The culmination of all your work has finally paid off. Be it a life goal or a simple whim. Training for years or your entire life, you are now on Hunter's Island. You have made it passed the screening process that is the pre-exam, problem solving, riddles, and the threat of death is what you had to manage for just the pre-exam. But now it is time for the real deal. Whether you are a new candidate or a returning veteran the only thing you can be certain of is uncertainty. The challenges are always different the rules never the same save for one. Not everyone will pass and not everyone will take the ride home to get another shot at the test if they, people will die and dreams will be crushed on this day.
The trip may have been the rockiest waves or the calmest of seas but the island is finally coming into view and with it dozens of other ships. They all begin to gather in on area, but it isn't on shore. Not a single ship seems to come within ten miles of the sandy beaches. As the last anchor drops and the final boat is in position each captain can be heard clearing his throat in unison. Harmoniously they all begin to deliver the same speech.
“This is our last stop, no ship ever docks on the shores of that island anymore. It isn't safe and I won't be risking my crew or my vessel to such dangerous waters.
This is the last chance if you want to turn back. The water isn't dangerous for ships alone, every year I see many lives taken by the depths. So if you feel you aren't a strong enough swimmer or strong enough man to make it to that shore then stay aboard. Otherwise get off my ship you landlubbers!”Without a moment to spare cheers start across the bows of every ship but if you look around you can see the faces of those that are reconsidering their decisions after that speech. In no time the water is filled with the sounds of those plunging into it's depths and the splashing of those swimming to that shore.
The Hunter Exam has started.
