[Enter Route Surrency]
The terrain here was such a dramatic change from the Grasslands. Here the ground was rough with jagged edgings everywhere and large rock formations erratically spread around. It was difficult to move quickly and Metsuki found himself moving over much of the area in a low stance so that he could steady himself. He hoped that he could find a Pokemon quickly and leave the area. Otherwise if he spent too much time looking around it would become night time and he did not treasure the idea of having to make the trek home in the dark.
"Careful of your footing, Sukotto. This area is treacherous indeed." Metsuki warned as he methodically made his way deeper into the mountains.

After making their way into the entrance of the Mountains, Metsuki and Sukotto would notice a strange looking group of small boulders. Upon closer inspection, they would realize that it was actually a pack of four Pokemon somewhat huddled together.

It came as a shock to Metsuki when the boulders in front him began moving around. He had been so focused on where he was stepping that he almost didn't notice the Wild Pokemon. He didn't recognize the species, however, so he had to check his Pokedex. "So it is known as a 'Geodude'. It seems to be rather formidable. It will have to do. We are running out of time". Metsuki found a small clearing and waved to Sukotto. "Over here! We'll be able to battle them in this open space".

Sukotto had hoped that the party would manage to find a Fighting Type up in the Mountains, but Geodude was a fine Pokemon for Metsuki. He navigated to the open ground as his companion had instructed and nodded, unclasping a Pokeball from his belt and playfully tossing it into the air before catching it. "This looks like it's going to be a tough fight, we don't have anything that works well against these guys. Our Pokemon will need our help to break through their strong defense." The trainer then whipped his Pokeball towards the living rock formation and called out, "Let's see what you can do now that you're on our team, go get'm Repiv!" With that, the Pokeball opened, shooting a beam of purple light towards the ground. Repiv hissed, looking determined to prove herself to the pair of trainers who had managed to best her and her next, "Ekaaaanssssssss!"

The Geodudes continued to huddle together, not paying much attention to the purple serpent that had appeared near to them. There was a single male in the group and he seemed to notice the Ekans, but didn't appear to think that it would have the power or courage to threaten them.

Sukotto wasn't exaggerating about this being a tough battle. According to his Pokedex these 'Geodude' not only were Rock Type Pokemon, but they were also Ground Type. That would prove to be a problem for his Shinx. He would have to rely heavily on Sukotto and his Pokemon in this battle. He wouldn't allow himself to be a hindrance, however, and was determined to do his best.
Metsuki looked at the Geodude that was towards the middle of the formation. It looked as though it was sizing them up and it had a defiant look in its eye. For some reason in the moment Metsuki gained a lot of respect for the Pokemon. It didn't show any sign of fear or resignation at the idea of battle. He flipped open his Pokedex and it appeared, to Metsuki anyway, that it was a male. It was difficult to tell for sure, but he decided on trying to capture that specific Geodude if at all possible.
"Come on, Chidori! You are going to have to give it your all in this battle!" Metsuki exclaimed as he hurled the Shinx's Pokeball towards the Wild Pokemon. It opened up in mid-air and his Shinx gracefully spun and landed on the ground. He turned to face the Geodudes and shot a look towards Metsuki as if to say "What have you gotten me into...?".

Sukotto tried to assess the situation as carefully as he could. His Pokedex was out as well and it seemed as though Metsuki was eying the male in the group. Figuring that they wouldn't have much luck unless they evened the odds a little, Sukotto decided to aim for what looked to be the youngest Geodude in the group. "Repiv, try your luck with hitting that third one. You're leading the charge so do your best to make it a good hit. Let's try using you're Wrap attack!" The purple serpent immediately lunged towards the group of boulders, aiming for the one that it had been instructed to take out. If successful, it would wrap itself around the Geodude as tightly as possible in an attempt to squeeze the life out of it. Repiv was determined to show its new nest what it was capable of.
Wrap – Normal The user wraps their body around the target, holding them in place while squeezing the life out of them. It looked as though Sukotto's Ekans was going to do decent damage to the Geodude. Their defense was very high, however, and because of that this fight was going to be extremely difficult. They may have bitten off more than they could chew. Metsuki doubted that Chidori would have any better luck than the Ekans but...they had to try!
"Chidori! Hit that Geodude as hard as you can with your Tackle attack! Hold nothing back!" Metsuki pointed at the same Geodude that the Ekans had attacked. Hopefully the strike would go through its defense....
Chidori hesitated for a moment before sprinting towards the group of Geodudes. He knew that he was outmatched in this fight, but he needed to do as much damage as possible. Seeing the male standing in the back caused Chidori to feel irritated. He wanted to hurt them as badly as possible.
Rivalry For almost no reason the pokemon begins to get furious, improving their strength; upon closer inspection, you’ll find the cause for competition is the same gendered foe. Trigger – Hourly Effect: When battling a same gendered foe, the user may raise their Attack 2 Combat stages. Tackle – Normal The user throws themselves at the target, their whole weight impacting them. At-Will – 3 Melee Physical Damage Check: 2d10 Effect: 1 Target, Weight Class For each Weight Class the user is above the target, they deal additional 1d10 damage.

The Geodude that Chidori aimed at merely brushed the attack off with its hand, smacking the golden Pokemon to the side. All at once, the pile of rocks began huffing and began to grow angry. Afterwards, the third Geodude grabbed the Ekans that had wrapped itself around her body and smashed herself and the purple creature into a nearby rock wall. The rest of them began slapping mud onto themselves in some sort of odd looking ritual.#1 Mud Sport – Ground After covering the target, or themselves, in mud electricity becomes significantly less effective. EOT – None Ranged None Effect: 1 Target, Coat Mud Sport makes a Coat resisting Electric Moves.
