" So you've been browsing the lab and thought, "these are all so cool, but none scream me". And I'm gonna guess that's why you're here! You want one that's 'you!' "

Customs are done by artist. They will choose when they will open, and they will set their own prices, how they will distribute, who they will take, etc. This forum will be primarily used for Pokemon Artists. They will converse with a splicer to finish your request. Aesceus will be the default splicer, just so that all requests can be made if no one wants the task, or is unable due to some circumstance.

Please read all the info below carefully, so you know exactly what you will get! You can PM the mule at any time to get an estimate on how your custom will grow (if you are confused) or how many adoption tickets it will take.

[How to obtain a custom]

1. Adoption Tickets
*customs requested that are being paid by adoption tickets have priority*
Adoption tickets will be obtained primarily through games, or Bloop Noops Mart for a really cheap price (they will be super obtainable). During an event, there will usually be 1 offered daily. On off event days, they will appear at random. Most commonly they will be dice rolls. The amount of tickets someone has is kept in a private thread for our own records.

If you obtain ten tickets, you can get a free common to common custom.
At twenty, you can get a free uncommon to uncommon custom. Ths includes common to uncommon, and vice versa.
At thirty, you can get a free rare to rare custom. This includes basic to rare, and uncommon to rare.

There is no set amount for legendaries, because they cannot be obtained this way.

2. Events
There will somtimes be events that offer customs. This can include a surprise custom over someone who has an accepted Future Specimen (quest) thread, or a CYO-turned-real, raffles or auctions for a chance to obtain one among other things.

3. Just buy one!
Every once in a while, in off event days, artists may open their custom threads for people who are willing to spend the gold on bioengineering their own perfect pet. Prices will vary depending on artist, as well as style.

[Info: Growth and Evolution]

This is a quick rundown of how pets grow, and how you determine evolution and typing.

The Pokemon that a fusion take the base of is called the MOTHER. The Pokemon that traits are taken from is called the FATHER.

In customs, you can custom a fusion at any stage in life, whether you want it grow from an Egg, or fresh-from-the-cage adult.

The first stage is a Data Estimate, but this isn't rally a "stage". It's a place holder. You will see these in events, they are the sprite based Pokemon. You will only 'get' a Data Estimate if your trainer profile has not been accepted.

After that you will receive an Egg. Fresh from the test tube! Slightly warm, and hopefully not overcooked. It will already be close to hatching and it will wiggle and make noises. For it to hatch, after a week since obtaining, a 'check in' has to be made. This is just a small letter outlining your life so far on the island, and with your egg.

It will then hatch into a Basic fusion. This stage has the lowest level evolution of the Pokemon involved. This is the only way to obtain a fusion with a Phione. If able, for this to evolve, after two weeks, another check in is made.

Things get confusing when a fusion evolves. At the earliest stage, a Pokemon is a Basic. If it evolves once, it's at Stage 1, and a second evolution is Stage 2. This is taken from the way Pokemon evolve in the TCG.

1. If the fusions mother did not evolve, but the father does, the traits will 'evolve', but the base will stay the same. This can cause some irregularity to it's form.
AX-> AY
2. If the mother evolves and the father doesn't, the Fusion will evolve regularly, and the traits will simply follow.
AX->BX
3. If the mother evolves once, and the father once, evolution will be normal.
AX->BY
4. If the mother evolves twice, and the father twice, evolution will be normal.
AX->BY->CZ
5. If the mother evolves once, and the father twice, the middle stage of the father is skipped.
AX->B-Z
6. If the mother evolves twice, and the father once, the evolution of the father will be present in both Stage 1 and Stage 2.
AX->BY->CY

In the last three cases, you may force-stop an evolution, or force an evolution. For example, instead of skipping the middle stage in example 5, you may choose for it to be present instead of the final stage. This does not grant a second evolution, just that you may get the two heads of Zweilous, or the wings of Vibrava, and so on.
If you prefer, in example 6, the basic stage will hang for Stage 1 instead of its evolution for stage 1 and 2.

Confused? Send a PM to the mule for an estimate on how your custom specimen will evolve!

[Info: Typing]

Luckily, this is easier than the whole evolution thing.

The typing of the fusion will depend on the dominant typing in the final splice.
Oh no, guesswork!

If for example a Pokemon is water/ground, and the second is grass/flying (say, Gastrodon and Tropius) the result could end up being Water/Flying, or Ground/Grass. Typing cannot be more than two types, so choose carefully on what types would be more dominant or obvious. The resulting Pokemon in this example could still use all 4 types of moves in it's moveset, despite only being 2 of the 4 types.

We will gladly listen to all arguments about your future specimens typing. If it makes sense, it's all good. If a typing does not seem like it would be dominant or prevalent in the end result, a suggestion may be offered unless you can explain yourself real good.

[Things to consider]

1. You cannot custom a legendary. Legendaries, all of them, are reserved for event specials only.
2. If you do not have a trainer profile, please make one before, or shortly after, your custom arrives. If you do not have one accepted on arrival, you will be given a place holder Data Estimate card until then, before you get an egg.
3. You can only put two Pokemon together. No more, no less. And they have to be different (no Growlithe/Growlithe. That's just a Growlithe.)
4. Your fusion should not have super intricate markings. Unlike most pet shops that offer tribal markings and stars for eyes, please keep the markings traditional to the Pokemon. You can have markings physically painted on, with paint or dye, however. We will accept some markings, such as spots or stripes, depending on the splices used and if it makes sense. Just don't go overboard!
5. Do not forget these Pokemon are bioengineered. Most of them have never been outside before this, and most will begin as test-tubes. They don't have histories or parents!
