That's super comprehensive, but I'll give it a shot.
I was surprised by how much I liked John/Mary, they work pretty well together. When she showed up in the series, I thought she was just there so Sherlock could prove she was secretly a terrible person, John would end up single, and the status quo would be restored. Not so much.
Instead, she sticks around for the whole reason, ACTUALLY marries John, (seriously, what other interrupted proposal in fiction actually end up working out?) and even after her past gets revealed, he chooses to love her anyway.
I love it when a show avoids a trope.
