He is as equally charismatic as he is eccentric. He will visit people solely to cheer them up, whether it is appropriate or not. He is protective of his business and will drive other businesses out of business for any threat towards his, at times using underhanded means. His generosity to the common man is a by-product of his ferocity as a business owner to save face with the public, but his generosity does not extend into agreements, bets, or any other form of business. If a handshake occurs in front of him, then a deal has been done, or a bet has been made. Ungratefulness - His generosity knows its limits. People touching him without permission - Despite his enjoyment of watching humans, they are filthy creatures. Competition - He doesn't like competition in business. Losing - This equally goes without saying. Third Party Loan-Sharks - They are a threat to his business. People associate his good name with seedier people. It can taint an empire's legacy. His 'List' - Chancer keeps a book containing a list of people's names with whom he will refuse business.

Bankruptcy - Money is necessary for life. Being Forgotten - Everything he does is to build a legacy of some sort.

His team winning everything in the Grand Prix. - Why else would he own a team if he didn't want to win. To Build an Empire! - This is self explanatory. He wants to be the best of the best to avoid being forgotten. Of course, an empire needs an heir.
 Biography: Royland Chancer's is a rag to riches story. He was born penniless without a father, who had died in some way Chancer never cared to learn, and his mother died before he was ten. As a young teenager, he began as a street bookie taking bets on anything. He initially refused to give credit lines, but ultimately, the older and seedier bookkeeps that took him under their wing forced him to take credit. He rarely had clients that were late on payments, which had a lot to do with his personality convincing them it would be for the best of everyone to just pay the payment. Chancer liked to keep a low profile with his employers, so he would occasionally not pressure a client to pay. As he had always been told, if a client didn't pay, report them to the enforcers. This method kept him looking slightly dependent on his employers rather than independent, which is suspicious, or totally dependent, which is unreliable. It made him appear average in the eyes of his employers, so if anything unfortunate were to happen to them. He would be the last suspect. He thought of it as insurance.
In his mid-teens, he grew tired of working for other people. His employers were disgusting people that would lie and cheat poor people out of their money sometimes refusing payouts that were earned. They also lied in their taxes, because Chancer was the one who edited them without them knowing. He reported them and promptly took all of their betting clients after their arrest, which left him as one of the few legitimate bookkeepers in Undertown and Zoid Landing. He took advantage of the little competition and opened the first Chancer's Bookkeepers casino in Undertown and named it "The Lucky Break," because it was his lucky break. He still holds that gambling house dear, because it was his first. It was there he first warned a man and a woman before shaking hands with them over a joking personal bet, "If you shake on it, you pay for it!" The woman took him seriously, so when Chancer won, she paid. The man, owner of a gambling establishment in Zoid Landing, did not and threatened to accuse The Lucky Break of illegal practices if Chancer pursued the subject. A few months later, "World's Edge" opened under new management after the previous owner was under investigation for illegal practices and sold it off to Chancer to kill suspicion.
Within two short years, he had driven out all other gambling businesses in Undertown and Zoid Landing, and he had bought out "The Podium," which had undergone bankruptcy after numerous poor investments, mysterious accidents, and employee theft. "Royal Flush" was much harder to win, but Chancer found a way. He offered the owner of some land in Royal Olympia some on-the-house gambling tokens. The tokens were a ploy to get the man in the door. The real estate mogul, as it turned out, had a gambling problem that he had never realized, and as everyone does, he got in over his head. Before the man knew it, he owed "The Podium" more money than the land he owned was worth. Chancer offered a deal with the man to exchange forgiveness of the debt for his land. The man initially refused, but Chancer won him over. "Royal Flush" entered construction soon afterwards and opened over ten years ago. Within a year of completion of construction, Chancer had fully monopolized every legal aspect of the gambling industry in all of Olympia.
He recently fired his Zoid Piloting team: "They were no longer worth the investment." Those pilots are no longer in the business, either. He is looking to hire for a new team before the start of the season, but a team name has not yet been decided. He likes to leave that sort of thing up for discussion.Â

The following are conditions of the Contract. This Contract is between Royland Chancer, hereby known as Chancer, and (Employee Name), hereby known as the Employee on (Current Date). These Conditions shall be agreed upon with a formal handshake with Chancer.
(i) Job Function and Duration: The Employee shall be employed as (Pilot, Engineer) for a minimum of 3 seasons.
(ii) Hours of Work: For a Pilot, the work expectation is a minimum of 25 hours a week between matches, preparations, and practices. For an Engineer, the work expectation is 40 hours a week.
(iii) Salary:
For Pilot: Employee’s Per Match Salary will be 30,000. Employee must compete to earn wages and bonuses. In the event of a win, a bonus shall be awarded:
Singles Win Bonus: 20% of the award amount Doubles Win Bonus: 15% of the award amount Teams Win Bonus: 10% of the award amount
For Engineer: Employee’s Per Season Salary will be 140,000. A bonus shall only be awarded to an Engineer only if he/she personally worked on the winning Zoid(s):
Singles Win Bonus: 5% of the award amount per Zoid Doubles Win Bonus: 2.5% of the award amount per Zoid Teams Win Bonus: 1.25% of the award amount per Zoid
(iv) Private Sponsorship and Matches: This contract prevents the involvement of the Employee in unauthorized private sponsorship events that are not related to this team. Private sponsorship events include but are not limited to: additional contract signing, public appearances before an audience, advertisements not associated with Chancer Bookkeepers, etc. Chancer is not required to pay for an unapproved match event. This is enforceable by tasking Employee for any repair damage, denying medical care for injuries caused during these matches, and/or the possibility of employment termination.
(v) Benefits to Employee: In addition to payment, Employee shall have "on-the-house" access to consumables available for purchase at any Chancer's Bookkeepers. Chancer will provide a single space in the team storage hanger to be used for a Zoid that is to be used in matches, if the Employee is a Pilot. In case of injury during a match, Chancer will pay for medical bills.
(vi) Zoid Maintenance & Improvement: Chancer pays Engineers to repair any damages to Zoids occurring during an authorized match. It is at Chancer's discretion to pay for Zoid improvements, including new weapons and upgraded systems. In the event improvements must be made, Chancer will negotiate with Pilot on financial burden of such improvements.
(vii) Leave of Absence: Approval and duration of unpaid personal leave shall be at the discretion of Chancer.
(viii) Dismissal: Chancer hopes that it will not become necessary to dismiss an Employee, however, Chancer reserves the right to end employment at anytime in anyway for any reason. Reasons for release include failure to meet expectations, being inappropriate with other Employees, or request to voluntarily depart. In such an event, an Employee will be compensated for anything owed immediately and released from this contract.
(ix) Voluntary Departure: In the case of voluntary departure, Chancer may choose to enforce this no-compete clause. In the event of that occurring, the Employee will not be able to compete in the Grand Prix for one full season.
(x) Confidentiality: Any exposure of confidential information about other Employees, the Team, or Chancer or his Business during or after employment will result in termination of contract and litigation.
