In the story of the swan princess, the princess was the victim. The witch cast a spell on her and the Prince had to kill the temptress to save the princess, but what if it was an entirely different story than what we were told in the first place?

Odette, the princess of a foreign kingdom, is in bliss because she has just been told that she will be wed to the handsome prince in the neighboring kingdom. At a dinner, everyone congratulates the happy couple, but secretly the servants feel bad for him since he does not know the princess is actually a mean and malicious women. At the gathering that night is a strange and beautiful sorceress. To everyone else, she seems dangerous, but inside she is actually just a scared girl who is trying to revive her father's kingdom after he died a few years earlier, leaving her the only heir.

That night, the princess sees everyone watching the temptress and becomes insanely jealous. After everyone leaves, she runs to the library and finds some spell books her mother had kept. That night, she tries a spell to destroy what the temptress finds most dear and kills her long time friend and lover, the person she had been betrothed to since she was a child. In greif, the temptress retaliates and traces the spell before casting her own. From then on, at nights, she must live the life of a swan, a creature more beautiful, graceful, and pure than the princess could ever hope to be.

During the day after she discovers the curse, she runs to the prince and tells him what the sorceress has done, knowing only she could have cast such a spell. Not knowing the entire story, the prince runs and decides to kill the sorceress, the only way to bring his princess back to normal.

Bio: Vail was raised as an only child. At a young age, she found a friend in one of the maid's children. As they grew up, love bloomed between them. When he turned sixteen, he asked her to marry him, and with her father's blessing, she said yes. However, after a party at the Princess' castle, he died in her bed. Vail had woken up to horrible screams and had seen her lover writhing in pain on the bed. She had held him and cried as he died in her arms. After realizing who had done it, she cast a spell on the princess. Now, she lives in the castle alone with her pain and sorrow.
