Our story begins its flow, from the scorn of a thousand endings... ۞ ►A war from long ago tore the delicate fabric of balance, creating a new loop of destruction, unlike any Seireitei has seen before.◄
Since the beginning of time, Quincy and Shinigami have been opposing forces. Wars, genocide, hatred and loathing have burrowed deep into the veins of these two races. Wronging one another, both villains in each other's eyes, for each passing age it seemed the wars could never end... until the last battle changed it all.
That last battle was the downfall of the Quincy, or so it seemed. This end to the war brought prejudice for generations, and the Shinigami were smug in their victory, thanks to past arrogance. No one had bothered to notice that the Quincy truly would get the last laugh. Though the Shinigami were masters of their Zanpakuto, only the Quincy could claim true mastery over reishi. Realizing souls were simply reishi, they offered a sacrifice to tear the soul cycle. The Quincy who gave his life was an unrivaled master of reishi manipulation, so much so that he was able to shred the reishi that constructed the very fabric of the soul cycle. He ultimately created an unimposing, hardly threatening hole, overlooked as insignificant. What it lead to, however, was more significant than even the Quincy knew, a realm unknown to anyone.
Over time, this significance came to light. The hole left gaps in the soul cycle, some souls becoming lost and sucked into the void within. These souls powered whatever lay within the new realm until its inhabitants were strong enough to act. A scourge came through the rift, and decimated Seireitei in an instant. What was left of the realm were ashes, rubble and blood. The mysterious scourge left, taking its fill of souls, and returned back to the void to rest. Every few centuries, this cycle repeated. The last known person to realize what was happening was an ancient Quincy, and he made sure the secret fell into the grave with him.
Each time anyone left in the Soul Society was destroyed. Only those lucky enough to be outside of Seireitei would live, and became the ones to rebuild its foundation, over and over again. History was wiped out time and again, leaving only scattered tomes of those who had been. No one knew the beginning, the real beginning, and their only answer was tucked away deep with an underground Prison. “The Nest of Maggots,” as it was called, was tucked away so deeply underground, a very specific item has managed to escape the decimation of Seireitei. An item that wasn’t so much an item, as it was a person. The first Vizard. And they’re about to be uncovered.
Though now the Shinigami and Quincy have an alliance, and live together, no one has an answer yet. This alliance may not stand the test of time, if there ever truly was one to begin with. Atop that, the Bounts have returned, after ages of hiding, and Hueco Mundo is still looming over all of this. So many questions remain for the new leaders of Seireitei, and the pressure to find those answers consume their lives.
In a time of peace, the Cero Espada once again made his appearance with his subordinates. In the morning of a peaceful day, while the squads went about their usual routines, Garganta opened in the sky and hordes of Hollow filled the Soul Society above the Centre.
The Soul King had come out, dressed elusively and mysteriously as usual and taken the battle into their own hands - while the captains and captain commander fought powerful Hollow and Arrancar all around them.
Captains were found dead after the battle, slaughtered by the Cero Espada and his subordinates, countless were injured.
And while many Hollow were purified, there was one thing that had shocked the entire Soul Society, a development that rocked the foundation of the entire organization of the Seireitei: The Soul King had been captured by the Cero!
Trickery! A Reversal of the powerful spell that Aidan many Soul Cycles ago had used to escape his fate his betrayal had been portrayed - one that trapped the elusive, mysterious being that wore the leadership emblem, silently reigning over and protecting the Soul Society next to Youroka Kage and Captain Commander Yumaki Kuraishi. It was revealed that the Soul King is no ordinary male under the mask - but now rumours are flying thick about their... or rather... her identity thanks to the Captain Commander's twin children who lost control of themselves at the scene as the Soul King was being taken away.
While so many were injured, and now so many squad are without Captains, rescue does not seem possible.
The future is unknown. What will the leaders of the Soul Society do? And can they keep discord from happening? Can the once again raise the morale of those whom they command?
