I'm just going to say that most people aren't actually shitty. Things are hard sometimes, and depending on where you are/who you're surrounded by, things can look pretty bad for people in general. All that said I wouldn't be here today if I hadn't run into so many genuinely good people over the course my life. It hasn't been easy for me, but it's true all the same.
