I finished college two years ago with a diploma in social work (since colleges here reward only diplomas and not degrees). Ever since then, I've been working at Walmart of all places.

So I'm going to university in the fall to get a Bachelor of Arts in History. I know history isn't a program guaranteed to get you a job, but it's one of the things that makes me most happy.

Considering I went to college already for a high demand career and can't get a job in that field, I'm done trying to focus on a job and rather, just making myself happy and being myself.

So I applied in the fall to the university here in town and they've accepted me, so I'm gonna spend the next four years AT LEAST learning about what I love and simply enjoying my life.

I'm a bit late to this post, but both of your options sound like interesting paths. I hope you were able to choose one.
I am wonder though, what does sociology entail?

I am wonder though, what does sociology entail?

It's a social science, so it basically teaches how people live and react to things in society, and how society can shape a person, etc.

However, I decided on archaeology as my minor. It opens a little more doors, such as for positions in an archaeology career, and it excites me a little more.

I was thinking of sociology only because I was exempt from one course, so I'd have to do less classes, but in the end something exciting won out over that.

I'm glad to hear you were able to decide which one you felt most excited about. That's how I decided on the college I wanted to go to, the others just didn't offer the same style of class coverage.

Archaeology, sounds pretty awesome, I assume you won't be doing any Indiana Jones type things when you graduate, but discovering history does sound like a pretty rewarding experience.
