The Fields are huge.
You face an large, open grassy area.Maybe you can see a few students sparring in the distance, with professors watching over them of course. The Fields make up an entire corner of the Academy, and they're so big that you could easily have dozens of pairs of students dueling and they would never run into each other. There really isn't much to say about the Fields - it's just a large grassy field. Go wild. Though students may be interested in knowing that the Field is home to a few weak spots of ground. Be careful, or else you might fall into the Catacombs by accident.
At the end of the Fields, where the Academy's walls stand tall and proud, there are doors that lead to Justus, the only town for miles around.
Welcome to the Practice Fields!

The door to the forest creaked open, and then just as quickly creaked shut. Few would notice the small boy in the long green cloak stepping out, because, well, in this strange school very few things were out of place. Carrmin took a deep breath and crossed the campus with short, confident strides, making a wide berth around the courtyard and on into the Practice Fields. Per Headmaster Soulstone's requests, he was going to check the seals on the doors leading out of the campus. Just to be safe, of course. It wasn't because he was worried that he was unable to locate the unit in the forest. Not at all.

For a second, it felt like the air was tearing -- then it really did tear; a long, jagged gash appearing in what seemed to be thin air. Inside the gash seemed to be a vast blackness, specks of white swirling around as a leg slowly emerged from it. Next came a body, and soon a tall male was standing in the middle of the field, straightening his tie. With his gloved hands the horned figure grabbed at the edges of the rip and slowly pushed them back together, until they eventually disappeared.
The dimension rip itself hadn't disappeared entirely, of course. Those kinds of took a bit of time to sew back together, but for now he had pushed closed the deeper layers of the rip. It wasn't like he would care if somebody got stuck in it.
Upon seeing Carrmin, the stranger grinned. "So this is where you've been all these years, Carr! My, it took a little time to find you. You did indeed hide yourself well."

Carrmin froze. Oh, you MUST be kidding me. But no, the universe was not kidding him. Here, in the flesh, stood... well, him. He'd changed his appearance, and probably his name, but it was definitely him. He still exuded that aura... Carrmin sniffed. He smelled... different. More... demonish. Had he fused again? The elf took an unconscious step back.
No, he told himself. He refused to be intimidated by this second-rate thing. He was older (even though he didn't look it) and wiser (even though he rarely acted it) and on his home turf. He wasn't scared of some younger, stupider being, no matter how much his knees shook. Falling back on his usual strategy, Carrmin offered up a cheeky grin. "Hello, mister!" he chirped. "You look new. Let's play hide and seek! You hide, and I seek!" Preferably, please hide somewhere that I will never, ever, ever find you.

"Oh my," The stranger drawled, a grin curling up on his face. It was nothing short of intimidating; alongside perfectly white teeth, the stranger seemed to be possessing fangs. "Don't tell me you've forgotten your lovely friend the Jabberwocky? Such a handsome, charming character as myself isn't someone who is so easily forgotten, you know. I'm quite surprised." As he said this the stranger pushed a hand through his hair, chuckling a little to himself. He was indeed as he claimed, handsome -- but it also appeared that he was rather full of himself as well.
After a moment, the smile was wiped entirely off of his face. Closed eyes cracked open momentarily, a flash of yellow and cat irises before his eyelids fluttered shut again. "Well, even if you didn't remember it would be all the more better for me. It appears I will be staying here for a while! I hope we can treat eachother kindly. " The stranger swept his hand in the air, giving an elegant bow before tilting his head up to grin at Carrmin.
"By the way, wasn't the 'hide and seek' spiel that of your friend's? I didn't know you were in the hobby of telling cruel jokes, Carrmin. "

Carrmin kept up his childish smile, but he... realized something. This one... he isn't... he isn't him. No. He wasn't anything like him. The Jabberwocky, showing up here? Now? That certainly wasn't good news. But why did he appear? Clearly he'd torn out of that dimension gap all by himself. Had he been... attracted? No. Carrmin couldn't think like that. Not anymore. He'd simply have to grin and bear it until he found some other dimension rip to throw Jaa back into.
But Carrmin's blood ran cold as Jabb casually mentioned hide and seek. How did this one know him unless - no... no. Carrmin forced the thought from his mind. It would explain plenty of things, but those types of those were the last thing he needed right now. He let his smile droop. "Nice t'meet ya, Mister Jah... Zha.... Jahbrocky," Carrmin managed, mangling the hell out of Jaa's name. He was never going to get used to uttering human tongues. "How d'you know Obb? Did you play tag with him too?" Carrmin didn't mind playing the idiot, even if Jaa obviously wasn't buying it. Anything to get him off campus and away from the kids.

Heavy lidded eyes watched Carrmin, Woc's previous smile not quite reaching up to them. Woc straightened up from his bow, flaming tail whipping behind him with a loud 'woosh'. He seemed to be enjoying this, but Jabber liked causing any sort of trouble.
Nobody forgot the Jabberwocky.
"You might as well call me Jabber, Carrmin. It might be easier on that old tongue of yours. I would let you call me by my real name, but it appears my heart is too tender from your lack of memory to allow you to call me so intimately." Woc flashed another smile, inspecting the area around him. "So you've taken up residence near a school again? How very typical of you."
The smile on Woc's face stretched a bit farther. He ignored Carrmin's question, yellow eyes still staring at the buildings in the distance. "Lovely entertainment, children are. Though not very remarkable otherwise. I imagine I'll wander quite a bit in my stay here -- though a residence in that large forest sounds quite cozy. Ah, but I'll make sure not to trespass on your domain. Don't worry yourself about that."

Carrmin was not an easy boy... man... person to anger. His countless years alive had granted him wisdom beyond measure, enough that he could keep his head cool in most, if not all situations.
But nobody harmed his children. Once Jaa mentioned the kids, Carrmin's smile wiped right off. He dropped the facade, folded his arms, and straightened. He wasn't anywhere near as tall as Jaa; on the contrary, Carrmin was shorter than most if not all of the students. He was small and trapped in a young boy's body. But he could bring together an impressive aura of the forest if necessary, and he deemed it quite necessary.
"My residence is none of your concern," he said, and this time he spoke in his native language, a form of Elven so old there wasn't a soul alive that spoke it anymore. But Jaa would understand him. Perhaps. "You'll stay away from the children. If you insist on staying, you may lurk in the forest until I find a hellish dimension to throw you back to." He paused. "And I'll call you whatever I wish, Jaa. I moved to rid myself of one demon, and I refuse to be driven out by another."

Woc slipped his hands back inside of his pockets, curving his back so a bit more distance formed between him and Carrmin. It was less for the sake of creating distance and more so he could watch from a different angle. Yellow eyes peered at Carrmin in amusement, a flash of what might have been a third eyelid flickering over them.
"A demon? My my, how insulting. I have a countenance more similar to a dragon, don't you think? Though I suppose at the moment I am more spirit than dragon or demon." The smile on Woc's face became a little more malicious with that. He bent over, eyes meeting Carrmin's own at equal level. His voice lowered. "Rest assured, I have no interest in causing the widescale discord I'm sure you assume I'm here for. I wouldn't have found you if I was interested in that sort of thing don't you think?"
"Really, and I even went out of my way to greet you properly. I'm quite hurt, Carrmin." Flashing another smile, Woc straightened back up. He turned his head away from Carrmin, peering over at the wall separating the school campus from the forest. It wouldn't be any trouble crossing over it.

Carrmin glared up with as much dignity as he could muster. "I do not care if you are a demon, spirit, or dragon," he said. "I will banish you when the time comes." As Jaa leaned down, Carrmin swallowed and stared directly into his cold yellow eyes. Something Jaa said rang odd. "Wouldn't have found you"... did that mean... No, that was ridiculous, but Carrmin had to ask anyway.
"If you are not here to cause discord, then... you searched me out specifically? Why?" Carrmin's voice trembled, almost imperceptibly. "Why can't you and your kind leave me be for hardly a decade?" He didn't want to admit it - no, he'd never admit it - but Carrmin was scared, even if it was only on a subconscious scale. Being kidnapped and attacked by a demon really did a number on you. He eyed Jaa carefully. Regardless of what he said, the dragon-spirit-demon creature was up to something, and it couldn't possibly be good.

Woc was beginning to look more entertained the further the conversation went. "When the time comes, I'll leave myself." Carrmin's frustration was almost tangible, and the taller male chuckled again.
"Old men truly worry quite a lot." Woc observed. His carefree attitude had yet to leave him. "Though as for why I've sought you out...." He fell silent for a moment, expression thoughtful as he tilted his head to stare at the sky before his eyes fell back on Carrmin. Woc smiled. "Hmm, I wonder."
"Don't worry too much about my needs, Carrmin. You are in the middle of something that requires your attention, aren't you? I won't take up any more of your time." Tugging one hand out of his pocket, Woc gave a little wave. With that, he left in the direction of the wall.
{ exit? probably. who knows. heheh. }
