Do you have what it takes to tame the beast?!

" Trainer profiles tell us about your character. You may have more than 1 character (and thus, more than 1 profile) and they can own different Pokemon. Technically, your character doesn't HAVE to be a trainer at all. They can sit at home and enjoy the scenery if they want to, or open up an ice cream shop or PokeSeal stall. It's up to you! "

[You are "applying"]

While you may set up your trainer's thread however you want it, you must keep in mind a few things. This sub-forum is sort of like your character 'applying' to be a 'volunteer' in this research project. It is a closed-research testing stage. (Think of a closed alpha of a game!)

[Trainer Cards are now IC items]

Earlier in Elovve's life, Trainer Cards were a piece of art alongside the Pokemon. As skills have evolved, and staff have shuffled, keeping up with both art pieces has become time consuming. This has been changed to Trainer Cards being an in character item! Blanks will be provided so you can fill them in yourself if you'd like!

[Things to Consider]
1. This isn't so much of a JOURNAL as it is an IN-CHARACTER APPLICATION. You can either keep your trainer's profile here, or copy and paste them into a journal in the Pokemon Data Logs subforum!
2. Your character CANNOT be an active member of any group, such as Rocket, Magma, Aqua, Galactic, Plasma or Flare. Former members are ok as long as you have no plans of returning.
3.. No godmodding or "super-hero" like characters. Also, you can have a douche character, but don't make other people disheartened to role play with you!
4.. Your character cannot be a gym leader or part of the Elite 4, but may be a former member.
5. Your character may also be a retired professor/lab assisstant, if they wish.
6. As stated above, you don't have to be a trainer. You can do pretty much whatever you want to do!
7. There is a 0 tolerance for anthro characters! Like... what??? Pokemaniacs are fine, though!

Basic Information neeeded in a Profile Thread!

Some basic, yet super important info, to include would be their name, age and gender. You can add a nickname, too! Where they are from is some simple yet interesting flavour text for others.

Once you got all the important stuff out of the way, you can continue to write. Personality (how they act with others, general attitude, flaws, strengths, likes, dislikes, etc) is vital for playing with others. It also helps us decide how good of a candidate you are for the research team.
History is optional, unless there is something you want to tell us, hmm?? This could help you in many ways, such as establishing a key point in why a character acts the way they do (nurture vs nature) or something interesting to add in your roleplays.

After your character is fleshed out as a person, you should ask yourself why they volunteered for this project. How they heard about it (with some discretion), why they joined, what they did to prepare, etc may all be added. You can add your own information, too! Goals are a good thing to have, as it will push you to actually get involved. You may just want to sit around and escape your life, or you might want to have the most impressive Pokemon ever. Want to get that icecream shop off the ground, without the hassle of competition? Go ahead! There's always a goal in mind when doing something grand.

While you are allowed to flesh out and fill in your trainer profile as you wish, you can go a step further and fill out this form to make things look legit and cool, like your character is actually 'applying' for the chance to get onto the island.
Quote:

Welcome and thank you for volunteering to be a part of our project! While we can't release much information about the island itself, or any core aspects of our research, we can tell you that you will enjoy your stay and you will be well taken care of. If you ever had the dream of having a Pokemon as fast Jolteon and as strong as Rampardos, your dreams have come true!

Before we can enlist just anybody into our program, we must ask a few questions to measure the worthiness of the applicant to ensure that all of our information will not be under authoritative scrutiny or stolen or used in any damaging, negative way.

First, tell us about yourself.

SECTION A

What is your name? (First name, Last name)
Do you have a preferred name? (Nickname)
How old are you?
What is your gender?
Where are you from? (city, region)

SECTION B

Tell us about yourself.

(Personality, this includes attitude, flaws, strengths, likes, dislikes, etc)

How did you hear about this project?
Why did you decide to volunteer for this project?
What is your main goal/what do you wish to achieve from this project?

Are you afraid?

Please sign below
I, (name), by signing this form, promise to not release any information about the research learned to the general public. I also promise that if I share information privately (ie, family and friends) that they will not share the information publicly, or they will be punished. I understand that telecommunications (internet, phone) cannot reach the other regions due to technology limitations, and that mail by Pidove, Pelliper or Dragonite will be the only way of contacting friends and family.

Thank you for filling out this form! Please mail it to xxxxxx xxxxxx Region, P.O. Box xxxxx. When we have reviewed your application, we will mail you a Trainer Card. Use this card to board the ferry to Elovve. Before boarding, you will be thoroughly checked for anything that may be unwanted on the island, such as Pokemon (native or invasive. We cannot risk bringing over Pokemon from other regions at this time!), illegal items, weapons and other things. Please bring the bare minimum you can live with!
