Personality: Jamie comes off as an outgoing and usually cheerful individual. She may come off as melodramatic and theatrical at times, and she isn’t beyond being a bit of a show off in the process. Hand in hand with that Jamie likes to tease others and have fun, she’s playful and can certainly be clever. Overall Jamie gives off the feel of being an open book, allowing most to assume that there isn’t much else to her character.
However this isn’t entirely true, but is reinforced by her acting skills, perfected by years of performance. Deep down Jamie is quite self conscious, especially now that she is immersed in a society she is still familiarizing herself with. Her insecurities are usually masked by an air of confidence and her usual playful antics. One of her biggest insecurities are her especially poor schooling skills, aside from reading and sufficient writing, Jamie is very weak and not up to par with schooling. As such she tries to evade attending school, claiming it would be too boring and a waste of time. Surprisingly Jamie does have an appreciation for classical literature, especially Shakespeare.
Since leaving the circus Jamie is slightly more insecure and vulnerable. Her vulnerability is part of the reason she gladly accepted Brotherhood membership and she is currently quite impressionable. While Jamie does believe in human and mutant equality, she’s still unsure about how she feels things should be handled. For the first time she has begun wondering about her birth parents and why they left her, only further affecting her thought process. Away from the only family Jamie has ever known she feels lonely and somewhat lost, not that she’s ever let it show and she wants friendship and a sense of belonging again.
History: Jamie was for unknown reasons an abandoned baby, only surviving because she was found by a circus that decided to take the child in and raise her. Lord Bandersnaatch’s Wondrous Travelling Circus, soon became family to the child. The circus was a mix of human and mutant kind and for the most part they lived peacefully and equally. The source of this is considered to be the ringmaster James Bandersnaatch, who was very human, but was in love with and married to a mutant despite her very visible mutations. As a group they decided to name the child after the ringmaster, though officially naming her Jamie to make it somewhat more feminine. They worked as a team and looked out for one another, including Jamie. While no one person or couple took full parenthood of her they all collectively raised her.
It was at about age six her illusionary abilities began to manifest, and this was recognized, especially by the telepaths. As a result efforts arose to help a young Jamie, or “Jinx” as she was affectionately nicknamed, control her powers. She actually grew up well and eventually had excellent control over her abilities. Her education was a focus on performance and upkeep of the circus, though they made a great effort to make sure she could at least read and write, knowing they couldn’t offer her a proper schooling. By age 12 she was a star performer, often incorporating her illusionary powers into her acts. Being raised from birth to be involved with the circus allowed her to excel and of course she seemed to be somewhat of a prodigy. It was quite by accident that during an acrobatic act at age 15 that she discovered her secondary mutation, teleportation. At first she had to stop performing until she could get her newfound ability under control, due to the fact that she couldn’t always control when she teleported or where she teleported to.
Eventually her unusual life resumed as usual, she was a star attraction and a well known performer. There was never any trouble as nobody ever thought to question mutants at the circus, as they expected to see the unusual. Jinx lived a happy and healthy life on the road. Of course when knowledge of mutants became more widespread, people did start to feel uneasy about their travelling circus and slowly but surely not only did their crowds start to dwindle. Eventually they got less and less business and even some who were anti-mutant would show up just to act out against the performers and workers. Realizing it could and likely would get dangerous the choice was made that they could no longer continue.
James was hesitant to set everyone out on their own, but they all collectively agreed they would only make themselves targets by carrying on. Jinx was extended many offers to join others, which is when she realized she didn’t have anything away from the circus like most people did. Due to that fact Jamie declined the offers made and set out on her own into the last place the circus was, New York City. Not realizing entirely what the real world was like, Jinx was in for more than she ever anticipated, especially when experiencing such a large city on her own. She wandered for a while using what money she had when she needed and lasted a few days on her own.
Of course Jamie accidentally attracted too much attention and not the good kind. She got caught up with an anti-mutant group that had weapons. She was caught off guard by the attack and as such was injured. It was then it truly dawned on her just own bad things could her for mutants. She was able to hold her own and get away due to her powers and acrobatic skills. It was shortly after this encounter that The Brotherhood became the first group to extend their hands. With the offer of a place among others like herself, Jamie accepted. After all she had nowhere and nobody else to turn to and clearly needed help adjusting. Jamie started to be known by the alias of Cheshire when she joined The Brotherhood. Of course she still has a long ways to go as she’s only been with the Brotherhood for a few weeks.

Eye Color: Naturally brown, she is almost always wearing pink contacts or charming her eyes to appear pink.
Other Markings/Features: Her ears come to a slight point. Her usual eye makeup is done to look almost cat like with vibrant coloured lips and a diamond marking below her left eye.
Personal Description: Jamie is an average sized teenage girl, of average build. Her body is toned from all the physical activity gets and while her body has a natural feminine curve it is nothing beyond average. Jamie’s skin is tan naturally and it goes well with her brown eyes. Contrasting her more normal features is her pointed ears and naturally purple hair. Of course her features may appear different to others if she wills it Jamie tend to only physically change her eye colour and has never actually dyed her hair or anything to that degree.

Fashion: Jamie has begun to wear slightly more normal outfits when in casual dress. Her hair will usually appear a shade of brown or red and is worn in various styles. Her shirts are usually simple in colour and she will experiment with sleeves and gloves, frequently her top is accented with a vest. She has a variety of pants and skirts she likes to wear, though if she is wearing a skirt it is always accompanied by a pair of shorts so she can still move freely. Usually her footwear is flats or sneakers but once in a while she will wear a pair of boots. Other jewelry and accessories will vary. Even if she dresses more normally she will wear vibrant clothing and her makeup choices remain the same as her uniform. Only occasionally she still wears more eccentric or circus inspired clothing.

Uniform: As Cheshire her uniform may be different from time to time but there are constants. The base is always a black or occasionally white body suit of sorts with a skirt that will vary colours but always match the set colour palette of white, black, purple and teal. She wears a belt like collar around her neck, three belts on her left arm and 4 thinner belts around her waist. Her shoes always consist of boots with the colour varying. Her hair is always purple and worn down, with black laurels adorning it.

Jewelry Worn : The key to her box is always around her neck, usually tucked under her clothes so it goes unnoticed. Other jewelry varies with whatever outfit she is wearing.
Items of Interest: Jamie owns a decorated wooden box, inside are all her most prized possessions. It locks and the key is always around her neck on a strong chain.
Personal Gear: If going anywhere while not on a mission Jamie will tend to carry a small backpack, with a handmade keychain haning off the zipper.
Weapons Used or On Hand: None, if one is needed she will usually just work with what is available as she was never trained in weapon usuage. She can get pretty handy with a baton or cane as they have been used in previous performances.

Skills: Jamie is a skilled acrobat and gymnast, as well as dancer much of her training involved movement and she excelled in it. She is very flexible, not to the level of a contortionist but still more than the average person. Acting, part of her performance skills meant she would need to be convincing in expression, something she really did learn. Even without using her mutant abilities, Jamie is rather stealthy. Not growing up technologically savvy, Jamie used puzzles and crafts to keep herself entertained and she got rather skilled with them.
Inabilities: Having grown up with the circus and always on the go, Jamie never received a formal education. Her only traditional skills in those areas being reading, she can write but it’s a bit weak at times. Jinx is somewhat unknowledgable about normal life and has a hard time fitting in with regular people even without them aware of her mutant status. She cannot cook to save her life. Her knowledge and skill with technology is limited, she isn’t completely in the dark but she isn’t as skilled as the average teenager. For example she's never personally had a cell phone or played video games and if asked to use a computer she would probably be lost. Jamie isn’t a fighter and wasn’t trained in combat, her performance skills allow her to hold her own well enough, but she doesn’t know actual hand to hand combat.

Powers and Personal Weaknesses
Powers:
Illusion: Jamie is a skilled illusionist, due to her ability being used and honed for the purpose of her circus performances. Her illusions are extraordinarily realistic, due to the fact that she can alter perceptions of all five senses. There is a limit to how far her powers can reach and if pushing to the very limits, just as her teleportation it can go as far as 5 kilometers (approx. 3.1 miles).. She frequently uses these powers in everyday life, from making her eyes and hair appear other colours, to looking like she is invisible or even like there is 10 more of her. Of course her powers can also go large scale such as changing how people perceive the entire environment around them (ex. making a regular room appear like the vast outdoors with a light breeze). Though however real her illusions may seem they can do no real damage, even if it feels like they did. For example if she created an illusion of fire and “burned” somebody with it, they would feel the heat and pain of a burn, perhaps even see the injury, but in reality no damage would actually be done.
-While some may realize that the image is an illusion they may still feel like it is real because of how their senses perceive it, which makes it very difficult to overcome her illusions, though not impossible.
-Jamie is unable to selectively affect who sees her illusions. For example if she were in a room with two people cannot make it so only one of these people sees her illusion.
-Larger or more elaborate illusions need more concentration, if she is weakened too much or has her concentration broken the illusion will be broken as well. If she loses consciousness all illusions will fade, even the ones that took her little effort, such as changing her eye colour. The larger scale an illusion is the more of her power it will take as well, so having a large illusion pushing her 5 km limit would be extremely difficult to hold, especially for a longer period of time and Jamie would be exhausted afterwards.
-While her power is all illusions Jamie will frequently exploit this fact when with people unaware of her abilities to mislead them about what her power is. For example she may use her abilities to make it appear that power is to turn invisible, in order to keep people from knowing her true ability or simply to confuse others. Most Brotherhood members are already aware of her abilities so this doesn’t tend to hold true for them.
Teleportation: This ability allows Jamie to teleport at will to different locations. This is limited to a 5 kilometer radius. If she is somehow connected to other objects, living and not, she is able to transport them along with her. Of course this is limited if it is too heavy.
-Currently Jamie is unable to reach the 5km her powers allow due to being less practiced in teleportation. She can only reach 2 km (about 1.24 miles) or occasionally 3 km if really pushing herself. Normally she only teleports short distances such as from one room to another or even just a different spot in the same area.
Weaknesses:
-Her illusions may not always affect skilled telepaths if they become aware of the illusion and her as its source.
-Jamie is not a trained fighter, her style of avoiding attacks and sticking to trying to confuse or throw off her opponent is mainly due to this fact.
-While some may theorize to the contrary, Jamie is just as vulnerable as any human.
-Jamie is going through anvulnerable point in her life leaving her very impressionable and possibly more susceptible to manipulation.
