Because she was family, the angel was granted permission to come and go as she liked. But it was safe to say her visits never had a good outcome. This was the first time in months that Valentine surfaced from her small, rundown apartment just outside the city. It was the first time she would be confronting the man who made all of this possible. Swallowing hard, the woman pushed open the large throne room doors and headed in. "Lucius." Valentine began, voice echoing off of the solid stone walls. It took a few minutes to muster up enough courage to talk back to the man, but before she could speak, Lucius stood from his seat. "My dear Valentine, what a pleasant surprise." He welcomed in a thick, husky, and all too familiar voice. "Lucius I--" "I was expecting you. You know, I should really thank you for this.""What?" Valentine gasped; Lucius gliding closer. "This." The vampire restated, motioning his arms to the surroundings. "All of this. My kingdom." Valentine could feel a chill down her back as Lucius's lips twisted into a dark, cunning smile. "Without your help none of this would have been possible." "You're a murderer!" "No, my darling. I believe it is you, who's the murderer. You did kill everyone at that facility. You were the one who released me."Valentine shook her head in disbelief, "I would never... I don't believe in killing. I'm not a murderer." "You're a monster.""No..." "No!" Snapping back into reality, Valentine awoke in a cold sweat. It was just a dream, a horrible, horrible dream. Panting heavily, the woman rolled out of bed and onto wobbly feet. "Why..." She whispered, rubbing away tears that threatened to fall from her stinging eyes. Atreus, who had been spending the night in an attempt to avoid the police, woke with a start as Valentine suddenly sat up in bed. It took him a few seconds to realize that she was crying, but once he noticed, Atreus sat up just as quickly as she had. His hair was ruffled and there was some dried drool on the side of his mouth. As he opened his mouth, he felt it crack against his skin. Before she noticed, Atreus used the back of his hand to wipe some of it away, but it was a futile attempt. The evidence could be seen on his pillow.
He gently wrapped his arms around her and tried to wipe away her falling tears. "Hey Val, it's okay. It was a dream." He said in his most soothing voice, but it cracked from his stark morning breath. The sheets under him were tangled around his legs. Not to mention, they were damp from the sweat she had conjured up in the middle of her nightmare.

It took a minute to realize who it was, and that Atreus had spent the night. That's right. Valentine sighed and shifted in his broad arms, turning around to face him. "Atreus..." She whispered, gazing up to the man with gentle eyes. "How could it possibly be okay?" The angel asked with a frown. "How could it be okay when he's killing thousands of people each and every day?" Valentine narrowed her eyes, moving out of the half breed's arms and into the kitchen. Struggling to turn on the sink fossett, the woman huffed out of frustration. "Every night it's the same damn dream..." She said, hitting the handle hard enough to turn on the water. Valentine grabbed a glass from the cabinet and filled it to the bridge, taking a quick gulp before continuing. "And what am I doing? I haven't left the apartment in months, Atreus. I'm so pathetic... Using means of astral projection Lucius made himself visible to only Valentine. To Atreus she would look crazy if she addressed him. He stood behind Valentine who was drinking the horrible tasting city water. "Have you been dreaming of me Val?" Lucius asked smirking evilly. In fact he was not really in the room. If she tried to grab him her hand would go though him.

Mood: Desperate and calm
Location: Valentine's apartment

Atreus didn't even know what her dream had been. Apparently, he responded the wrong way. Valentine, 1. Atreus, 0. He'd have to play catch up. Quickly, he untangled himself from the mess of bed sheets that acted like snakes around his legs and stumbled after her into the kitchen. The cold tiled floor sent chills up his spine and where he walked, the warm imprint of his foot was leftover. "You're right baby. It's not okay. But there's nothing you can do about it. Who knows what that b*****d'll do if he gets you." He said and gently took her hand in his. He didn't want to risk her freaking out if he wrapped his arms around her again. His brown amber eyes shifted to her tiny, frail hand in his. When he looked at it, they really were two different people. Nearly polar opposites in fact.
"I don't want to see you hurt..." He finished and squeezed her hand three times. Atreus looked her dead in the eyes with a sorrowful, desperate look. He looked absolutely pathetic. Like a little kid who was pouting with tears in his eyes asking his teacher for his toy back.

Atreus wouldn't be able to see or hear the ghost of a man, and for that, she was grateful. He didn't deserve to be tortured day in and day out by the man of her nightmares, not when Valentine could handle it. So long as Lucius never haunted Atreus, so long as he never laid a hand on him, she could handle it. She huffed and glanced over to Atreus, expression softening. "I know, I know." The woman said, voice breaking to that of a whisper. She moved over and rested a hand on his cheek, baring into his eyes with her own. "I don't want anything bad to happen to you ei--"Her voice was overthrown by deafening sirens that echoed through the streets outside. Valentine knew what time it was all too well. "You have to go." She whispered, quickly shoving Atreus out towards the door. The woman gave a scornful look back at Lucius before exiting her beloved. "I'll see you tomorrow." She expressed, closing the door behind him. "Why?!" Valentine turned to face Lucius, grabbing the nearest object in the apartment to throw at his mirage. "Why are you doing this?! WHY?" Her eyes brimmed with tears as the lamp went through his illusion and shattered against the hardwood floor. Lucius watched as Valentine ignored him for that moment, all until she heard the sirens go off. He smirked watching as she pushed Atreus out of the apartment. She was a fool. If anything he was safer in her house since he had rigged the ventilation to not let the gasses in as much. It pleased him to watch her close the door on him. He would have to walk all the way home in the poisonous gases. But, what really pleased him was when she started throwing things at him. They obviously past through him and slammed into the wall behind him. In reality he was projecting himself while she slept. This ability of his really took a lot out of him.
"Oh, You don't like what I have created Valentine?" He asked inching towards the black haired woman before him. "I could have sworn you liked living like this, in the dumps surviving off trash and bathing in your own filth." He smirked looking into her dark eyes. He just loved to mock the poor girl. "A lot of people are going to be dying soon. All because of you." He said wanting to just hurt her emotionally. In a way this world he created was revenge for what she had done.

"I bet it pisses you off, doesn't it, Lucius? Seeing me happy with another guy, watching me sleep with him, be with him, it just drives you nuts doesn't it? Knowing that you'll NEVER have me, and I'll always keep fighting you." She scoffed and looked away. Valentine had no strength to stand or move away from the man, she was exhausted. "You'll die a lonely man, Lucius. Heed my warning.... Your wives, your future children, even your queen will all die by the hell YOU created. And me? Atreus and I will live the best life we possibly can have together." A small gasp escaped her lips as the woman looked up at the ceiling. The gas that had managed to get in from the cracked windows and door had left her struggling to catch her breath. "You can't hurt me, Lucius..." She said with a pained laugh, wiping off the rest of her tears. "You don't even have the balls to see me in real life. Lucius frowned ever so slightly before smirking. "You think I don't have the balls to come here right now and pin you against the wall and make you beg for mercy? Don't test me my dear, You will come to dislike the results of the words you said." He said looking at the girl across from him. "I know," He started out. "I will come and visit you right now~" He said now standing there. He stepped forward holding a syringe. "But first." He pulled her arm to him and stabbed it deep into her muscle before administering the cure, "I want to make sure you live to see everything play out. I am going to take from you everything that brings you joy and happiness. " He said before menacingly and ripping the syringe from her arm. He loved to hear her squeal in pain.
He tightened his grip on her arm and threw her up against the wall looking into her eyes. "And, My children, my wives. They will stay with me. and if they decide to leave I will just kill them. So I don't care. But I will not let you live a happy life like you think you are going to live. I will rip from you the very things you cherish. Don't you even think I am lying Valentine." He said staring into her eyes seriously. He began to wrap his hands around her neck. "Is this a dream Valentine? are you dreaming?"

A small gasp escaped her slightly parted lips as the man injected the burning serum into her arm. "Go ******** yourself.." She whispered, glaring into his pitch black eyes. "You'll never get to have children, because no one in their right mind would even dream of it!" Valentine hissed as the man wrapped his thick hands around her neck. She choked, "I will have my happy ending, there's nothing you can do to ruin that." Trying to pry his fingers away from her throat, Valentine coughed. "One day when I have kids, and believe me when I say that they'll be with Atreus, you'll never get to see them. And when that day comes, I'm moving as far away from your crazy a** as you wither away and your kingdom crumbles." She hissed, spitting in the man's face. Lucius in almost an instant second slapped her with all his might and threw her to the ground. "You have guts, But its always the ones with the will to stand up are the ones who will fall." He said kicking her and climbing on top of her. "You can believe in your happy web of lies, But I will make sure he is dead on the marrow. And as for kids, I can have them with whomever I so choose Valentine." He said ripping off what clothes she had on her body. "Even you if I wanted." He said darkly.

Lucius got off the bloody and tired woman. "Know your place Valantine. I will not hesitate to put you in a cage and let the ravens pick at you one by one." He grinned darkly before grabbing her by the chin making him look into her eyes. "I wonder... I want to see just how much pain your body could take before it fails you." He said with a dark and sadistic tone. "But, That will be fore later. My kingdom will blossom with you in or out of it. But it will be dedicated to you. My sweet Valentine." He pulled her into a passionate and forceful kiss biting her lip to draw blood. Her body was scratched up and had many cuts and gouges from moments before.
Lucius stood up and walked over to her gas stove. "Maybe you should move in with me." He said holding a fireball above the stove and turning on all the burners. It would only take a few moments for the gas to attract the fire in Lucius's hand. When that happened what she did have left would be consumed in flames. As well as the apartment itself. And if Lucius recalled. Her best friend was living next door.
