In Book 3 : Change taught us that new airbenders are emerging throughout the earth kingdom. I mean how could this possibly be? Before this we already know that someone with airbending ancestry or anyone whose blood-related to the air nomads.

My theory is in Book 2 : Spirits we learned that

Raava is the embodiment of light and order whereas Vaatu is the embodiment of dark and chaos, together they formed a balance or the natural order of the world. One cannot exist without the other. Dark and light, cold and hot, spring and fall, life and death or day and night.

We learned that Vaatu somehow "killed" Raava by growing and influencing damage on her or causing raging spirits around him. Like we have learned one cannot exist without the other, Raava miraculously "rebirth" inside of him.

This theory could explain why these new airbenders are being born within the earth kingdom. Why would I say that? It's literally because that the element of air is the opposite to the element earth just as fire opposite to water.

My other theory is bending was forged onto the world given by the lion turtle for the sake of humans to protect themselves from spirits as the spirits have supernatural powers. Thus from this the return of the spirits somehow re-catalyze the speeding process of emerging of the lost air nomads to achieve natural equilibrium on their world.

I'm super excited to learn that air is the element of freedom and peace but that doesn't stop Zaheer as the first airbender depicted as a supervillain in Book 3.

Also, Bumi can airbend! I knew it, he greatly represent Aang distinct personality. I wish he'd be the one to defeat Zaheer.

I'm not a native speaker of English, I'm truly sorry if my writings annoy the hell out of you. Just felt like to express them out.

My only problem right now is the first series, THE LAST AIRBENDER, clearly advertise Aang as the LAST after the Fire Nation destroyed all the Air temples. So unless others were indeed born after all of that somewhere else somehow... I really do not understand how other then Aang's family could produce Airbenders... they do not just appear, they have to be descended from those that were bestowed the gift from the Lion Turtles. That is what they said in the last season. So unless one Air nomad escaped, had a family, secretly taught Airbending, and didn't ever bother to reveal themselves to Aang...

Nah, Legend of Korra is getting worse. I personally found the previous season not that great at all... I think what killed it was the fact that Raava was almost destroyed, and all the previous Avatar's connections were severed. That pissed me off... I didn't like that. Korra only JUST found her spiritual side, and then it's gone forever. No more previous Avatars... Korra is the beginning of a new era...

I liked it, and hated it.

But still, new benders can't be born if they do not have bender blood of that element. They have to be descent from those given the bending power from the Lion Turtles... UNLESS... Aang actually bestowed upon a select few the ability to Airbend with Energybending... huh...

Well it's a little disappointing since you pointed what I've been also aggravated about. It's true her spiritual connections have been severed but somehow on the bright side for me at least, they're going for the theme 'legend of korra to its truest potential. Basically everything have pros and cons, they are things you liked about and things you don't, I know there are things we are deeply regret but the excitement for the series continued from ATLA outweigh all of these negative feelings over the top for me. Let's just hope the series will get positive critics in the end so we'll get more avatar series. Good animations with fascinating and diverse universe are hard to come by nowadays.

Well the lovey dovey things in Book 1 and 2 were totally unnecessary. Even so I love how they 'managed' the love thing in ATLA but greatly failed in LOK. lol

Regarding the energybending, I believed Aang did try bestowed airbending abilities on people as a result to recover his lost people. Seriously there are a lot of things unexplained during the 42 years when he's living. I believed or perhaps Bumi or Zaheer could be the earliest people to receive airbending from Aang since they're the eldest people around able to do those. It's interesting that Bumi can bond with that spirit bunny thing showing he attained some sort of spiritual side.

If they even touch dark humor I'd love to see an avatar series just like bravest warriors on the internet.

It's explained that before the Air temples were destroyed, the Earth Kingdom long ago kidnapped Airbenders for breeding or some s**t O-o Probably to originally save them from the Fire Nation, but it seems that it was then taken over by the Dai Li... I think that is how there is Airbenders still. Though it seems they also suddenly appear because of the Spirit World...and Physical World joining again.

I think I'm going to go with the second idea you have. I believe the harmonic convergence thing made airbenders pop out from everywhere because how are you going to explain Bumi being an airbender. It made a lot of sense that way. If I'm right those airbenders were kidnapped after harmonic convergence because the queen wanted to make them as labrats by the Dai Li. I don't know since Opal, Su's daughter is an airbender born into an earthbender family. Toph's daughter. Whatever the reason is I think somehow they all have the airbender genes in them, seriously have you ever heard of dominant and recessive genes?

lol.
