Pilot Call Sign: n/a
Age: 25
Gender: Male
Birthday: 06/30
Ethnicity: caucasian/asian
Misc Features: small scar on back of head where a bullet grazed him, various scars and knicks on his hands and arms from unskilled work ealier on in his career

Personal Information

Sexuality: Who has time to think about it when you're broke?
Relationship Status: n/a
Personality: Hunter is a reserved thoughtful type. Though he is highly opinionated about people and things he tends to keep to himself unless asked about it, or if he becomes irritated enough that he feels something must be said. The only time Hunter becomes particularly talkative is when he’s talking shop. Anything to do with zoids or zoid repair and customization will garner his full attention. He can go on for hours at a time about it. Despite his disposition, he isn’t uncomfortable in crowds or around others, however he does find it difficult to make small talk and ends up isolating himself anyway, something he hasn’t been able to change since he was an adolescent. Due to his opinionated nature he decides rather quickly whether or not he cares much for a person. This opinion can change but it makes the difference between him offering assistance and at times labor without question or compensation or, him going out of his way to avoid someone. Finally, due to the nature of piloting a zoid, when in the cockpit, Hunter can clear his mind and become incredibly focused on the tasks at hand though as a pilot he is lacking in that he rarely if ever takes risks, instead prioritizing staying alive and keeping the zoid in operable shape.
Team Loyalty: Whoever pays him
Likes:
  • Wild Zoids(zoids with a wild zoid base): it's more fun when the zoid is or seems alive, it's like working with an animal and feels more rewarding to Hunter, though it's twice as painful when they're damaged
  • Domesticated Animals: Dogs, cats, pigs, even if he's never had a chance to own one
  • Alcohol: yes it's bad for you, no it doesn't help depression, but yes it makes you feel great!

Dislikes:
  • Zoids being damaged: of course it's inevitable, and of course he'd lose any chance of a job without it but that doesn't mean he has to enjoy it
  • People who state their opinions as fact: yes that makes him a hypocrite, Hunter has come to terms with that and still doesn't like people like himself
  • Arrogant people: make that hate rather than dislike, Hunter doesn't think much of himself so he projects and hates people who do think something of themselves

Fears:
  • Dying alone: not looking for a relationship per say, but he's scared of dying without ever having known someone he can truly trust
  • His village being wiped out: Hunter was the only young male when he left, for all he knows it's already gone and he's sending money nowhere
  • Spiders: arachnophobia is common isn't it? Those things are just...nasty...

Dreams:
  • Return home: specifically with enough money to help everyone in the village, and to return with his own zoid partner
  • Find the perfect balance: he really wants to learn how to be just drunk enough to be able to still work and operate in society without actually sobering up...still working on it
  • Meet a person he likes as much as zoids: there has to be at least one person

Biography:
Born in a small and quiet village, Hunter was raised to be a farm hand. His family was one of a small group that had managed to survive on its own in a little valley perched between two mountains, quite some distance from the larger cities. The people of the village appreciated not having to deal with the politics of the cities and because they made by so well they never sought to change things. The village had two zoids, mostly used to assist with farming or to transport goods on the rare occasions that supplies were needed from other towns or cities. When Hunter was born it was a relief to the village as he was the first boy born after ten years of girls, though new children were few enough as was.
His childhood revolved around farm work and repairing equipment to make sure everything always worked properly.

On one day, Hunter’s father was out trading, trying to get parts for one of the zoids. Somehow a small trio of bandits found the village, and seeing its size and lack of defenders thought it would be an easy target. The bandits managed to destroy a few houses and even the remaining zoid, mad that the villagers resisted them. Hunter was only fourteen at the time, he saved the older man who had been piloting the village’s zoid and took his place, trying to make use of the small canon mounted on its underside, the only weapon in the village. He missed and only angered the bandits further. As they were about to strike back, a loud roar shook the village. A liger type zoid had appeared from the mountains and lunged at the bandits, dismembering on of the bandits’ zoids. Scared, the bandits retreated and never returned. The liger zoid disappeared back over the mountain leaving the villagers to wonder what had happened. They never found out if it was a piloted zoid, wild or otherwise. Hunter used to swear that the zoid was wild and defending its territory. A claim he never spoke of again after he turned seventeen.

As the years went on, Hunter took more and more interest in learning to repair the one zoid the village had left. His father had grown older and though another few boys had been born since him, Hunter was the only young man in the village. Some people wanted him to stay and start a family but others saw him as a way to find more supplies from the rest of the world. Eventually, Hunter decided he would leave to, partially wanted to find new ways to sustain the village and partially to see the rest of the world. Right before he left his father had an accident with some machinery and nearly lost to use of his left arm. Hunter was torn about leaving but his mother encouraged him to do something with his life he couldn’t accomplish in the village. Her motivations were never clear to him but Hunter did just that.

It didn’t take long on his own before Hunter learned that the city of Olympia was essentially the hub of money and technology. Lured to it like a moth to a flame Hunter travelled there unaware of the mess he was stepping into. Once in the city, Hunter realized just what it was to be poor. Having never discriminated against for his lack of currency, he was unaccustomed to the city’s lifestyle. Eventually he was able to talk a zoid repair shop into letting him apprentice there. His minor skills slowly evolved into craftsmanship and he started moving through the city, learning from different shops and engineers. The whole time the grand prix was in the back of his mind, both as a form of entertainment and the source of his work. Though there was always something else about it that drew in his attention that he could never pinpoint.

Eventually Hunter started picking up real jobs for repair shops, sending money back to his village hoping it would help in some way. He learned how to pilot as a means to move zoids around the shops but found ways to learn the finer points of movement and combat from some of the military customers. Eventually Hunter got into a rather heated fight with a pilot with whom he didn’t see eye to eye with and he was fired. Since then Hunter’s been drifting about trying to find a job and a place to stay. One of Hunter’s old mentors had offered him an old Molga zoid, but beside it being next to useless to him Hunter’s never had a place to keep it, so it sits in the old man’s shop taking up space until he decides to scrap it or Hunter finds a place to keep it.
