Today was the day. He could feel it. Mosi held his head high as he made his way over the uncharted land. It had been almost two weeks since he had last seen a fume. There didn't seem to be anyone out this way. There wasn't much at all out this way really. No over abundance of prey, no stunningly beautiful landscapes, no endlessly deep lakes to swim in, and no fumes to keep him company or at very least provide some entertainment.

But that was going to change today! The dark male nodded to himself as the thought crossed his mind. He had to think it would, had to be optimistic or the loneliness would start settling in and he couldn't have that. Not when he was this far. Far from what wasn't the point. He knew he was far, that was the point. The explorer in him pushed him forward, but the loneliness was catching up fast.

He was so lost in his thoughts of finding something, anything, that he almost didn't catch the scent in the air. An alarm went off in his head and he froze mid step. The air was filled with the scent of another fume. Mosi turned his head from side to side and realized he was in a field. This must be someones hunting ground.

Cautiously, Mosi began to sneak as quietly as he could in the direction where the scent was heaviest. Mentally he cursed himself for his dark blue coat for it always made him stick out among greens and browns.

Well. So much for stalking. Mosi hunched his shoulders in disappointment of being found so quickly... Then the realization of the situation dawned on him. He had been found! By another fume! His features quickly perked up and he rose from his crouch.

A female fume was standing at the edge of the field. From her smile and mannerism it was obvious that she was docile and not going to attack him. That meant there was the possibility to make a friend!

"I'm not hunting, had a pretty big meal earlier." Mosi said as he stood in the field. "Just passing through the area when I caught your scent. So I was... sneaking up on you...?" His voice was very unsure of himself. Now that he said it out loud, it seemed pretty foolish of him. But he hadn't know she was friendly! He tried to justify his actions in his head but embaresment was winning over logic.

This was definitely a good turn of events. Just this morning he was by himself, trekking across the land wishing for any sign of another fume and here he was now playfully trying to sneak up on a friendly female. It was nice to come across someone so open to playing. Most of the other adult fumes he had come into contact with had told him to grow up and stop acting so kip like.

He flattened himself in the grass of the field, pressing himself as low as he could while still being able to stalk forward. He thought for a moment. She'd be expecting me to come from this angle. That just wouldn't do. He had to completely surprise her. He was the most sneaky fume there was after all. Or at least he believed he was. And this was his chance to prove it. As quietly as he could, he moved through the field so that he was positioned almost behind the female.

Mosi continued to creep forward until he felt he was close enough. Then he launched himself towards her.

Mosi smiled as the female started to giggle. He held his head high as she complemented his sneaking talent. Yeah, he was definitely the best, he thought. But something was bugging him. This female was absolutely friend material. But he didn't usually play pounce his friends before he knew their names.

No, introductions were in order. Then more play. Or an adventure. Or both. Mosi perked up at the thought. It had been a long time since he had someone to play with and adventure with.

"Thank you." He said in return to the praise. "Sometimes my fur ruins my chances, but I've been practicing. Name's Mosi." He gave a play bow and wagged his tail. "You said you've hunted this field clean, you must be pretty good at sneaking yourself, no?" Perhaps his new friend would want to show off her skills as a sneaky fume as well. It wasn't fair to pounce someone and not let them pounce you back he thought. Ruins the fun.

Mosi chuckled. He liked her sense of humor. Of course, he did know of other hunting grounds. Finding prey was one of his specialties, it had to be when he was on the move so much. Mosi was about to answer her when she asked a new question that pushed everything else from his mind.

"Now you're speaking my language. A trip to the ocean? That sounds wonderful!" Enthusiasm lit up his features and his excitement rang in his voice. "I would love to travel with you. Usually I just wander around aimlessly but a journey to a specific place sounds like it would make for a much more interesting adventure." He stood there, his tail wagging behind him, for a moment before confusion crossed his face.

"Wait. Your name is Seabreeze and you've never seen the ocean?" Mosi stared at the female confused, waiting for an explanation.

As his new friend spoke, Mosi's tail began to wag excitedly. He had never seen the ocean either and never really had any desire to before. But as Seabreeze spoke, the ocean became a marvelous wonder that he couldn't wait to explore. To see if the tales of it's salt taste and refreshing swim were true was now his new adventuring goal.

"That's too bad. The ocean sounds like a wonderful place. I can't wait to go there!" Mosi hopped around playfully. An adventure was starting. And this time he wouldn't be alone. Happiness and excitement bubbled out of him. "Do you know what direction the ocean is in, Seabreeze? I have never been out this way before but I know there is no ocean in the direction I came from."

It was nice to see someone else so excited about traveling as he was. He could tell this was going to be a really fun trip. Most fumes Mosi had encountered hated traveling long distances. They always got bored or tired of living on the go, no reliable food and water source. But Mosi could see that it wouldn't be a problem with Seabreeze.

"We absolutely are. Do you need to grab anything from your den before we go?" Mosi asked, trying to be patient and think ahead before just taking off like he normally did. "I'll have to hunt at some point later today in case our trip takes us out of the forest but other than that, I'm ready to get started!"
