Welcome and thank you for volunteering to be a part of our project! While we can't release much information about the island itself, or any core aspects of our research, we can tell you that you will enjoy your stay and you will be well taken care of. If you ever had the dream of having a Pokemon as fast Jolteon and as strong as Rampardos, your dreams have come true!
Before we can enlist just anybody into our program, we must ask a few questions to measure the worthiness of the applicant to ensure that all of our information will not be under authoritative scrutiny or stolen or used in any damaging, negative way.
First, tell us about yourself.
SECTION 1-A
What is your name? Liam Watkins
Do you have a preferred name? Liam
How old are you? 18
What is your gender? Male
Where are you from? Ambrette Town, Kalos
SECTION 2-A
What do you look like? "I don't think I'm fat." Liam lifted his shirt to reveal a flat stomach with somewhat defined abs. He is toned all over, but not particularly buff. His skin is sun-kissed except near the top of his waistband where there is a stripe of his natural skin tone, much paler than his stomach and arms. "My hair's naturally dark brown, same with my eyes. I don't have much hair on me, but that's just genetics. I got a little bit here," He runs his finger around his belly button and just above his pelvic region. "And some on my legs, but nothing on my back or chest." He adds.
What is your style of clothing? "Work requires me to wear their uniform, but I get to choose what pants I get to wear. I normally wear dark, straight legged jeans to work, but when I'm out surfing, I only need my swim trunks. I also have to wear glasses, but I've gotten into the habit of wearing contact lenses. The sea has swallowed up a good share of my glasses when I wasn't careful." He gave a small, embarrassed chuckle. "Although I dress for comfort more than style, I still choose clothes that suit my body type. Straight cut jeans, sneakers, t-shirts, button down shirts and pullovers make up for most of my closet," He pauses and averts his eyes. "I only wear boxer-briefs."
SECTION B
Tell us about yourself.
"I work at the Pokemon center in Ambrette Town. My main duties are updating files and making sure the center is well stocked. Sometimes when someone calls in sick, I take over at the Pokemart counter. It only rarely happens though. I'd like to think that I'm a reliable worker. I am rarely late and always aim to finish the task at hand before leaving work. I like what I do, so I don't mind." He brushes it off as if it were nothing. "When I'm not at work, I tend to be out on the sea with my board, either surfing or just Pokemon watching. The aquarium might be a big tourist attraction, but nothing beats seeing the fish up close."
"I'm pretty indifferent about a lot of stuff on the outside." He says with a shrug. "But I do tend to dwell on the past a lot, even though I don't show it. I think about it, but I can't really do anything about it, right? One thing I'm working on is making eye contact when I talk to people. Although I work in the retail industry, it's very hard for me to talk to people. Even with friends, I tend to avoid their gazes and stare off into the distance. It's not that they're ugly or anything, but it's a little bit..." He furrows his brows a little "awkward to look them straight in the eye."
How did you hear about this project? "My parents handed me a flyer about a Pokemon journey. They've been pitching the different regions every birthday since I was 10, but I've always turned them down."
Why did you decide to volunteer for this project? He gave a small shrug and scratched his face lightly. "This flyer called to me unlike the others did. It might have been because my parents were telling me that I had to get a real job soon because I was almost an adult. I can see regular Pokemon in any other region, but how awesome would it be to work alongside new technologies with manipulating DNA?" His face lit up with excitement. Maybe his parents didn't actually play that much of a role in his decision to go on this journey after all.
What is your main goal/what do you wish to achieve from this project? "I want to learn more about Pokemon, I guess." He scratches the back of his head and lets out a small chuckle. "I'm mostly interested in marine Pokemon though and I hope to take some of the skills back to Ambrette Town and help environmental remediation or research of how humans impact the habitats of Pokemon. A silly dream, I know." He let out a half-hearted chuckle, a bit of worry in his laugh. "For now, I just hope to understand domesticated Pokemon a little bit more, having spent most of my teenage years with wild Pokemon."
Are you afraid? "Why does it matter if I am or not? Once I'm out there, I'll figure how to get around my fears somehow."

Build: Medium build with broad shoulders and long legs.
Skin Colour: Slightly tanned, there is clearly a tan line at his hips and around his upper arms.
Hair Colour: Milk chocolate brown
Hair Style: Medium- short, often slicked back.
Eye Colour: Dark brown
Other: Wears glasses at home and when he doesn't have enough sleep. On a regular basis, he will wear contact lenses.
PERSONALITY:
[ + ] - Reliable Even though Liam is quiet and reserved, he is a very reliable worker. He won't leave work or school until his work is done. If someone asks him to do something, he will do it to the best of his abilities as long as it doesn't go against his morals and the person asking isn't someone he hates. He's more than willing to run errands for friends or give them his notes if they missed class, even though his writing is barely legible chicken scratch.
[ - ] - Indifferent Liam often comes off as wishy-washy and unable to make decisions to people around him, but he just doesn't have much of an opinion. Even if he has an opinion, he evaluates whether it's more important to him to make a point or keep someone happy. Typically he just doesn't care enough to step into a conversation, so he stays quiet. He has little preference for certain foods and activities with friends. Even with Pokemon that he uses, he has little preference. As long as he's diligent, any Pokemon will grow to like him and be a good partner in battle.
[ +/- ] - Honest When asked specific questions or prodded for his opinion, he will give a brutally honest answer. He doesn't mean any harm, but he feels as though he does the other person no justice if he lies to them. Oftentimes people don't believe him when he says he has no opinion, but that is just his indifference speaking. However, when someone says something that is scientifically wrong, he will not hesitate to correct them if he knows better.
[ +/- ] - Calculating Before making a decision, Liam will weigh the pros and cons of each option. Even in voicing his opinion, he weighs if it's more important to voice it or if it's more important to not make the other person angry. He is also calculating with money and will always try for the best deal. This has led him to spend most of his money on dusk balls rather than ultra balls and opt to only catch pokemon during the night.
Likes: The ocean, surfing, marine pokemon, computer programming (no need to face other humans), hot girls in bikinis
Dislikes: Crawling under cold covers, scraped knees, sunburns
