The Factions of Olympia

The City-State of Olympia has many factions vying for supremacy. It's important to know who is who and who falls where on the ladder of power.

Two Main Superpowers
  • The Judge's Council: The oldest and most loved establishment within Olympia: The Judge's Council. Sitting on their seat of powers at the Courthouse, the Judge's council are basically in-charge of anything Zoid related and are all technically the generals of the National Guard.

They are in constant contest with the House of Corporation over supremacy because even though they have the establishment, the rich history and the people's respect; they do not have control of the money flow through out Olympia.

  • The House of Corporations: The younger of the two major factions; the House of Corporations is a forum where all the Business Owners within Olympia get a chair and get to decided Corporate Law through a democratic system. They pretty much control most of the Money floating around Olympia from their base of operations "The Glass Palace" and are in constant dispute with the Judge's as to how to run the Grand Prix.

The House of Corporations are however, greedy so are not admired by the common man unlike the Judges.

Other Factions
  • The Pilot's Guild: The Pilot's Guild is essentially the Pilot's Equivalent to a Worker's Union. They will help Pilot's the best they can in terms of legal and personal issues. However, each member must pay a per season fee which forms the basis of the Guild's resources.

The fame of Pilot's gives them more political sway then they would usually have. People support the Pilot's Guild more than the House of Corporation's at times purely because of their members.

  • The Olympian Merchant's Forum: Not quite rich enough to be in the House of Corporations, the Olympian Merchant's Forum is a place where merchants and other workers may go and air their concerns. They may also decide whether to strike here. However, they have no real sway in terms of Olympia's politics.

  • The National Guard: Although no one would ever tell you that it is, The National Guard is the army. They defend the City State of Olympia from internal and external threats. They're technically under the direct control of the Judges but they have been trying to break away as their own independent faction for years.

Some people have even hinted that they have been used as an expeditionary force to find settlements outside of Olympia.
