Personality: Jenna is an outgoing teenage girl. She has always liked to be around people and has been dancing since she was 6 years old. Though she is young, she is sure of herself and boldly goes along with anything she deems worthy of effort. No matter how hard she tries, she can’t seem to make good, deep, lasting friendships due to episodes in her past. She puts on a mask to people so they cannot hurt her. She is hoping now that she is coming to Professor X’s academy she will make true friends she doesn’t have to be afraid to be real in front of.
History: Jenna had long known she was different. Her calves showed her that and that was only the surface! Her parents were not quite sure what was “wrong” with her; they took her to many a doctor to find what was making the marks on her legs. The doctors could never find an excuse. Besides that, her life was normal. She discovered dance at a very young age and excelled at both ballet and ballroom. Though she always had to hide her legs with stockings or leg warmers, she absolutely loved dancing. When she turned 10, she actually won a regional competition for ballet! She couldn’t have been happier.
When she turned 12, things started to change. Her outgoing personality got her a large group of friends and she was just starting to develop real relationships when her powers began to manifest. She was sitting with her friend Shelly when it first happened. In the cool shade of an oak tree, the two were laughing and gossiping over the days events. Jenna was laughing so hard, the tree she was leaning up against grew new leaves, the old ones showering down on them. Shelly looked at Jenna and Jenna looked at Shelly, both not quite sure what had happened. It was only when she picked up one of the fallen brown leaves was it apparent. As it grew green with life once more, Shelly screamed and got up to run away. “You FREAK! Im telling EVERYONE at school what you are!” Jenna sat there, stunned and broken hearted.
It wasn’t long after that her family moved. They tried again with a new school and Jenna was able to control it fine. She made new friends and continued dancing. When she turned 14, she decided to tell her best friend at the time about her powers. She took her somewhere out of site of the school and picked up an acorn. “Watch this!” She gently tapped the acorn and it began to grow. Just as before, her friend acted out of fear and misunderstanding. Jenna was forced to move again, her parents embarrassed about all the commotion she was making.
Since then, she has kept her outgoing nature but no longer tries to make friends and doesn’t use her powers in front of anyone. If she sees a wilting plant, she will kindly nurture it; if she sees a weed threatening her garden, she will make it wilt. Besides that, she doesn’t know what she is capable of.
Jenna, now 16, has come to Professor Xavier's Academy to study both what she needs to know in life and what she needs to know of her powers. Not certain of the others here, she puts on a mask that she is tougher than she really is. She might look like a delicate flower, but she has some nasty thorns.
