what this was it was a harmless "hey i feel kinda alone because ____.". but i have yet to see anyone slander anyone everyone here seems to get along and in fact we do need more people. but i do see what your saying and your right because again that's your opinion and no one is really wrong. =) that was kinda my point the words said were not meant to hurt but point out that there are more of one group then the others. people make mistakes and have problems finding words i know i do. but really all i can say is take things said with a grain of salt and try to be optimistic.

I do hope you're right. I personally didn't see the case. but my understanding coming into this meeting is that a number of people expressed discontent that there were alot of MTF Transfolk in this guild. and whether they meant to be offensive or not, it sounds like they implied some sort of unfair representation of, or discomfort with MTF people.

I'm not an optimist. nor a pessimist. nor a realist. I'm an cynical idealist.

i do believe it was with FtM but i read the thread it was in and it's completely harmless. she was just sad there weren't more MtF's and i don't blame her. the guild is lacking in lager numbers of all people but it can't be helped due to how many people are on the site ect.
i'll try to see things from your point of view then =). i know it can be hard to understand how others see things so i will try my best.

I'm certainly no common anomaly, either. I'm like a needle in a haystack. but I personally feel that the nature of this guild is beneficial to all of us, and is a sort of home for us, even if we don't find others exactly like us. we have one thing in common -- we're pretty much all non-binary folks.

AFAB and AMAB are 'assigned female at birth' and 'assigned male at birth' respectively.
