Fringe Walkers Fringe Walkers is the friendly neighborhood public house. They not only serve great ales and beer but freshly cooked food too.
They also have a holo-screen for watching the Grand Prix. Match day is probably the most excitement Zoid Landing will see for a while.

Ⓗunter Ⓘto ╒════════════════════════════════════════════════════════╕ The bar was a little dusty. There wasn’t a lot of traffic going through without a zoid match going on. A thin, black haired man of average height sat at the bar of Fringe Walkers with a half pint glass of beer left sitting in front of him. He’d been steadily working on drinking all day, trying to determine if getting drunk was worth spending the money he had saved before being fired from his last job but it was a little hard to make such an important decision when all you wanted to do was get a little more drunk so the initial dizziness felt fun instead of a hindrance. Being practically alone at a bar mid-day was probably in poor form but quite frankly he couldn’t be bothered to care right now. He kind of needed this since he was still unsure of what to do next. He could probably go back and beg for a job from one of his old employers, though a few had already turned him down having heard about his fight with a fairly recognized zoid pilots. No one wanted to hire the guy who pissed off customers. Via one of his old customers, he’d been offered a job with the military as well, but that sort of thing wasn’t in his nature. Plus it seemed like too much work and too many rules. Then again, it wasn’t like he had a set goal either. Without knowing exactly what it was he wanted it was difficult to plot out a next move. In the meantime, it was probably prudent to finish of this beer and start on the next considering he was only halfway through being drunk. For whatever he was, he knew he wasn’t a quitter. After ordering finishing his last beer he decided to cut his losses and ordered a shot. The bartender gave him a sideways look but poured it for him anyway. For some reason or another, the thin man decided to look up and around the room. It was still pretty quiet, a few people getting lunch but that was about it. He didn’t know what caused him to look but something did. He looked down at the shot glass which he was only half aware of a second ago and noticed a lack of a reflection because of how dimly lit his face was. In one clumsy motion scooped up the glass and took the shot, the passing second when the alcohol passed his tongue lingering a bit causing him to regret the cheap drink. It didn’t really matter though since it was doing its job. With that he finally stopped slouching and sat up straight, trying to piece together a thought as to what to do next. He really did need a job, but he’d had too much today to go asking people with booze on his breath. He ran his fingers through his hair, messing it a little as he let out a sigh. This was pretty much what he’d been reduced to. One stupid fight with one a*****e pilot was apparently all it took in this city. He was still a bit sad for the zoid. Mean spirited as it was he was still hoping that pilot would get injured badly enough that he wouldn’t be able to pilot for the rest of his life. Zoids got destroyed, it’s how things worked, but the way this guy acted was terrible. No regard for the machine or the work that went into it. Sadly, this anger just turned back into sadness which caused the thin man to slouch over again. He begrudgingly ordered one more shot and decided he’d keep sitting here until an idea better than “go take a nap in someone’s garage” came to mind. ▀▄█║▌│█║▌│║║█║║▌║▀▄

Riza|||| Strider"It was only an attempt for a laugh.... buzzkills...." She knew she shouldn't but still she couldn't help but walk into the business. Money was a bit hectic right now so buying a cooked meal should be out of the question, but, everyone liked being waited one every once in a while right? After her fathers passing a large surge of bills popped up out of now where, majority medical, others were from folks he owed. He didn't owe much to fellow businesses (thank goodness for that), just that when he got sick he didn't have the mindset to pay and they didn't ask. However, there was no mercy for the child struggling to take over of his repair shop. Nearly everything was paid off, except those stupid medical bills, why was getting sick such a hassle? If only people could chose wither or not such things happened to them.
Not only was going through her fathers finances to make sure everything was in check a taxing task, but everything else as well. There were so many files, so many past clients and jobs she needed to be up to date with. She didn't want to fail her old man by not knowing who the customer was. Some she was familiar with, others were people she had no clue who they were. To make matters worth, clients that came along while Riza was away improving her skills dropped out on her. She was basically being classified as "not qualified" due to her gender. Sexists.... were a pain... People and their stuck up opinions. Ha... she was a hypocrite, this she knew for she had stuck up opinions of certain types as well from time to time. It was human nature after all. She was mentally and physically exhausted getting herself organized with the business that she didn't bother putting too much of a fight to keep those clients. From what she had read most had only gone once before anyways, and they had required simple things. She figured if she began working and making a name for herself they might come back.
Staying up late, waking up early was beginning to take its toll. On top of the matter a certain person was being very persistent in wanting to purchase Fera, the Lightning Saix. Abusing their knowledge of needed medical bills to use as a leverage. Like hell, she'd rather live in a dump then give up that zoid. Tamed by her dad there was no one it would let anyone else other then her or him in there. Fera was basically now the only family she had left. They would stick together now.
With all these troubles weighing down on her, she couldn't resist the desire to eat something warm, freshly made just for her. Taking a sit she smiled a bit forcefully at the manager, he was familiar with her face seeing as she and her dad came there often.
"Riza, how are you?" He asked as he began to already take an order of her favorite dish in the place, she always ordered the same so it got to the point he stopped asking. "From your face not that good huh? Well, to make your day just a tad better this will be on the house. Your father was a good client after all its the least we could do."
Riza's eyes sparkled, something they hadn't done in weeks. She felt like a "spoiled" child again (she was never spoiled unless affection counts). "You're so kiiiiiiind. I'd love that very much."

Ⓗunter Ⓘto ╒════════════════════════════════════════════════════════╕ Now fairly well into being drunk, the thin man sort of lowered his head, hunching over his arms almost like he had fallen asleep. The bartender knew better than to worry about it and started ignoring him. He hadn’t ordered any high dollar items anyway so he seemed to just be another poor drunk, just dressed a little more cleanly. A few more people walked in and out of the establishment before the thin man looked around the room one more time. A girl had walked in and was having a little conversation with the manager. They seemed to know each other and though he didn’t mean to be eavesdropping it was kind of hard not to hear things in such an otherwise quiet room. The few things that stood out were “free meal” and something before that about…never mind, he already forgot what he’d overheard. He finally stood up, a little uneasily to leave deciding he’d trouble the bar at this place long enough. He straightened out his shirt a little before starting to walk out. His steps were deliberate but no as off kilter as one might expect. He was actually pretty used to getting around like this, just couldn’t do it too quickly. By chance, a very familiar smell passed by right as the thin man walked by the table the girl was sitting at. He paused his step a bit and stumbled a little in halting his forward movement. He looked at her for a moment before determining that she was in fact the source of that smell: soldered metal, grease and paint. He took a slightly too deliberate step back to lean against a chair across the table from the girl who’d gotten the free food. He made sure that though he was leaning he was still standing up somewhat straight and not leaning towards her to avoid looking like any more of a creep than he already did. She had red hair, piercings and a look of irritation and sadness. She didn’t look like someone he wanted to particularly offend…beyond however offensive his presence was at this point in time. ”Hi there.” Didn’t take long for him to realize his breath reeked of booze, making it even better that he wasn’t leaning towards her…though she could probably still smell how pickled he was. ”No way to say this that doesn’t sound creepy but you smell like an engineer. You wouldn’t know where there’s any work wouldja? Er…” He was about to go on but he just realized that he’d just done what he said he wouldn’t do while drunk. First getting into a fight with a pilot then being known as the drunk engineer; that would probably look great on a resume. He reached into his outer shirt’s hidden pocket for a cigarette but remembered that he was out. He did however still have a flask three fourths full that he’d somehow overlooked. He decided it didn’t really make a difference at this point so he pulled it out, unscrewed the top with one hand in a motion he was all to skilled at and took a swig. He somehow regained enough balance to stand up straight and use the hand he’d been leaning on to scratch his forehead. His left hand was so scarred that he didn’t even have to use his nails to scratch. He’d had a lot of stupid mistakes as a learner, and at this point it was seeming like it was a lot of wasted time and pain. ”Ah, nevermind. Sorry.” With what was supposed to be his cue to leave, he ended up having to quickly pull the chair he’d been leaning on out and falling into a sitting position. ”Ah crap…I’ll be gone in a second…” He leaned back trying to collect himself for a second. Suddenly it hit him, what he’d forgotten, the girl didn’t sound like she’d been having a good day either. Maybe she could sympathize enough to let him recover a little before walking off. ”But uh, yeah. Name’s Hunter Ito, I’m an engineer too, assuming you are one. If you know anyone who needs a hand put my name in for me…I’ll be gone in a second.” He was sounding a little defeated and realized that he’d repeated himself. It was a damn good thing his parents couldn’t see him like this. He forgot the golden rule of never drinking while sad and alone. ▀▄█║▌│█║▌│║║█║║▌║▀▄

Riza|||| Strider"It was only an attempt for a laugh.... buzzkills...."
Company? That was rare? A hobo too? No he was too clean for just some regular hobo, he was just a drunkard then. He did indeed not lean forward but she still found herself requiring to sit back further. Good thing her food hadn't come yet, it wouldn't have ruined her appetite. Riza didn't know what to say to him at first. The woman merely nodded her head to state she was an engineer. Riza even sniffed at herself.... he was right... she did smell of sweat (not very obvious), oil and metal. Suddenly she became very selfaware of her "not so lady like" appearance. A thought that quickly slipped her mind. There were times and places to make herself pretty, now wasn't one of them.
Just as she thought he was going to leave he didn't, he continued again. Was he trying to be nice? Had he heard of her awful day? If he was hitting on her either A: she wasn't noticing like she usually ended up doing or B: he was failing at it or option C: he wasn't flirting. "Riza... Strider..." might as well give her name. She wasn't rude after all, even if he was taking to her "drunk".
Job? She had her own issues to deal with let alone help someone with their job issues. The woman couldn't help but gawk at him as he sort of rambled then made his leave, only to come then leave again. "Sorry... I don't... uh.." A thought suddenly hit her. "WAAAAIIIIT!" Riza suddenly blurted, standing up, chair falling behind her. "I need you! I can't pay much right now... but it is a start until you can find something else? I could use a pair of extra hands." As she spoke her eyes stared straight at him as if he was a magically answer to her problems. All that was needed was Hallelujah music in the background. "I'm sure a hobo like you would be satisfied with just a roof and food for now? By the way, I walk with a taser so don't get any thoughts." The last bit was a threat since he'd be under same roof as her, but the way she said it was with the same happiness the rest had been said, it was a bit odd...

Ⓗunter Ⓘto ╒════════════════════════════════════════════════════════╕ After a few moments Hunter started to remember what was happening. Amazingly enough, the girl, woman rather, no need to degrade her, though wary didn’t seem openly terrified of the drunken mess in front of her. She even went as far as to give him her name, but with that Hunter decided to make good on his promise and leave her be. He slowly stood up and steadied himself again. ”Nice to meet you miss Strider.” He somehow managed to say, maybe mumbling a little, he wasn’t sure. He took a step hearing her mumble something herself before she yelled for him to wait and she too stood up rather quickly. Hunter looked back a little confused; maybe he’d forgotten his flask or something. He started to blankly pat his hidden pocket to make sure he did in fact have his flask as Riza spoke the words Hunter never thought he’d hear from a woman in any context: “I need you.” Now totally confused Hunter turned back around and started trying to pay close attention to her words. She was…apparently offering him a job. Hunter’s concentrated look gave way to a grin which even broke into a light chuckle for a moment. He was sort of laughing at the fact she would even offer him some sort of job but also that this was apparently something they both needed at the moment. Almost enough for one to think fate might be a thing…or at least enough to convince a drunkard. The way she was looking at him though; he couldn’t help but grin on the verge of laughter. He shrugged his shoulders still in a good mood but wondering if this was actually happening of if he’d just passed out in the street already and was dreaming. ”I suppose, in order…assuming I’m remembering. I don’t need money if you can afford me a bed and food. And I’m not a hobo I prefer bum or vagabond if you must.” Finally not moving he was able to stand up straight. And slip his left hand into his pocket. ”And…I don’t think the taser will be necessary, does it sounds like I have a lot of thoughts going on up here?” He pointed to his head with a little ill-conceived humor. ”Er never mind that. I give you my word you can trust me though.” Now he was a little confused as to where to go. Wait for her to eat or find some way to locate her later. Suddenly a thought crossed his mind though. ”Uh…Riza, this might be asking too much. But you wouldn’t happen to have room for a small zoid at your place would you?” He was thinking back to that piece of scrap metal Molga that the old man had “given” him. If he had a place to keep it he’d at least have the time to think about selling or keeping it without worrying about the old man selling it first. ”Either way, I’ll take it.” He extended his arm to shake on the deal. ▀▄█║▌│█║▌│║║█║║▌║▀▄

In the doorway Brener glared at the man; walking up to the downed man slowly Brener cast a quick glare to the occupants of the bar, those that paid attention anyway. He didn't want anyone interfering as he dealt with the filth in front of him. He grabbed the man by the collar, hauling him off the floor and lifted him into the air. The man began whimpering as he stared into Brener's ruthless eyes, eyes that promised so much pain."Say it again if you dare!" He roared before throwing the man against the counter. "Tell me again how I deserve to die in a gutter! I told you and your boss that I wouldn't be working for him any longer. Our association has ended!!"The man struggled to stand right before Brener slugged him across the face. Grabbing him by the neck, Brener tossed him towards the door. As the man got up again, he managed a sneer. "The boss will have your head for tossing him aside. You won't last long without his help. You're just gutter trash after all, no self-respecting team will employ you, no matter your skills. In fact, why don't I take your König-" Whatever else the man was going to say was cut off by a kick to the abdomen by Brener. The man tumbled through the door as Brener shouted out after him."You so much as scratch Murdock and I'll kill you! And if your boss gets so much as the glimmer of a thought to come after me, I'll show all of you the beast you had leashed for two damn years!"Turning around, Brener stomped towards the bar counter, where only two people sat. By how they were sitting they must have been talking to each other prior to his entrance. Choosing not to disturb them any further Brener sat a little off to the side of them before ordering a strong drink from the bartender. He placed an additional bit of money on the counter to make up for the disturbance and the damage he had caused during his scuffle with the other man. Course, the money had come from the other man, Brener had taken the opportunity to lift the man's wallet as he threw him out of the establishment. ▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃ ✘✘ Zoid: König Wolf RZ-053: "Murdock" || Systems: Optimal || Theme: Here I Stand

Riza|||| Strider"It was only an attempt for a laugh.... buzzkills...."
Taking a sit after picking her chair up Riza laughed at his comment on her hobo thing. "They are the same thing are they not? Just a bit more sugar coated hm?" She stated a bit jokingly with a dash of sarcasm, well perhaps a lot of sarcasm. "Ah... don't worry I was joking, I don't really have a taser," the woman added with a lazy wave up and down of her hand. Though I do have equipment that could easily cube up a man with no trouble she thought while emitting a "sweet" smile, though it would probably be obvious she was not exactly removing her initial "warning".
Slipping a bit of her nice juicy steak into her mouth she gawked at him curiously at the mention of a small zoid. Quickly swollowing she nodded her head. "Mhmm, there is room, though if customers come you may have to move it outside for a bit, just depends. My place is pretty out there, has quite a bit of space between it and the other buildings. Until someone complains I'll leave my crap outside with no problem."
She was potentially going to say more, like give him the address so he didn't have to stare at her eating (always made her awkward eating in front of someone who wasn't), but something caught her attention. Something "exciting" was going on in the entrance of the establishment, better known as flying man throw the door. Another fork full half way towards her mouth she couldn't help but stop and stare. Things got quite chaotic, the brawl moved all sorts of furniture, some even came their way. Her food was in danger! Grabbing her plate with a great speed she dashed aside from the table, holding the precious food over her head.
Not bothering to sit back down she just sort of ate standing up. Between fork fulls she'd speak. "Well... that... was close... almost lost my meal.... so.... the hell that all about?" Seeing herself as a near victim she thought herself in the right to sort of know what was going on, that and she was somewhat curious.

Ⓗunter Ⓘto ╒════════════════════════════════════════════════════════╕ Riza was acting much too nice about this. Honestly though it seemed in Hunter’s best interest not to look a gift horse in the mouth or whatever metaphor might be less offensive sounding in this situation. She mentioned that she did in fact have space for a zoid which made things even better. That scrap zoid would finally have a place to live and Hunter would have a little more time to decide what to do with it. It would be fine left outside too as long as it was okay. It seemed Riza would keep talking for a moment before a very loud slam and thud could be heard from the entrance to the business. ’thud and…things aren’t supposed to thud.’ The thought passed by as Hunter looked to the door to see some man sprawled out over the ground with another crazed man in the doorway glaring at everyone before directing his attention to the man on the ground. Suddenly there was a lot of yelling going on; Hunter wasn’t really with it enough to figure out exactly it was about. The one in the doorway went on to start beating the man on the ground sending a few glasses and a chair flying about the room. Riza reacted interestingly; she started to take great care to make sure her plate was out of harm’s way. Hunter simply ducked as a glass flew over his head. He watched the scene with some level of interest as it was very strange if nothing else…well, maybe not strange, but still, a fight was a fight. The man taking the brunt of the beating kept talking until the crazed man finally beat him out of the building and sat down at the bar. Hunter was just glad he hadn’t been sitting at the bar anymore. Riza spoke up next and questioned the man as to why she had had to protect her food. Hunter just stood up and brushed his shirt of for what seemed like the fourth or fifth time now. He proceeded to scratch his head and then simply sit down as to not have to balance anymore. He was probably going to end up waiting for Riza anyway. ▀▄█║▌│█║▌│║║█║║▌║▀▄

A part of him was always soothed by the slight buzz alcohol granted him. The slight dulling of his sense took the edge of his anger, while the delicious taste of the drink itself heightened his good mood. Oddly enough, Brener drank to relax himself and strengthen his awareness to his instincts. Sometimes he would even pilot his beloved Murdock while under the influence. Right now, it was to calm himself down from the confrontation he had just had.
So focused he was in reining himself in, that it was during his second tip of the glass when the question asked by the young lady near the bar registered. He turned to cast a quick appraising look at her and her friend. The girl looked troubled, as if she had a great weight upon her. Brener wasn't sure what it was but whatever was troubling her was different from the other man. He, calm as he appeared, was angry. Something recently had pissed him off; Brener could tell by the tightness of his gaze and the rigidity of his posture though he stank of drink. These troubled souls appeared to Brener in that instant, as kindred spirits. Shaking the thought from his head, Brener addressed the woman."It's a long story to be honest. Quick version is, I used to work for a scum of a man. Made him a lot of money; but the work I did brought back very little. So I decided to leave that a*****e behind. Except, he isn't exactly happy with my choice. As a result, he's doing his best to bring me back into the fold while sabotaging my efforts to find honest work."Brener gave a sigh as he thought just how badly they had screwed with him. The bastards had threatened and blackmailed over half a dozen teams to precent Brener from joining. Another half a dozen had rejected him based on Brener's colorful past. In a very real and frustrating manner, the man's words had rung true. No one seemed to want to take a chance of Brener, and it galled him."See, I'm a pilot. A damn good one if I may say so. But my path hasn't exactly been a typical one. So now I'm stuck looking for a team to enter the Grand Prix. Not to mention when I left my previous... arrangement I was cheated out of some equipment that was owed. So when that trash thug came around making threats, I got pissed."He grinned as he tilted the glass back and finished the drink. He chuckled, his situation was not ideal. Yet, he had been in worst in the past; Brener was confident that someway he would manage to work around these obstacles. "So there you have it. The quick version. Sorry I almost made you lose your meal."▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃ ✘✘ Zoid: König Wolf RZ-053: "Murdock" || Systems: Optimal || Theme: Here I Stand

Riza|||| Strider"It was only an attempt for a laugh.... buzzkills...."
Hunter seemed to do fine, he stayed quiet. There was no need to say anything was there? She already stated it. For a moment she feared the man would poor out his life story. So, he was the type that got into some bad "deals". Sounded like a hassle. You'd think beating someone up various times would get them to stop. Setting her plate down after finishing her meal with a last large bite she crossed her arms over her chest. How was she to respond to this? There wasn't much for her to say. Riza was going to have to head back soon and continue on with the work she left off. "Ah, a zoid pilot, well if you are looking for a team you may be in the wrong spot... unless... Hunter you said you had a zoid? You a pilot as well?" She questioned raising her eyebrow in his direction. She wasn't trying to force him into a team with the scared fellow, this was a mere continuation of their conversation previously. At least in a way it was, while at the same time not trying to ignore scare face. Hunter said it was small, so it was possible he wasn't a fighter, after all there were more uses for zoids. Riza was merely curious, it was going to stay in her warehouse after all.

Ⓗunter Ⓘto ╒════════════════════════════════════════════════════════╕ Hunter had started unintentionally tilting his head back and forth ever so slightly. The rocking motion was a little entertaining until he realized what he was doing and stopped. He was unfortunately starting to lose the stronger part of his drunkenness and was at least able to notice what was going on around him. The man who’d come in fighting took a shot before answering Riza’s question. Surprisingly enough the man seemed to be fairly civil about it, though he went the long winded route despite calling it the short version. Hunter wasn’t sure he wanted to hear the long version. The man explained that he was in a bad spot, with what sounded like some sort of crime group or something. He did end up apologizing at the end. Riza’s response to this was to respond to the man’s mention of looking for a team. Riza then asked about Hunter’s mention of a zoid. He panicked for a split second and raised his hands up, shaking his head a little. ”Uh, no no. I have a license but I don’t really pilot. The zoid was just a gift from an old mentor.” He quickly calmed back down and let out a quiet sigh. He didn’t want to offend the larger fellow but he just admitted to being in trouble with people who were clearly going through some lengths to rein him back in and he had shown to have a rather violent tendency. Not particularly the type Hunter wanted to be hanging around all things considered. ”Unfortunately I don’t know anything about teams looking to hire at the moment.” He decided to add a little to the conversation but was still a little uncomfortable. He just leaned back in the seat he’d taken and let out another quick sigh. He was debating another swig from his flask but didn’t want to drain it just yet. ▀▄█║▌│█║▌│║║█║║▌║▀▄

This "Hunter" was edgy enough around him, was the man scared perhaps? But of whom? Brener? Or the scum that seemed to dog his steps? The girl on the other-hand didn't seem frightened, more like disinterested. Brener had been the flavor of the second, quickly forgotten. Call it gut instinct, but Brener felt that maybe, just maybe, these two might be a solution."Look, can't say I made the best impression. Name's Brener, pilot and mechanic. Can I offer you two a drink?Gesturing to the bartender, Brener ordered another drink. Perhaps they had other talents, after all a team was compromised of more than just pilots. They would need a top notch mechanic team to support as well as find a sponsor. That part would be far tougher though... money did not grow on trees after all. "Well, any tips on where I can start finding the parts to a team? Manager, sponsors, mechanics, etc..."▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃ ✘✘ Zoid: König Wolf RZ-053: "Murdock" || Systems: Optimal || Theme: Here I Stand

Riza|||| Strider"It was only an attempt for a laugh.... buzzkills...."
Seemed Hunter knew nothing either. Riza was considering heading home after maybe introducing herself to him with a free drink was offered. Free food was something she never turned down, a drink yeah but it was only one drink. She knew the establishment she knew she would be fine (yes she wasn't always trusting of males intentions). "Name's Riza," she stated though her expressions were friendly there were hints of some form of hesitation. AFter the way he crashed in, who wouldn't be a bit cautious? Either it was due to him or some other idiot coming to beat the hell outta him. Girl had to be prepared. "I'm up for a quick drink. He probably is as well." Riza figured she'd leave out the comment on his alcohol breathe. Taking a seat at the bar she waited for the others to follow. The bartender being who he was already was getting things ready. He knew what Riza general drank she he was prepping it when a sudden thought came to his mind. "Oh Riza, I just remembered. Commander Schwartz was in here yesterday, mentioned he has something for you." The woman rose her eyebrows in curiosity. "I'll have to go see him then."

Ⓗunter Ⓘto ╒════════════════════════════════════════════════════════╕ Having said his bit, Hunter thought he was in the clear for now. Honestly, a little bit of him was excited to have a potential place to stay assuming things worked with Riza and the other part really wanted to take a nap and sleep off the booze. The scarred man went on talking though. He mentioned the name “Murdock” which was a little odd. If the man was now speaking in third person, then Hunter would actually have a reason to be worried. The man seemed to think for a moment before finally introducing himself as Brener. He also announced himself as a pilot and mechanic which was interesting, Hunter being as somehow aware as he’d been started to take notes. Though this time he decided not to smell the person to draw his conclusion…that being said that smell was lacking. At the offer of a drink Hunter quickly snapped back to attention and made eye contact with the bartender. The bartender was happy to attend to Riza but almost gave a sarcastic eye roll at Hunter. More whiskey, at least he didn’t have to guess. Brener again asked about teams, he seemed pretty dead set on the idea. Hunter decided to give the question a little more thought this time as the bartender set a whiskey on the rocks down at the bar. The bartender mentioned to Riza that someone had been looking for her. Hunter didn’t give it much thought as he took a gulp of his whiskey. He glanced at Brener for a moment before speaking. ”I’m Hunter by the way. Probably heard her mention it already.” He took another gulp of his drink, he didn’t seem to be savoring it as much as getting into his system as quickly as possible. ”Teams…uh, probably check with shops in the area. More commercialized means better chance at finding something if a team is looking. After all, that’s where pilots inevitably go.” He took a look at his drink but didn’t finish it yet, then went back to talking. ”Otherwise ask around the central district but that would be a little hit and miss.” This time Hunter did finish his drink but when he set it down the little bit of liquid that clung to the ice cubes started to collect at the bottom. He’d have to drink it quickly before it started to taste like watery crap. This place was too poor or cheap to have actual rocks like they should. Back to feeling properly buzzed Hunter said one more thing. ”and no offense, but you’re a mechanic? Your knuckles looked more calloused from punching people than your palms from holding a wrench.” That was a slip from the booze but that was one of the little things someone like Hunter would notice even whilst intoxicated. He didn’t feel like he had to prove anything but if one looked, Hunter’s hands were covered in old scars and fresh callouses; the former from his earlier days of work and the latter from constant work with zoids. He finally picked up his glass and tried his best to get that last bit of amber liquid into his mouth so he could at least taste it before it turned into damned water. ▀▄█║▌│█║▌│║║█║║▌║▀▄
