wahmbulance If you're playing a quarian/geth then it is especially important you read this! wahmbulance
Below are basically codex entries that specify all updates made to these races in our rp's story.
Our story does take place after the destroy ending, that created a red pulse of space magic that killed all synthetics, only in our story it only affected the reapers. Both the geth and quarians were also saved, thus freeing the geth of reaper control and freeing them to thinking of themselves as individuals rather than a single entity.
THE GETH
Before the destruction of the reaper consensus, the geth were all linked into a single virtual server. The consensus was a server made up of every geth intelligence that was hacked by a reaper entity. This entity was directly linked to multiple terminals, the geth units, and was controlled by the reapers. It corrupted them, and gave them all the same objectives and information, restricting them to minimal individual action without being consulted by the consensus. However, once destroyed, the geth were all free from its control and each intelligence was safely kicked out and assigned its own terminal.
The Geth Network
Now each geth is its own despite the new consensus network that was formed. This is because the new geth network was made different as it restricts a geth from being directly connected to its body and the network at the same time. The geth network is a server that each geth uses to upload any form of data it deems important enough to share with the rest of its race, as the geth can no longer know what every other unit is learning at the same time. This data can be either a video, text, or even personal memory format. A geth can even seek help on a certain issue and take note on other unit's opinions, all that can happen in a matter of nanoseconds (much like Earth's internet or the galactic Extranet but with an infinitely greater amount of processing.)
Geth have even been known to acknowledge "feelings" and aren't restricted to just acting on numbers and probabilities.
Culture
The geth are tied to quarian culture more than ever as they have basically become partner races. They consider themselves as equals and coexist on Rannoch. Geth have been known to carry out rather average lives with quarians, often never even grabbing hold of a military rank or firearm. Now that each is their own, some find war pointless or mercenary life a luxury. It has even become common for geth to disconnect from their units and install themselves inside a quarian's suit to work as their AI. This is a sign of uttermost trust between both races.
THE QUARIANS
With the reclamation of Rannoch, the Flotilla has been dismantled for the most part, leaving only the best frigates and flagships. Civilian life is no longer existent on the Flotilla and the term "Migrant Fleet" is little to no longer used.
Biology
The quarian scientists have began to extensively research their weak immune system, but so far only their supplements and antibiotics have been revolutionized, allowing them to exit their suits in reasonably clean and sterilized areas for an extensive amount of time. Antibiotics designed for Interaction with other races outside their suits, commonly sexual, has also improved to ensure that no infections or diseases are caused (considering that their partner is clean and takes precautions as well.) But scientist predict that it will be many more generations of bio-engineering before their immune systems are back to pre-exile levels. So far the focus on rebuilding their planet and population has extended the estimated years for reworking their biology multiple times.
Culture
One of their most common practices, "The Pilgrimage" still exists in a way despite moving away from living lives on ships with limited resources. Today, most quarian families practice sending their young onto the Flotilla for a few years to serve in the military where they can take on multiple paying jobs, most of them barely life risking like engineering or maintenance. This is done to keep a little of their space faring years known to every generation. The traditional pilgrimage form their exile days is merely history.
Now that Flotilla ships only house military personnel, the addition of "Vas" and "Nar" followed by the ship they serve on to quarian names has also become mainly for military personnel. "Nar Ship Name" was given to a quarian who was born on said ship but has not completed their pilgrimage, while "Vas Ship Name" was given to a quarian after pilgrimage. Today "Nar" is given to recruits still undergoing basic training and are not given "Vas" until they complete training and have either gone trough one live fire mission or have served in the name of that ship for one galactic standard year. Quarians who retire from the military are known to keep "Vas Ship Name" in their name to indicate their veteran status but they can chose to omit it. Weather working for the quarian military or not, the quarian government requires every individual to specify if they work for a ship or not.
Geth are not known to follow this rule, though many do work aboard quarian ships. Usually they give themselves names or are assigned neat code names by their chain of command. The name of the ship they serve on is just printed on their chest piece to indicate their service.
