Misc Features: Her eye color is heterochromatic: Left eye is amber while her right eye is hazel green. There is a bar code tattoo on her upper right arm. She does have few old scars, mostly gunshot wounds. The left side of her torso carries a pistol slug that went clean through, while her right hip and outer thigh is littered with the spread of a shotgun blast. In damp weather her hip will sometimes throb with a dull pain.

Personality: Devina is usually well meaning in her motives, although given the chance she would rather not be altruistic. Self proclaimed as smart of mind as well as mouth, Devina’s main motivations in life have little to do with money, only a drive to be the best at what she does. Her nature can be quite fiery, along with being overly stubborn and quick to anger given the circumstance, especially if alcohol is involved. The humble beginnings of her youth had indeed colored her view of the world. That being said she would be the first to admit that she’s “blue collar girl” and wears that label like a badge of honor. She has little tolerance for extraneous questions and those individuals that go out of her way to waste her precious time. The girl knows how to have a great time, well in her mind anyway, she never paid much attention to the opinion of others. Despite her flaws, Devina will work tirelessly with team members as long as they share the same goals.
Team Loyalty: The one that values her skills most and kicks down some good whiskey once in a while.

Likes:

• Computers – These have come to be the lifeblood of her profession. She has always valued technology and is usually the type to be the first on her block to get the newest personal tech. She also loves to tinker with them and upgrade her personal rig in her downtime.
  
• Fine food and drink. – Fast food fills the hole as they say, but the finer things in life need to be enjoyed. Devina would like nothing more than sitting down in a fine restaurant and ordering whatever she wanted while insulting the snobby waiter to boot. Despite being slightly obnoxious, she would still tip him well
  
• Being independent – No one tells her how to do her job.. Ever. Suggestions are always welcome, but be careful how they are phrased. She has misinterpreted meaning in the past.

Dislikes:

• Dishonesty and half-hearted motives If people are not upfront with her about anything and that includes any kind of bad news, she will almost always trust them less.
  
• Judging her by appearance – She was never quite the pretty in pink type. Making herself look pretty and attractive is always done on her terms and only reserved for special occasions. Most times she dresses to conform to her profession, which has little need for a tight strapless dress.
  
• Obvious answers to silly questions. . Things like this waste her time. There are such things as dumb questions.

Biography: Spending most of your career in the military changes you, especially when war has made its impression on you forever. She enlisted at the age of 17 in the National Guard, looking to get away from the rough streets and dead ends of her childhood. Optimism and patriotism went hand in hand at that age, and she threw herself into her training. She was not allowed on the front lines because of her age, but was assigned to logistics and began work as a mechanic. Her immediate superiors saw her potential, even if Devina couldn’t see it herself. She took to training and absorbed it like a sponge; always driving to read through every manual or trade magazine she could get her hands on. All this was done with the assurance of completing all her assigned tasks on time and under budget.

After two short years working as grease monkey, Devina got her chance. She was given an apprenticeship to learn the trade of engineering, which went far beyond simple repairs and maintenance. Everything progressed well for the next five years and soon enough she was given a commission to become a combat engineer. She was a friendly face around the hangar, becoming fast friends with pilots and grease monkeys alike. She had even had a fling or two with some of these hot shot pilots, but none ever kept her interest for very long.

Not long after her commission, things went horribly wrong. Deployed in support to quell a supposed riot, Things got ugly before she could even recognize what was truly going on. The number of people in the streets proved to be overwhelming and some of the soldiers had abandoned protocol and began firing into the crowds. With the throngs of people overtaking their position, this blunder proved to incite the crowds rather than disperse them, causing a panic within the ranks. Many of the front line ground troops were killed, either by having their weapons taken from them or by simply being trampled by the crush of rioters. Devina held her position for as long as she could, disarming a civilian of his newly acquired Guard issued rifle. She did her best to keep the crowds pinned back while the remaining soldiers withdrew. It was a delicate balance of mercy and aggression. She had never killed before; she was always the one in the rear with the gear. Despite the fact that her training saved her life and it became an “Us or Them” situation, the guilt of each of those deaths still haunts her.

A few weeks in the infirmary saw her back on her feet, but she was not the same woman. A little angrier, and withdrawn, Devina vowed to throw herself back into her work, despite the nightmares and bouts of excessive alcohol use. Her performance suffered as a result and she was put on administrative leave pending an evaluation. Her refusal to seek treatment left little choice for the National Guard and her commission was terminated. That was just over a year ago. During that time she’s done odd jobs here and there and is in the process of getting back on her feet, both emotionally and financially.
