What are Team Rosters?
A lone Zoid pilot can take on the Single and Double Leagues on their own potentially. However, everyone knows that to get somewhere in Olympia it is best to be scouted by the Grand Prix Teams.
Being on a Grand Prix team is simple, you get scouted and invited then sign a contract and you will be taken on as an employee and Team representative in the Grand Prix. It is a lot easier than dealing with things on your own. For starters, the Team will house both you and your Zoid for nothing and help you improve your Zoid through their networks of support staff. Their only conditions is that you fulfill your contract and do your best.
However, their are a few different types of Team that have different procedures. These are:
State Team: The State teams were the first ever Grand Prix teams to be assembled. There are only ever two and they used to be divided between the Judge's Council and the House of Corporations. However, thanks to Unionist policy the two teams are simply Teams that do not have an owner and are put forward by the state. Usually seen as the underdog teams due to them not having the huge amounts of money that a Private Team have through their primary investor. Although, to counteract this problem State Teams are offered free housing within Victor's Village and free Zoid Storage for up to five [5] Zoids.
It is instead up to the State assigned Team Manager to keep the team in check and avoid Bankruptcy. If a State Team does go under, they simply dissolve the team and reopen it under a new name; not only wiping off the debts but allowing the team a fresh start.
Private Team: A Private Team is a team set up with the backing of a single investor or group of investors. These Investors can be anything from Companies to Rich Individual Fans and they basically provide the Team the money to start off and take a cut of the team's profits in order to fuel their own portfolio. Private Teams are an investment and even though it is rare for a Private Team to go Bankrupt; they have been known to be dissolved by their owner's wishes after they see them as no longer worthy of their monetary support.
The Team Manager in the case of a private Team is hired by the Team's Investor/s and reports to them on a frequent basis unlike the State Team managers who are essentially their own boss.
If the company or individuals funding a Private Grand Prix Team go Bankrupt then the team will be dissolved as an asset to pay back their debts.
All Star Team: An All Star Team is a concept that is not yet ready for deployment but is something that everyone in Olympia wishes to see. An All Star Team are the best pilots from each individual team thrown together to make an all new Team. These sorts of Teams would be good for International bouts and would be a mixture of State and Private in terms of their funding and organization.
Alliance: An Alliance is a team completely funded by its members. When the money runs out, the team goes under and the pilots take the fall. How this team is organized depends on the individuals involved.
The risk involved in an Alliance is huge and oft sees them called "Bluffs" as they rarely seem to work out.
Charity Team: A Charity Team takes the bare minimum amount of money from their team's coffers and then donate the rest to good causes. How this team is organized is usually down to the Charity running it.
Some Charity Teams are literally made on the spot for one off events.
Trust: A Trust is a team type that is not only very rarely seen but is also very rarely successful. A Trust is a team that takes funds from Donations or Small-Time support from a group like a fan-club, the public or something like that and compete on that. These teams usually have very little money and are very problematic for all involved.
This Team method is usually reserved as a measure in which to save a failing team.
