Coraline walked around for a while looking for something to do. She had been bored today and wanted something to do. She hummed softly under her breath. It was a good time to be out and about on her own. Getting away from others and just being free. Her feet held a dancing step to it as she bounded down the path. There was a pretty cliff near here she really wanted to get to see. She continued to walk closer and didn't notice that there was a ledge with loose gravel on it. She sang and continued to walk. Looking up into the sky and smiling it was such an amazing day. One that should be spent out exploring and finding new treasures. She was glad the day wasn't too hot her little tail wiggled happily as a breeze ruffled her fur. She stood at the edge of the cliff and looked out at the view. It was breath taking and made her forget everything and also forget she was standing on the edge of a cliff. A sound startled her and she spun to see what it was. The loose gravel gave her no traction and she slipped over the edge. She grabbed onto a branch that stuck out over the edge. But she didn't know how she was going to get back up onto solid land. She clung to the branch and prayed it would hold her weight as she figured out what to do.

Ah, what a wonderful day! Crim pranced through the forest, enjoying the nice sunny weather. He was out exploring a new area today, and was enjoying it greatly so far, though he wasn't quite sure where he was. Usually he didn't stray to far from his own territory. But today, the breeze had whisked him away from there. He roamed the new land in the direction the wind blew. Every now and then he would stop and mark a tree to indicate the path he had take as to not get lost. As he pranced along listening to the sounds of nature, a voice caught his attention. It sounded as if someone was singing. Crim sniffed the air but as he was upwind, the air carried no scent for him to track. Instead, he turned his ears in the direction of the soft voice, and made an attempt to track it's carrier that way. He was almost to the source of the song when it stopped. Wondering if he had scared the carrier, he stalled, then crouched and began to stalk forward, almost completely silent. Crim hid behind a small shrub. He peered around it and thought he could just make out the figure of a fume. Cautiously, he tried to step around the shrub silently. But failed miserablely as he stepped on a small branch that snapped with a loud crack. A noise followed after the snap, a sound of claws slipping on earth. Over come with curiosity, Crim forgot about being stealthy and stepped out into the open. The figure that he had spotted was no longer there. "Strange. I could have sworn someone was there." He said aloud to himself. "Hello?" He called out to the space before him.

Coraline yelped as she slipped a bit and then sunk her claws into the wood. No. No she would not fall. This was so not going to happen to her. If it did she knew she either wouldn't live or wouldn't live it down. No matter what the ending wouldn't be a good one. She worked hard and started to pull herself up onto the branch. There that was better. Not much but still at least she had a bit of a hold on it. She heard someone call out and frowned. "You looking for someone?" She called back as she continued to try to work on getting up and not be dangling anymore. She was too scared and irritated to be bashful all she was focused on was getting her feet back onto the solid ground. She did not enjoy having her paws just waving in the air as she squirmed and struggled to get back up. She got a paw on the ledge but then the loose gravel made her lose that grip. Luckily her other paw was still gripping the branch. She went back to clinging to the branch.

After hearing a yelp and a voice, Crim looked around, scanning the area very confused. He searched the tree tops but the voice seemed to have come from the ground. Confusion was plain on his face as he took cautious steps in the direction of the voice. He found himself standing very close to the edge of a cliff...
A few moments later it dawned on him. Quickly, but very cautiously Crim approached the edge and peered over. There she was, a black and white fume clinging to a branch sticking out of the side of the cliff face. He had heard of some fumes living life dangerously but he had never thought they would do something as crazy as this.
"Oh my Deities! Uh... Don't move! I'm here to help!" He frantically looked around for a vine or branch he could lower down to the female. Remembering the bush he was hiding behind, Crim dashed away from the ledge. He frantically tore at the bush, ripping off a branch with his teeth and claws.
Carrying the branch in his mouth, he ran back to the ledge. He wrapped his long tail around a nearby tree for extra support. What good would he be if he couldn't support her as she climbed up? Crim lowed the branch over the edge towards the two toned fume.
"Gab old o dis an 'll ull yew uf!" He called down to her, the branch in his mouth hindering his speech.

Coraline continued to cling to the branch. Ok she was here all by herself and she needed to figure out someway to get back up top because who would help her? There was no one here so she would have to save herself. She bit her lip as she continued to cling to the branch. Ok how to get out of this mess? She sighed and kept on holding on tight to the branch. Time to think. Stop panicking and think. If she didn't think she would never be able to get out of this predicament. She took slow deep breaths and focused. But then there was a sound above her. She looked up and was shocked to see a head poke over the side of the cliff. She stared at him and frowned. Who was this guy? Was that the sound that had startled her so much she fell? She looked at that orangey brown, white, and black fume. She scared into his green eyes and bit her lip. What was he doing here? She squirmed and yelped as her paw slipped. No thinking about the guy just focus on getting out. After she got out she could wonder about the guy and think about him. She looked up at him when he said that. How was that helping? Where was she going to go? "I won't move don't worry." She looked at him some more and wondered what he thought he could do to help. She frowned when he ran off. Where was he going? Was he just going to give her hope and then run away from her? She clung to it tightly and closed her eyes for a few moments and worked hard to keep a hold of the branch. But it was getting harder and harder to hold on. Her limbs were getting tired and she was starting to slip. She couldn't fall she had to hold onto the branch. No letting go must hold on and hope. She had to hope that guy was coming back. There wasn't anything she could do if he didn't. She was losing the strength to hold on. She yelped when he reappeared again. She looked up at the branch he offered to her. She frowned scared he wouldn't be able to support her weight. She looked at him and took a slow deep breath then grabbed onto the branch he offered her and used the last of her strength to pull herself out. She collapsed on the floor and panted as she tried to get up but her legs wobbled and she fell over again. She couldn't stand too weak and too tired to stand. She trembled and took deep breaths.

Crim held the branch steady as he peered down at the female just barely hanging on. She seemed to be debating for a moment whether or not to take the branch he offered. He was about to offer her more encouragement when she took hold of it. The three toned male sank his teeth deep into the bark of the branch, holding it as tightly as he could. He dug his claws into the earth of the ledge, tensed every muscle in his body, and gripped the tree with his tail for extra support. There was no way he was going to let her fall. His strength would hold. He would not let himself fail in this.
He was surprised at how light she was. And she climbed up quickly, probably using the last of her energy and adrenaline to give her the boost.
Before he realized it, the female was up, all feet on solid ground. He gave her some space and watched her collapse on the ground, exhaustion playing on her features. She was weak from holding on so long and Crim felt instantly protective of her. It was amazing that she had held on so long and not fallen. Crim felt some respect for the black and white fume before him. Surely there must be something else he could do to help her. Perhaps bring her to water. That would be sure to help her after such a fright.
"Are you okay, Miss?" Crim asked, his voice full of concern as he approached her. "You're not hurt are you?" After a moments hesitation he added, "May I carry you to a water source, Miss?"

Coraline looked at him as he steadied the tree branch. She looked into his eyes and wondered who he was. She frowned when he had to dig in his claws and seemed to be having a very hard time holding onto the branch and not letting her fall. She prayed he would hold on long enough for her to climb out. She didn't want either of them to fall. It was such a steep cliff and if they fell they would die. She clutched at his branch hard and scampered up quick. Faster she got up the faster he could stop worrying about holding the branch and not falling. He also had his teeth sunk into the wood of the branch. That couldn't be good for his teeth. She hoped she wasn't too heavy for him and that he was able to hold her up with the branch. She trembled and breathed a sigh of relief as she was now on solid ground. No more dangling over a cliff. It felt so good to be able to not be afraid of falling. She closed her eyes and just breathed slow deep breaths. Thank whatever brought this guy here. He saved her. She owed him a debt for saving her life. She wondered where he was but didn't have the strength to lift her head up. Hopefully he was somewhere nearby and safe. She made a soft sound when he asked her if she was ok. She gathered strength and her voice was soft and musical. "Yes I am. Thanks to you sir. I owe you for saving my life." She closed her eyes again and listened to him approach where she lay. He sounded concerned and waited to find out what he would do. She shrugged and winced a bit her shoulder hurt. She hadn't realized it but it was sore from when she grabbed onto the branch. "Sore shoulder but I'll be ok no need for you to worry about it." She rested and wanted to get some water and food but she had no energy. She heard his hesitation and stayed still when he asked that. "If I am not too heavy for you then I would appreciate it greatly if you could help me get to water sir. Thank you." Slowly turns her head to look at him and smiles gently at him though a bit cautious.

Crim chuckled lightly. "I always worry, Miss. And you don't owe me a thing. It was my pleasure to help such a lovely fume as yourself out of such a dangerous situation." He stepped up to her and carefully observed her exhausted frame. For a minute, he stood, staring at her, turning his head from side to side, trying to decide the best way to carry her. He made a note of her sore shoulder and took it into account. After another few moments of debating he nodded his head to himself and smiled.
"Alright, I'm going to pick you up now, Miss. I apologize for the closeness, as I know it is not normal for two who have just met to engage in such fond embraces." In any other circumstance, Crim would never get so close to a stranger. But seeing as how this female had almost fallen off a cliff just now and used all her energy to hang on, it seemed necessary.
Gently but also firmly, Crim wiggled his way under the female, nose first. Once he was half way under her side, he used his tail and paws to position her over him, making sure to be very careful with her shoulder. He wasn't perfectly fluid in his movements and jostled her just a tab, but nothing that would hurt her to badly. Once he had her positioned just right, he wrapped his tail around her for extra support to keep her on his back while he stood and began walking.
He walked slowly and carefully away from the cliff and into the forest making sure each step was safe to take without dropping his precious cargo.
"If I may ask, Miss, how did you come to be hanging from a branch off the side of a cliff? Extreme rock climbing?"

Coraline heard him chuckle and tilted her head what had she done that was so funny? "Why do you always worry?" She blushed when he called her lovely and she smiled at him. That was all very nice of him. She watched as he stepped closer to her and she waited to see what he would do. Not much else she could do right now she was so tired and drained. She now knew holding onto a branch for dear life was very draining and hoped to never do it again. She closed her eyes for a few minutes and just relaxed he had saved her life so she figured she was safe. Why would someone save your life only to kill you? That made no sense to her so she didn't even think he would hurt her. He could have died saving her so she felt very safe. She opened her eyes and looked at him. "No need to apologize for picking me up. Nothing else you can do besides dragging me and I would prefer being carried over that. Don't worry about it sir I'm ok with it. And I am sorry you have to carry me after saving my life." Coraline laid there waiting for him to figure out how to pick her up and then do that. It wasn't that big of a deal for her she was just too tired to worry about being close to him. She held very still as he wiggled under her not wanting to move too much since she was worried she would hurt him or make it harder for him. She giggled as his wiggling tickled a bit. That made it harder to hold still but she managed to force herself to hold still. She took slow deep breaths as he jostled her a bit. It didn't hurt much but it did send a twinge of pain through her shoulder. She ignored it and focused on the feel of him under her. She held onto his back with her paws and smiled as she snuggled into the tail the wrapped around her. It felt nice and she felt so safe wrapped up in his tail. Coraline clung to his back but was careful not to dig her claws in as she held on. He was so strong to be able to help pull her up and then cary her. It impressed her so much that he could do this. As they got farther from the cliff she relaxed more. Glad to be away from the edge. She grinned when he asked her all that. "Oh no I was not extreme rock climbing. I came out here to enjoy the view. I didn't realize that the rocks were loose there. And then I heard a sound from behind me. I didn't know what it was so I spun around to see what it was. My feet slipped on the loose gravel and I lost my footing. I fell over the side and grabbed onto the branch so I didn't end up doing some sort of extreme fall." She grinned and her little puff of a tail wiggled as she held onto him.
