- Malena is quiet and reserved. She's the Elsa to her sister's Anna. She's smart, she's quick, and she has a regal air about her. She's rather standoffish, preferring the company of her books to the company of others. Her work often fills her thoughts and makes her forgetful or clumsy at times. She's very slow to be provoked but her anger lasts once it reaches the surface. She can come off slightly haughty, but really it's the mask she uses to keep people at a distance.

- Malena had ambitions to become arbiter of her house ever since she was a young girl. She wanted to make a difference. She wanted to be a hero. She became one of the best Spellcasters and alchemists known just to become what she aspired to. Even going so far as to write and publish ten books on her craft. Unfortunately, things rarely go as planned, and responsibilities become so much heavier when you're an adult.
There was no way of knowing that the King was as corrupt as he was until you took a closer look at his machinations, which Malena did. And then things got worse. The beginning of the end was when the scions forced her hand, and she had to seal up a good friend, Luke, in a forest, to protect everyone, even himself, from him. Finally, the insane man that she was forced to bow to came for her and her sister, and in a panic to get away from the turmoil that he and the scions were throwing the world into, she and Silena fled; they disappeared.
Years later a pair of sisters that looked much like them surfaced running a potions shop.
