 Lachlan was lurking around an alley sifting through the garbages. So many clothes so little food, yeeesh these gaians needed to get their priorities straight, he wanted food and he wanted to go back to the park, that was all! He fluffed up his coat and dove into a big garbage can, the rattling sound echoed around the alleyway. That could attract attention but he didn't mind. It was such a big mess in here but very little food.

 Briarwhisker fidgeted, nervous to cause a scene once more. She heard about Gaians killing those of her kind, but she was special. Butterflies always fluttered around her, so what if they caught her and most her their new pet or scientific experiment or something much worse?
Padding into the ally in search of a decent meal for once, she jumped, frightened by the loud noise that was at the end of the alley. They're here! she thought, wanting to flee, but then heard the barking of a dog at the exit. Nope! She would run into the sound, and so she did, eventually reaching the large garbage can, realizing that was where the noise was coming from.
From her experience, it was either a cat, or a raccoon in there. Hopefully one of her kind. "Hello? Mind sharing some food?" she squeaked.

"Well ma'am there is very slim pickings in here but I thought I smelt some tuna in the can over there." He popped his head out to talk. Woooeee was she ever different were those butterflies was lack of food making his brain invent things. "You don't look like you belong in a trashy alley like this miss. More like a reigning meadow goddess then a dumpster theif. If you don't mind me saying."

She smiled, grateful that for once there was someone who was willing to give even the simplest of advice. Brairwhisker nodded quickly and leapt onto the top of the can the orange male was trying to direct her to. Yup. It smelled like food indeed. What was tuna anyways? Her nose told her that it smelled like something really fishy. Was it?
"Oh, thank you!" she chipped in, gently rumaging through the trash trying to find that interesting smell. It was in here. Somewhere. The second part that he said just made her smile. Was that a compliment? It sure sounded like one.
"Aren't we coons born to be thieves no matter what?" You yourself look rather out of place to." There. She found the half eaten can of tuna and knocked it out of the trash pushing it back to the orange raccoon. "I mean, don't you catch peoples' attention because you're so bright?"

"Well..yes but! My survival is probably due to my cunning and stealth, they are the only reason I have not been caught yet most likely that and a great deal of luck. What about you do they not just...follow the butterflies? They are really neat by the way. The only thing I get following me are ticks and they are so much less charming."
He smiled. "There is theivery and then there is opportunity, someone would not leave such things here if they were truly important would they? Do you leave your special things outside behind your tree or den home? No. They are inside safe in a hoard..... On that note I found a spectacular paper clip the other day, multicolored, never seen another one like it."

She chuckled a bit at the comment of her butterflies, and his tick problem. "I do try to stay away from the city as much as I can, but" she shrugged, trying to imagine seeing one of the bloodsuckers taking a bite of her. It was unbearable. "something called me here, and I don't know why. No one really has seen my with the butterflies for I would just hid in a bush or behind a can when I do hear someone, and who even bothers to check what's attracting insects?"
A paper clip. What was that? Was it like a new kind of fruit or something? She was curious to find out, but did not want to seem like a total newbie to town. "Ooo, I would love to see it someday. All I really have hoarded now are the shiny things that Gaians seem to carry around for some reason." she shrugged once more, not knowing the importance of gold. Hey, it was shiny.
"I'm sure that your bugs are delightful in a way. Have you dared to take a bath? In water?"

"Well, I check out whats attracting insects because sometimes its food, but in this case its a beautiful coon. Insects are attracted to good things too."
He chuckled at her mention of baths. "Well when it gets a little warmer I will. I want to be rid of the pests just like they want to stay. Blegh, I hate them. It will feel so good. Hey you find any more of that tuna?"

Briarwhisker totally forgotten about the tuna, and scrambled back to relocate the treasure that she was so close to obtaining. Focus. You can do this.
Unfortunately, she was too caught up with his flattery. He thought that she was beautiful. And with that, she slipped into the can, diving head first. How embarrassing. She was able to get closer to the scent of fish though.
"Got it!" she muffled with something really disgusting in her mouth. Yup, it was the tuna and it was already half eaten.

He smiled as her entire head disappeared into the can. "Well thats definitely pursuing what you want!" he chuckled. "Anything else good in that old can?"
After this, she might be right, he would need a bath for sure.
