No matter how hard you try."

Linnia walked out into the streets. She would have been enthusiastic about walking outside if the air was not poisoned, To be honest she got sick a lot because of the air. She just wanted to go outside. She had been in hiding for a while since her husband Vain was a paranoid little ********. She looked around the empty streets kicking a piece of rock away from where she stood. It had been a long time since Lucius took over. She missed the old day back in the mansion with all the random s**t that would happen.

The skies looked grey. then again they always looked like the ever since her soon took over. She took a few steps away from the building letting the rubble crunch under her feet. It was sickening thinking her son did this. Or wait, Was that just the polluted air? Linnia started to cough lightly, moving her hands to cover her mouth she sighed and closed her eyes. She knew she needed to stop her son. But she did not know how she would even get to him.

Won't let a world gone mad ever bring me down
Gave everything I had to turn it back around
Cause our time's worth something bigger than both you and me

The wind blew, not enough to actually be called wind...A breeze maybe? Not many would notice, but Kate always did. Her sensitive skin taking up on every little ripple of air. She walked. Scarf wrapped around her mouth and nose as to not breathe in any more of that wretched air. The air that blinded her. Suddenly Kate stopped. She heard footsteps up ahead. Quite a distance. Though...Not even on the same street. But Kate's hearing was exquisite. There was no hiding from her. Reaching into her pack, Kate pulled out a tiny golden whistle. She blew into it.

To the average person, this whistle would make no noise whatsoever. This was after all, a dog whistle. But to Kate, who's senses were heightened due to her intense training and blindness combined. She heard it clear as day. In fact. She used the whistle as a sort of echo-locater. The sound bounced off the walls next to her, threading around the large brick building and through the alley. It hit something though. A petite figure. A woman. 'Why is a woman walking alone out here?' Kate asked herself...not that she wasn't a woman walking alone...but she was a rebel. Trained to take care of herself, trained to be able to walk the streets alone without threat. But did this mean that this other woman was as well? Kate decided to find out.

Pocketing the whistle. Kate followed the mapped out trail she'd drawn out in her mind thanks to the whistle. She walked steadily. No guide dog, no stick. She headed through the alley and walked out not twenty feet in front of the woman. Kate started turning her head in the direction away from the woman. Acting as though she were confused or looking for something. In reality, she was faking. After all, why would she be looking around when she could not see? She was making sure she was braced for an attack, just in case. And seeing what the woman would do. Maybe she was lost herself. And if she were one of the rebels, she'd approach, and have to prove herself as one as Kate would have to do the same. If only Kate had her sight...If only she could deduce who this really was she was trying to get the attention of.

I can't live my life always backing down
I gotta do this right, then they can't make a sound
Cause I'm not here for nothing, least I can say
I stand for something

"Life is never as you expect it to be.
No matter how hard you try."

Linnia knight took another deep breath as she concentrated. She knew her husband would come looking for her eventually but for now she was just having some fun. If she could she would have moved back to Italy where she was born. But There was no way out without Lucius knowing. Her son was a psychotic man she had to stop. She thought back to the days when Lucius was a baby. Always lighting his crib on fire so that Linnia would come pick him up. As a kid she grew worried because of the signs showed how evil he was.

Linnia's thoughts were cut off whens she caught the glimpse of a girl in her foresight. She turned at watched the girl for a few moments. Something did not seem right about this girl. Sure all the rebels have never met one another but Linnia was pretty well known. The Rebel mother who vowed to put an end to her own son. She slowly made her way over. "Its snot safe to walk out here alone. You never know what could happen." She said crossing her arms and frowning slightly at the blind girl.

Linnia herself was half blind. When she was younger something happened she does not talk about. That something caused her to lose the sight in her left eye permanently. Linnia had her throwing knives and weapons on her as always. She would hate to get killed or even captured by her evil son. God, That would be the worst. She had a husband and a weak daughter to protect. And she also had Erela and Felicity her almost family to protect to. But she figured Erela could take care of her and her mother, However Linnia was worried for Felicity's health.

This girl though, This girl before her had a certain aura about her. A strong one. Linnia simply smiled. "You have spirit in you." Linnia commented to Kate. It has been a long time since Linnia had spoken to someone outside her family in some time. "I am guessing you are a rebel? Most people would not dare to walk these streets alone unless they themselves were proud of their ability to fight and survive."

Soon the announcement was played for everyone. Linnia's eyes widened. "We need to get indoors now!" Linnia said listening to the women's voice. Quite frankly she wanted to smack the women because her voice was just that annoying. Soon the sirens started to sound. She started to walk quickly back but could not beat the wave of poisons. Taking in a breath of gas she started coughing up some blood. "Oh ********." She says to herself glad the poison was not having much effect on her. But damn, she felt like literal s**t.

"You and me, we're in this together now.
None of them can stop us now,
we will make it through somehow"

Vain Bradyn Chollet

- - - - - - - - - -

The deafening siren blared as Vain Chollet quickly shuffled through the streets. It took a few minutes for the noise to die down, but the ringing was left over, trumpeting in his ears. Fuck. He thought, coming to a stop to beat the noise out of his head. Vain frowned to himself, he could almost taste the toxins in the air. But that was all thanks to his heightened senses as a pureblood.

His wife wouldn't be able to taste, smell, or feel the radioactive waste that was slowly killing them. And for that blessing, Vain was glad. For who would want to know what was ultimately their death?

Taking in his surroundings, Vain ran a slender hand through his thick, brunette hair. Still a little greasy since his last shower. But those things were hard to come by around here. Any water they had was precious, and anything they had left was used like the Holy Grail.

Drinking water was first, and between three people it was hard to survive on that alone. Hygiene and other necessities came last. They weren't as important. Smelling like death wouldn't kill you, and Vain normally masked that with a very strong cologne.

Sighing, Vain looked around for any signs of life. It dawned on him from a certain face that he hadn't been keeping tabs on his darling, Linnia. It came as a shock to him that she was still roaming about outside, especially since he had lectured her prior. "Linnia!" The man called, waving an arm to grab the female's attention.

"Life is never as you expect it to be.
No matter how hard you try."

Linnia was having a wave of nausea after the sirens sounded. She looked like she was going to pass out. She coughed up some more blood before looking up to the sound of her husband calling her name. "Vain.." She said softly slowly wobbling over to him. "I know, I know your going to lecture me... but can you wait till I can see straight?" She leaned her head on his shoulder and groaned like one would if they were not feeling good or if they had a tummy ache.

The air was still and silent after she hugged him. It was as if people were to scared to say or do anything. that or they were trying to find a way to save themselves. It was a cruel world were man would turn against man in order to save themselves. "Vain, If anything ever happens to me. I want you to drink my blood. I know its hard to come by people with your preferred blood type, So if I am dying later on. You can have my blood." She looked up at him with a soft smile. Some blood ran down her lip as she looked up at him.

Linnia cared more about her family then herself. she loved her family and would die for them if she had to. Therefore she saw it as her job to sneak out without Vain knowing to get things most people would not have. She would kill people for stuff like water food and medicine if she had none. She would even go to the fight matches and fight people to get cures and rare things that no one thinks exist anymore. But as she did that she got sicker and sicker. Lately she's been coughing up blood and catching sicknesses left and right. Surprisingly she found herself virtually immune to the poison Lucius let off.

Joshua Maxwell
Low-Level Rebel

Joshua was walking around the streets when he heard the sirens go off. "Ah, crap..." Within moments, he coughs a little. He goes and finds a place to sit down while figuring out about how well he'll manage during this cleansing. After a few minutes, when his symptoms don't get much worse, he stands back up, accepting that he'll be okay for now. His body was somewhat irritated, but it was a survivable matter.

Annie Bellemere

{Health=3700}

Most of the main boulevard was devoid of people as suspected, but the few that were there she was glad for. If trouble did come her way, her first resort would be to scream. Someone had to become credible for her distress, and if no one aided her well she would have to take more drastic measures. In this apocalyptic society if you aren't cynical then you have no chance of surviving. Splashing rambunctiously through the puddles that reside in the pot holes, the female ignored the eerie feeling consuming her and she wished she hadn't. The sirens pierced Annie's ears as the somewhat desolate street became accustomed to panic. The unfortunate majority of citizens were become scummed to the nearly invisible vapors that invaded the atmosphere. The dead gasses entered the orphan's nostrils forcing her to chock violently as well as produce unending tears. She lost balance and feel to her knees letting the filthy water saturate her almost sole-less shoes and worn down shirt.

It didn't matter if what little clothes she had got wet or dirty because they are way beyond repair anyway. The cat food she eat earlier was now a regurgitated pile of brown and dark yellow on the ground. A line of thin transparent hung off her lower lip as she continued to cough and gasp for air repetitiously. Hopping around aimlessly was not the best thing to keep herself occupied and instead rattled with her insides before this event. She basically brought this despair upon herself by acting like a carefree child, however, now she knows to be more aware. Gas leaks weren't scheduled and the timing of them is never a wonderful sign, but their are ways to learn how to prevent oneself from completely being affected by them. Annie could have at least been covering her mouth so when the poison did come she would have been terribly vulnerable. Still her condition is unavoidable like everyone else regardless of where she was or what she possess. Only the wealth have gas mask to save their lungs and then go about their daily lives like nothing happened.

After the nausea started to dispute, the hunched over kid stood up and examined the devastation. A lot of the residents were now causalities as they laid on the cold stone lifelessly. Soon their carcasses would decay and the city would be unbearable to enter unless you can stomach the stench. Families leaned over their lost ones which the white haired girl could only grimace at knowing that she would never have to experience that pain. Having no family did have its benefits in a twisted way, but being lonely wasn't so substantial either. She assumed it depends on how someone goes about the situation which is keep living or cry and eventually starve to death.

She wiped her fluids with her rough exterior hand and wondered what do next. She could be a good Samaritan and assist the fallen or ignore them all together and go about her day. Annie choose the second alternative, relieving on the selfish philosophy, and strolled along. The constant screams of the suffering were heard, but not acknowledged and she felt ashamed of herself. The dictators sadistic ways were started to conceal her loving nature; fear always won. Living effectively as possible is essential, selfish or not.

Won't let a world gone mad ever bring me down
Gave everything I had to turn it back around
Cause our time's worth something bigger than both you and me

The woman approached as Kate had expected. But the woman addressed her cooly. Not cold, but calm and collected. Like somebody who was confident in their own abilities. She brought to light that Kate was a rebel. Kate simply turned and smiled just a little, not being seen under her scarf. She'd heard there was a drill today and fumbling around to put her scarf on to try to filter the gas was never fun. "That I am" Kate replied. "And I assume you as well" she had no idea who was actually standing in front of her. Having never met Linna before and not being able to recognize her on sight as...well...She couldn't really see her.

Suddenly a loud announcement rang overhead. Kate winced at the frequency it was put at. So loud, so annoying and to her sensitive ears it was magnified ten fold. Suddenly the woman shouted they needed to get indoors and the sirens went off. Kate couldn't help but cover her ears at it echoed. She could hear the direction in which the woman was going and figured that was away from the gas. She went to follow but the gas swept over them. Kate luckily didn't inhale too much. Her unblinking, clear eyes taking in the blast of air yet still doing nothing. Her eyes were beyond useless. This damned chemical made sure of that. Kate coughed just a bit, glad she'd had her friend thread extra layers into the scarf to help just this situation. But she heard the woman swear and cough. The cough was watery, almost like a smoker's cough. But Kate knew the difference between that and something coming up. She was either puking in the back of her throat, or coughing up blood. Both very possible if she breathed in the dreaded plague.

Suddenly another voice rang out. That of a man. Wait...Did he just say Linna? As in THE Linna. Linna Knight? Kate's eyes widened if only a bit in shock. Is that who she was talking to just now. When Linna answered it was confirmed. She'd replied to Vain. Her husband. Kate just stood there as she heard Linna going to her husband. Her footsteps much weaker. After she'd spoke to her husband about blood. Kate did speak up. She gave a small sort of bow to the woman. "Linna Knight. I apologize for letting you get taken by the cleanser. I should have been more conscious in protecting you" This was the rebel leader after all. Without her, Lucius's own mother. They'd be in chaos. Kate lifted her head back up with a slight nod, trying not to draw attention to how she hadn't realized it was Linna in the first place. That would make them think that her blindness was a definite weakness. She figured she should get out of their way. See if she found anybody she could help.

To fight for a cause......

A black form lay up against a ruined building. Heavy breathing could be heard coming from behind the mask as the toxins in the air entered his lungs, bypassing the masks filters. He had awoken only about two weeks ago to leave the comfort of a cryotube for this hellish landscape and people of crude,as well selfish intent. The Commissar's eyes examined the street before him. people walked by without giving him so much as a glance. He coughed, feeling the pain of what felt like thousands of pins enter his body due to the toxins.'So this is what my life was played for, a soldier to die here.' these thoughts passed through his head. He had heard talk about how there where cure's for these things, but access was government only, or you paid for it with a price. He knew he didn't have the money for it and he doubted anything he owned would be worth trading for one of the vaccines. The commissar lay against the brick watching the people pass by. he moved his hand to the ceremonial dagger that hung on his uniform. He gripped the scabbard with his hand and held it tight. feeling as the pain began to reach the stumps of what use to be his arms. These cybernetic ones where nice but it was a shame that they would never be used for there purpose.

Why would you

Luna

[Health - 3700] [Sick - Affected by Toxins] [Hunger - Fine]
Luna could hear the loud sirens going off pounding in her head, she lifted her hands and covered her ears. The instant the sirens ending Luna dropped her hands and pulled her bandana over her mouth and nose. Breathing heavily she looked around for somewhere to hide or conceal herself from the poison. Finding nothing she decided to do the next best thing, approaching a corner she curled into a ball and held her breathe for a long as she could, breathing in only when it was absolutely necessary. Once it seemed like the worst had passed she stood up pressing her hand down over her bandana, she coughed once and then began to cough uncontrollably. Damn, I didn't think this one would affect me so badly... She let out one more cough, and then spit on the ground reveling blood. S**t... Luna wiped her mouth with the back of her hand and began walking down the street passing dead bodies, and weeping family members. At one point a sobbing woman jumped out at her clinging to her clothing, Luna stared down at her as she attempted to communicate. She let out a sigh, grabbed the woman by the hair, and swiftly pulled her butterfly knife out, slitting her throat. The womans eyes rolled to the back of her head as the blood gushed out from the clean cut she had made. Shoving the knife back into her pocket she froze and rapidly started to blink, her vision was blurring, Luna stumbled to walk and had to hold onto a wall to continue, she shook her head and took a deep breath. Which was a mistake. Her lungs filled with the leftover toxins and the odor from the rotting bodies. Once again, Luna began to cough uncontrollably covering her mouth with her hand she stopped and leaned onto a wall until her coughing fit was over.

Luna continued to walk until she saw a young girl, pulling out her knife Luna hid behind an old rusted trash can watching the young girl. She seemed to be under the age of 15 and if she was Luna could get a cure out of her. She silently moved closer to the young girl, keeping a watchful eye on her, noticing the line of vile vomit that lay on the floor Luna wondered if she could take in a child which was sick. Deciding she could still take the child, Luna approached her from behind, her feet moved silently along the rough street avoiding every tiny piece of glass. Once Luna was close enough she covered the young girls mouth and swung her knife up placing it on the girls throat. "Don't move. It would only take one simple slice and you would be dead." Pausing Luna stared down at the top of the girls head, she held her in place with an immense force, not letting her move an inch. "I need you to co-operate, okay? Now listen. I need you to come with me to get a cure. I'm sure you know the process. What do you say? Do your fellow survivor a favor and give up your life. You're going to die either way." Luna put a little more pressure onto the knife allowing it to dig into the girls skin, causing a a bit of blood to squeeze it's way out and slide down the girls throat. "What'da say? Would you like to die right now? A pointless and meaningless death. Or give up your life so that I can live for one more day?" Luna couldn't help but smile a devious smile, as she held the girl awaiting a response, or no response Luna would enjoy it either way.

{Health=3700}

Annie didn't travel far into the trash cluttered alleyway she was near because she knew for a fact that it wasn't safe. However, that didn't stop another predator from hunting her down. If only she had succumbed to the toxins or rolled over and played dead. A cold appendage ceased her and pressed a fresh sharped knife close to her throat. The child frozen as her capture threatened her openly even though she already knew the consequences if she moved an inch. Still the woman craved the blade into the thin layer of skin her neck contained watching the blood ooze down in excitement. The orphan winced in pain as her body began to tense from the manhandling she was receiving, but did deserve. Oh yeah, the selfish philosophy applied to everyone ruthless bystander not just her. How could she forget that and still believe she could remain safe knowing her worth among others. Her age was the biggest flaw because she wasn't seen as a person, but a trading token. Her tears and sympathetic eyes won't work on this psychopathy so of course there is only one option left.

She gave a half nod to indicate to the woman that she would co-operate. Her heart was about to bust out of her chest if the female didn't left her go, she was already scare enough as it is. Could she show a little bit of compassion? Her eyes remained tight shut still muttering coughs from the poisonous gases that sat in her lungs.

"That's a good girl." Luna's smile widened as she lifted the knife off the young girls throat, but before putting it away she swiftly cut the girls cheek, and her thigh. Licking the blood off her knife Luna shoved it into her pocket and let go of the girl. Setting her hand on her hip she stared down both ways of the street, before pointing to the left. "This way, if I remember correctly, it should be the fastest. But not necessarily the safest." Lunas eyes flickered with excitement and danger as she grabbed the girl shoving her in the direction she pointed out earlier. Making sure the girl walked in front of her they pasted a few bodies, at each body she would command the girl to stop walking as she inspected it. Luna didn't need supplies and if she did she wouldn't be checking an old, rotten corpse. All she was looking for was one with a shoe on, a shoe with a lace.Once she found one she quickly pulled it out of the shoe and grabbed the girls hands. Luna put them behind her back and tied them together tightly, but also leaving it loose enough so that blood could still flow to them.

After she tied her hands together Luna kicked the girls shoes to get her moving, she was able to walk next to her now instead of behind. Shifting her eyes towards the girl Luna coughed and spat onto the floor, there was more blood in the spit then actual saliva. She wiped her mouth and nudged the girl. "Luna. Eighteen... I thought you might've wanted to know who the psycho was that tried to kill you... Or maybe you don't give a f***" Luna shrugged and then nudged the girl again, making sure she had her full attention. "I may seem soulless and really mean but I do want to know who the f*** you are. So spill, Whats your name?"

To fight for a cause......

Uriel seemed to come to his senses with some time. The pain was still in his body and he couldn't seem to forget the blare of the sirens that signaled the death of the cities civilian's. Slowly he managed to rise to his feet. h Using his sword as a cane, he pushed himself up, his legs screamed in protest at the action. The energy seemed to make his body begin to cough. The pain was so bad it almost made the Commissar fall back down to where he had been resting. He braced himself against the weapon taking a moment to let the coughing subside. he shook his head before rising to his full height. "best start to look for some one that could possible help me." he said to himself as he started to walk down the street. he turned the corner at the block and found himself standing in front of two people. His eye's took in the information of the situation. there stood a women escorting a a young girl to a destination unknown. 'Maybe they can help me' he thought, watching them approach him seeming not to have seen him yet. He raised a hand towards them in a greeting that he was unsure if this generation understood as a sign of hello. "Um excuse me vould either of you know vhere I could be treated for this horrid cough." he asked his germanic accent slipping out. As he finished he gave out a cough that actually brought up blood. It splattered the mouth piece of his mask. 'wonderful' he though as the heat coming from both his mouth and his blood began to clear his goggles lenses.Instantively his ears began to listen replacing is eyes as every little sound began to filter in. reaching up with his sleeve he whipped the mist from the goggles so he could see again. The two people where still covered in the shadow of the building they stood under as far as he could tell.

Annie Bellemere

{Health=3700}

The female encouraged her in a demeaning way and released her hold to where Annie could inhale deeply and then cough from the intake. The woman wasn't finished with her torture over the girl and glided the knife against her cheek and thigh. By licking her bodily fluids, the woman subjected herself to further diseases, but who was she to tell her how to live her life. She winced from the abrasions inflicted on her skin and before she could tend to them, her capture shoved her along. The teenage was indecisive on what path to take, but since she was so desperate she chose quantity or quality. Grasping her forearm as hard as the lady could, she dragged the child into body infested alleyway. The bodies contained supplies, that a savager like herself, would loot the soul's dry. They obviously no longer needed the equipment, and upon this woman's searching she recovered a frayed shoelace. Although as her attention was focused on the corpses merchandise, Annie discreetly dug her army knife out of her pocket and tucked it neatly into her right sleeve.

Her escort turned her around and roughly tied her hands together like she predicted she would. She girl feet a signalling impact on her heels and like a horse being guided she trotted forward. Eventually, she positioned herself next to her the well groomed individual which was more than perfect for her to start her escape. Annie maneuvered her upper torso to the side slightly so it just looked like she was trying to keep eye contact when she spoke to her. Also the fact that Luna was protecting blood from inneral damage of the gases was an advantage for her. Anyway she had no manors, only profanity, but at least she knew the girl's name and age. Simple knowledge for acquaintances; yet Luna's rambling took her mind off her motions. Slipping the knife from it's concealed place, and then holding onto it tightly as she was pushed once more, she began scrapping at the shoelace. The tool may be dulled, but the shoelace is already in a wrecked state and all it looked like she was doing was inching her bondage placement.

Again, she was rudely accommodated by Luna's repetitive nudging. but she had to keep her engaged with small talk. She humbly answer with timid, "Annie Bellemere. Fourteen. I know it's not my business but are you-" She was interrupted by a window of opportunity. A masked man that pleaded for help decided to interrogate the informally by asking for medical clinic. She looked like a soldier or possibly a veteran, but then again those clothes could be stolen for all she knew. His accent wasn't unmistakable either, it had to be French because every time he pronounced a word that started to W it ended sounding like a V. The girl would have been glad to help him, but she was afraid to speak out of turn and ruin her chances of freedom. She stepped back acting like she was surprised by his sudden appearance putting a little bit of distance between her and Luna. At that moment, the shoelace snapped, but she kept her arms in place in case the girl heard the sound of liberation.

Annie couldn't wait whether the teen acknowledged the man or not now was her chance. Luna and the man were suffering from Exsanguination and she had one explanation as to why she hadn't become the same. Her age. She was younger than the two before meaning her immune system was still holding up, but just by a thread. Once she started to run she would lose blood the same way and fall unconscious, however its a risk she has to take. The two wouldn't dare pursue her considering the condition they were in compared to her. Her arms loosened and she rounded the man running as fast as she could. Living on the streets and running from whomever she needed to made her rather agile and pick up more voracity. She began coughing and the first signs of blood dripped down her chin, but she was already half was down the alleyway and turning a corner at this point.

The white haired girl listened to the cacophony of shoes heading her way, but she dare not stop even if she could barely breathe. Although, unfortunately slowing her pace was necessary because she didn't want to chock on her own blood. The price of this freedom wasn't going to come by so easily, at this point the only way to stay safe in a structured environment in someway was to rejoin the Underground Arena. Maybe Annie could find a way to revolutionize this society into a peaceful one by first acquiring medicine for Luna. The girl did try to kill her and was going to sell her for her own desires, but growing up here of course your thought process will be a little unorthodox. She commiserated her and so she decided to get an antidote for her even if it meant traded herself.
