Okay people, since Witches and Warlocks can be a lot of different things I thought It would be cool to list a few different things that Witches can do and what their limitations would be. There can be exceptions to things but this will be a rough guide so people don't go over board with their abilities.

Witch, Warlock, Wizard & Mage Profile Guide Lines!

Origins of all

Since the beginning magic has been bestowed and passed down through blood lines. Spells and potions have been given where chosen and needed. Upon birth [] are bestowed a range of active abilities. Usually being they're only active power. Among which are telekinesis, vanishing skills, and element related magic. As they grow they're powers, spells and potions progress along with them.

Witches usually follow one of two laws: The threefold law Some witches believe that anything they send out comes back to them times three. For this reason many witches avoid curses or bindings. This is not an official Wiccan law, however, some believe this.
"Ever mind the rule of three; what thou givest return to thee. This lesson well thou must learn, Thou only get-est what thou dost earn"

Wiccan Rede Most (but not all) witches follow the one rule: "An it harm none, do as ye will". This means that they can follow any path, as long as no one (including the self) is harmed. However this does not forbid doing harm. They believe in many deities as gods and goddesses but usually only work with two deities; the God and Godess of they're choosing. They can be from, any origin; Roman, Greek, Egyptian and pagan, etc.

They have they're own Grimoire or Book of Shadows passed down from they're maternal side. And is usually frowned upon for anyone other than the person bestowed this book to open, look or even touch it. Some may have incantations and curses bestowed upon them and have shield protection of there own.

Wizards are magic users like witches, but they tend to focus their magic through objects such as wands of staffs. They tend to seem a little more 'prim' and 'proper' than other magic users, they like to keep their knowledge of magics and themselves to themselves. They operate in medium to large groups with a clear hierarchy. They do not worship gods or deities very much, such notions are beyond them as a whole, that they are better than that. However this lack of human sensitivity and/or caring has given them a untrustworthy stereotype, and their general attitude towards others does not help that.

Warlocks are a more... single minded kind of magic user. Sone consider these 'Warlocks' to be evil, when in truth Warlock is the slang for a male witch. It is the public that has designate a Warlock as evil. As most evil wizards and witches alike have used the term quite often to describe themselves, as they have in deed instigated and been warriors in many wars. If you wish to use the title 'Warlock' you may still be a 'good' guy/gall.

Mages tend to work in huge organisations that range from Monks to knights. Not all of these can actually use magic, but the magic users themselves are implemented as many things from healers, to combat users. Many of the new age Mages tend to carry weaponry, and actively involve themselves in battle! They were and some still are that of peace keepers. They actively try to prevent wars between the races, and seek out those who would see the word engulfed in battle. For this they have gotten a rather holy aspect to them, but this is not the reality. They will burn whole villages to the ground, torture their victims for information and think nothing of killing a few to save a many. They are the neutral, but equally as lethal, party here.[to be filled out]

Witches

Strengths!

Spells!
Spoken spells, they do not have to rhyme but it helps. Also, they can have written spells, and burning parchment with the spell written on it to active the spell.

Potions!
Potions can be used to create a lot of helpfull and nasty effects, some of the more nasty ones require the flesh of the target they intend to harm.

Summons!
Ether familiars or magical creatures, some are purely to help out, while others are more offensive... while some are just going f**k you over the first chance they get.

Weaknesses!

Basically human level resistance to damage, physical strength and endurance.
So basically, Witches and Warlocks, unless mentioned otherwise in the profile, heal as slow as a normal human, can run as much as a normal person of their body type, and are basically human, their main strength is literally their magic... unless mentioned otherwise.

Spells!

Spells can range from a wide variety of things, if you can think it up, you could probably find a way of doing it. They can be offensive or defensive, use your own magic or need ingredients to complete. For example, after a short incantation "By the blessed light of the sun, Banish the darkness before me!" raise your hand and Boom, rays of burning light scorch a small area...
When writing a spell, then burning said spell to activate it. These are 'not normally' aggressive spells, they can be used to contact spirits and in some cases but if normally used for long distance contact, finding where people are hiding/being hidden.
Written spells are more of an enchantment, the object with the spell on it, will take on the aspects of the spell. Things like writing the spell in a door way to ward off evil, on a lock box to ward of evil, on a potion case to ward of evil... on a book to EXPLODE when opened.

Potions!

Most potions are for simple stuff, healing, poisoning, curing ailments... but the more advanced levels can do things like, turn people to stone, create explosions, erupt the object struck with the potion in fire! Now, this being said there is a more dangerous side to magics. Other than them going wrong... this is the danger to OTHER people were currently talking about. Demons and Vampires... all 'evil' creatures that prey on humans... If a Witch can get Flesh of a creature, they can create a potion around the flesh to make an incredibly deadly potion to affect that particular creature. Blood works too, but is not really as effective as a chunk of flesh being used.

Summons!

Witches can summon familiars like Cats, Toads, Ravens and other creatures. They don't have to summon then if they already have one, but having familiars can help them with their work, be it gathering supplies for them, sending messages, and when things are dire they defend their master... but their pretty weak.
They can also summon creatures that are more magical, such as gremlins and sprites... Although.. these creatures tend to be tricky, they may help you at first, but if there's a way of them getting the upper hand, they will most likely take it. So be careful! or don't do it.

Wizards

Strengths!

Spell's, Hex's & Charm's!
By use of a 'wand' or 'staff' or some other kind of enchanted item, Wizards are able to manipulate their magic into a more useful form. Thus they are able to cast spells ranging from control over an element, to healing magic. There is a wide range of things their magic can actually do, for example, a skilled earth wizard can potentially walk through rock, or raise Golems.

Weaknesses!

Basically human level resistance to damage, physical strength and endurance.
So basically wizards, unless mentioned otherwise in the profile, heal as slow as a normal human, can run as much as a normal person of their body type, and are basically human, their main strength is literally their magic... unless mentioned otherwise.

Mages

Strengths!

Enchantments!
Mages will often have items/weapons enchanted. Some will be offensive while others will be purely defensive in nature. This means their simple robe, 'could' actually be a strong as a suit of armour! Their walking stave could actually be able to shoot lightning! Or something like that.

Weaknesses!

Basically human level resistance to damage, physical strength and endurance.
So basically mages, unless mentioned otherwise in the profile, heal as slow as a normal human, can run as much as a normal person of their body type, and are basically human, their main strength is literally their magic... unless mentioned otherwise.

Four forms of guides
Ascended Masters These are guides often found by people who do energy work, such as Reiki. A ascended master who appears as a spirit guide is often a being that led a physical life and has moved on to a higher spiritual plane (for example, Buddha, Krishna, even Jesus.. Dark gods and demonettes) Ascended masters usually work with collective groups of souls, in other words, if you've got an ascended master hanging around you, you're not the only one he or she is helping. Their primary focus is that of helping all of humanity. It's not uncommon for an ascended master to have access to records.
Ancestral Guides Is one who can claim some sort of kinship with you. It may also appear in the form of a long-dead ancestor. In some schools of thought, these entities are seen as reincarnated guides, because they are the spirits of someone who loved us during their physical lifetime, or who had some sort of blood connection to our family. Some people, depending on their religious upbringing, may see these types of guides as guardian angels.
Common or Teacher spiritual guide A typical spirit guide is archetypical, symbolic or representative of something else. (For example, you may find your guide appears in the form of a warrior, a storyteller, or a wise woman) Regardless they have appeared to you, or been summoned by you for a purpose. Typically, that purpose is to teach you and guide you along a particular path. They may also introduce you to other archetypes along your journey, and help out with problem solving, based upon your needs. They are known to provide insight by way of dreams or meditation, and may only hang around as long as you need them, then move on.
Animal guide Although many people claim to have animals as spirit guides, often these entities are more companions than anything else. It's not uncommon for a deceased pet to linger around, keeping you company through the grieving process. In some spiritual traditions, such as various Native American or shamanic paths, a person may have an animal totem, which provides teaching and/or protection.(also see below in Animals in magic)

Animals in magic

Power Animals, Totem Animals and Spirit Animals
A power animal is a spiritual guardian that some people connect with. However, much like other spiritual entities, there's no rule or guideline that says you must have one. If you happen to connect with an animal entity while meditating or performing astral travel, then that may be your power animal or it may just be curious about what you're up to.
The use of a totem animal is not part of traditional practice. However, other modern practices evolve and blend together, many people who follow non-mainstream spiritual paths find themselves working with a mix of many different belief systems.
There can also be spirit guides as well as spirit animals.
A familiar is often defined as an animal with whom we have a magical connection, but in truth, the concept is a bit more complex than this. They can be summoned as well as bought. Usually a stray might cross you're path and seem to 'guard' or oversee you.

Serpent magic

Ravens and Crows Appear in folklore going back to early times. Sometimes, they're seen as harbingers of doom, but more often than not, they are messengers.

Owls Appear in legends and myths going back to the ancient Greeks, who knew the wise old owl was the symbol of their goddess Athena. However, owls are often associated with prophecy and bad tidings.

Cat Magic
Ever have the privilege of living with a cat? If you have, you know that they have a certain degree of unique magical energy. It’s not just our modern domesticated felines, though - people have seen cats as magical creatures for a long time.
Some people see cats as guardians of the dead or guardians of the underworld and hell. Often knowing things that are not seen to be what they appear. Some are known to sense impending disaster due to their whiskers and senses being alot better than a human. Some people may even think they're familiar actually talks to them.

Black cats Anyone who lives with a cat knows how fortunate they are to have a cat in their life. But there are a few who believe that they are unlucky and get up to nasty hikinks like local hooligans on a certain Friday. Most witches prefer to have a black cat as a familiar.

Dog Magic
For thousands of years, man has found a companion in the dog. As time has passed, and both species have evolved, the dog has found his role in many cultures the world over. While the modern communities of witches tends to, as a whole, be drawn towards the aloof and noble cat, it’s important that we do not overlook the magical nature of dogs. Although they are typically associated with death, they are also symbolic of loyalty and the bonds of friendship.

Wolf is associated with many different aspects throughout the ages. Often seen as terrifying, there are plenty of tales in which the wolf is shown as compassionate and nurturing.

Spiders Depending on where you live, you probably see spiders starting to emerge from their hiding spots at some point in the summer. By fall, they tend to be fairly active because they’re seeking warmth. Don’t panic, though – most spiders are harmless, and people have learned to co-exist with them for thousands of years. Some are used for luck, spells or even as a familiar. People and spiders have learned to coexist for thousands of years. There web and eggs can be used as ingrediants for spells. But please go to the local __ instead of terrorizing all the local ones.

Bees When spring rolls around, you'll see bees buzzing around your garden, partaking of the rich pollen in your flowers and herbs. The plants are in full bloom at this time of the spring, and the bees take full advantage, buzzing back and forth, carrying pollen from one blossom to another. In addition to providing us with honey and wax, bees are known to have magical properties.

Rabbits Spring equinox is a time for fertility and sowing seeds, and so nature's fertility goes a little crazy. The rabbit for good reason; is often associated with fertility magic and sexual energy. Spring is a great time to focus on some of that rambctious energy

Frog & Toad Magic and superstition Frogs and toads feature prominently in both magical folklore and in many societies. These amphibious critters are known for a variety of magical properties, from their ability to help predict the weather, to curing warts to bringing good luck.

Tortoise & Turtles The turtle and tortoise appear in a number of cultures, and are often associated with longevity and stability, as well as numerous creation myths.
