Welcome to RPGStuck, a roleplay where instead of Sgrub/Sburb, you play an immersive virtual reality swords and sorcery RPG.

GROUND RULES

1. No God-Modding! This is pretty basic, right?
2. You must be active in the game! This applies doubly if you're playing both halves of a Cherub player!
3. If you drop out or need to take a break, please let us know!
4. I don't mind if you have multiple characters, but please only make as many as you can ACTIVELY play

BASICS

--- Outside The Game ---

Races - Troll, Cherub, Human
......- You can choose to have one or both sides of a
......Cherub character participate in the game, but if both
......sides play you should be twice as active and they
......should be two completely unique characters with
......different personalities

--- Inside The Game ---

Races - Troll, Human, Carpacian, Soulbot

......- Carpacians have an automatic alignment with their
...... carapace color, a white carpacian is more inclined to
......preform white magic, a black carpacian is more likely
......to preform black magic. This is not to say that they
......cannot be the opposite type, but that they are more
......powerful and effective in their natural alignment
......- Trolls are split between caster and phsyical combat
......inclination by blood color and psionic skill level, the
......lower the blood color the higher the inclination for
......caster classes and psionic ability
......- Humans are the neutral character, not naturally
......inclined to magic or physical combat nor showing a
......preference for black or white magic
......- Soulbots have a natural inclination to physical
......combat, though they can also make powerful technomancers

Classes

Technomancer - Technomancers are a caster class using technology to create the same
effects as a combination of other caster classes. While their powers
may seem limitless, they should have a set amount of skills that they
can keep on hand at any one time, requiring them to ocassionaly rearrange
what spells they keep at ready based on the composition of the party they
travel with. Soulbots are natural Technomancers.

Wizard - Wizards are a caster class limited to dark, arcane magic. Though they can
be aligned to either good or evil, their magic is destructive in nature.
Black Carpacians are natural Wizards.

Priest - Priests are a caster class limited to light, holy magic. Though they can
be aligned to either good or evil, their magic is productive in nature,
normally having defensive effects. White Carpacians are natural Priests.

Mage - Mages are a caster class focused on unaligned elemental magic. They are
capable of alignment to either side or none. Psionic Lowblood Trolls are
natural Mages.

Beserker - Beserkers are a physical class specializing in rage-based hand-to-hand
combat. Like other classes, they are neither good nor evil, but they
are highly destructive in nature. Highblood Trolls are natural Beserkers.

Archer - Archers are a physical class specializing in agility-based long-ranged
combat. They are neither good nor evil, but are also not completely
destructive in nature. An archer may also choose to have first aid skills
Mid-Blood Trolls are natural Archers.

Knight - Knights are a physical class using strategy and agility. While they are
neither good nor evil, that are highly productive in nature with an
inclination to lead groups. The highest of Highbloods are natural Knights

Fighter - Fighters are a physical class specializing in will-based hand-to-hand
combat. They are neither inherently good nor evil and are neither
productive nor destructive. Non-Psionic Low Blood Trolls are natural
fighters.

He powered the husktop on, frowning at the gear required for a simple game. A friend of a friend of a friend had made it, some yellow-blooded programmer, and as interesting as it sounded, he wasn't sure how down he was with taking 30 minutes just to prepare to play. Despite apprehension, he slid the gloves on and pulled the helmet over his face. As soon as the program started, he was greeted with a single word that deepened his frown.

SCANNING

Why was it scanning? WHAT was it scanning?

PLAYER RACE IS TROLL. VIABLE GAME OPTION. WOULD YOU LIKE TO KEEP THIS?

He bit his lip, indecisive. It might be really easy to keep everything the same, but that wasn't what he'd signed on for. "Nah... Let's mix it up."

SELECT CHARACTER RACE

The text flashed, emphasizing its point.

What had the manual said again? He tried to remember.

SUGGESTED CHARACTER TYPE: BLACK CARPACIAN WIZARD.

What? Exactly what was it basing its suggestions on? He wrinkled his nose. "...Soulbot...?"

PLEASE CHOOSE A SECONDARY RACE FOR YOUR SOULBOT.

"Uh... Troll." The program prompted that it was incorporating scanned facial features, asked for several other choices, then finally threw him in to the game without warning.

---

"Woah... Sweet mirthful messiahs..." It felt REAL, like he was actually standing in a meadow. The fact that it was daylight though, that was somewhat disconcerting. He flexed his fingers, amused by the metal texture. Well, if you were going to play an immersive roleplaying game, you should probably act your part.

He straightened up, forced the grin off his face, and practiced what he felt was an appropriate robotic head tilt of confusion. He hadn't strayed very far down the spectrum, but this could certainly be interesting.

One tiring day done with, Lucy had settled down in her room for some play time. The lights were shut off, as if to better help with the immersion of the game she was set on playing, but it was more so to keep people out of her space. She really hated being yanked out of the game just because of some stupid emergency that she really couldn't bother herself with. Certainly, a troll princess didn't have to trifle with such minor problems~! She hummed pleasantly to herself as she slipped on her helmet, pulling the gloves up her arms and breathing out a sigh as she heard the whirr of the equipment starting up. The first sound before her adventures and the last 'real' noise she would have to sit through.

-----------------------------------

Ardor stretched her arms and legs moments after 'waking up', enjoying the lack of flexibility for a moment before getting started. She wasn't sure what she would fill her day up with after that last blow up between her and some Berserker, which was totally not her fault whatsoever. What else was she supposed to do when it was obvious that some gross thing was checking out her favorite Wizard? Well, ex-favorite Wizard since he simply had to wave his ridiculous stick around and scare her out of town. The brief moment of happiness she felt had been extinguished at that memory, leaving a sour taste that just wouldn't do. She adjusted her weapon and double-checked that her armor was properly polished before stalking from the trees she had set up camp in the other day.

A swim always seemed to cheer Ardor up, but what was even better was the completely lost looking Soulbot standing in the middle of the meadow she had walked into. No one else around him, he didn't seem to be waiting for someone, and he looked like a complete beginner. She broke into a wide smile as she bee-lined for him, waving a hand over her head to try to look as friendly as possible. She didn't want to accidentally scare some skittish newbie, after all! “Hello! Are you lost?” She stopped before him and glanced him over again, donning a look of concern as one hand went to her lower lip, “Oh, my, you look completely defenseless. I don't imagine you're going to last very long like that.

((I hope it's okay to assume she's already played before? ='D Unless you'd rather everyone was just starting out! I can edit if that's so. owo))

(That's fine! Whatever level you want is great. biggrin )

---

He was still acquainting himself with the system, trying to determine exactly what being a soulbot entailed, when the Knight ambushed him. Well, to be honest, he hadn't been paying attention. At all. He wasn't exactly the most perceptive person.

He blinked at her for a moment, completely lost for a response. "... I... This isn't a starter area...?"

Oh. That's a great way to start out your game. Show up in a high level area, respond to the first player you meet completely out of character. Next he'd get in to battle without knowing ANYTHING about the combat systems. That seemed the way this was heading.

He corrected his posture, then amended "Analyzing surroundings..."

---

Hui frantically searched through the interface, trying to find information about the meadow he'd spawned in. "Freesian Fields... A level 1 sanctuary... 80% Surrounded by..." He did a double take at that information. "Surrounded by level 50 zones?! " He read on about how new players spawning in this area often faced a tough trial and error of finding the right path out.

---

"There is a 78.59% chance that I am, indeed, lost."

Malija bit her lip as she pulled her gloves and helmet on. She had played this game once before, sure, but she had just been testing it out on a friend's account. How would she do when she was on her own?

With one last look at herself, she activated the machinery.

SCANNING

PLAYER RACE IS TROLL. VIABLE GAME OPTION. WOULD YOU LIKE TO KEEP THIS?

"Nope." She had thought about this beforehand. She had the greatest backstory ever for her character.

SELECT CHARACTER RACE

"White Carapacian Archer."

The game seemed to register her selection and started to- scan her facial features? She thought?

Before she could blink she was in the game.

---

"Hey, cool!" She stretched an arm out, looking at the alien features. Wait. She had to be in character.

"I mean... no biggie. This is kind of boring." There. that was better.

Malija looked around for someone to practice her persona on. Her gaze fell on an odd pair: a blueblooded soulbot, with a fuchsia troll. The highblood seemed to be laughing at the soulbot.

Well, she was never going to get anywhere without talking to someone. She walked over, crossed her arms at them and carefully raised an eyebrow. (Or whatever carapacians had instead of eyebrows. She certainly raised something)

"So. Mind giving me some names?"
PostPosted: Wed Mar 26, 2014 11:57 am

Daedal blinked at the new arrival. "Designation is Daedal Promet."

---

Hui's brow furled. Somehow, the archer seemed just a little familiar. But that was impossible. Carpacians were only in the game. He didn't stop to think about the game scanning facial features, or consider that even in a massive game world with a starting location randomizer, a miracle might happen and a player he actually knew might start in his vicinity.

His own character did look quite a bit like himself, but even the best of friends might be hard pressed to recognize in steel and glass what was normally hidden under a thick layer of face paint.

---

"And yours?"

Oh, wow, this was a total newbie, huh? Ardor felt the beginnings of a smirk that she quickly hid with a turn to survey the area. Oh, yes, he was going to have trouble with this place. She vaguely remembered the previous day and the mobs she had to try to tiptoe around. They had been ten times easier to get through when she had some brainy magic user helping out, but even an experienced knight on their own didn't stand much of a chance. Thankfully, Ardor specialized more with her speed... Not that it would help the new guy out much.

She looked back to him with a giggle at the response, “I'd say! You shouldn't worry, though, because – oh.” The speech she had prepared was cut short as she acknowledged a Carapacian approach them. Her expression dropped as she glanced the other up and down, allowing Daedal to answer first. This was... definitely female, right? Oh, it was so difficult to tell with those stupid Carapacians. She covered her confusion with a sweet smile towards the new girl(?), “I'm Ardor. Why do you ask?

(( ;w; School took me away for most of the last week; sorry! ))

Malija put a hand on her hip.
"You looked like you knew what you were doing, and I miiight appreciate some help. Newbie, here."
She answered without thinking, looking at the soulbot. It- it couldn't be Hui, could it? She shook her head. Definitely not Hui. This guy wasn't even wearing any facepaint! She was being ridiculous.
But then-
If they were both playing the game-
and maybe his character was customized-
but he would totally be a juggalo, right-
even if it was for a game-
he was so attached to his paint that-
She snapped out of her thoughts to see the two staring at her.
Oooh, right, back to the conversation.
"You can call me WM."
She stuck out a hand, wanting to see if either of them would shake it.

"Designation accepted."

---

He fiddled with the interface. Technomancers were versatile, but he hadn't considered that at all when picking his class. Archer and a Knight... What would be the best combination to go with that? What exactly had he gotten himself in to.

---

" Perhaps we should find the nearest town as two of our party members are ill-equipped?
PostPosted: Wed Apr 02, 2014 3:41 pm

Ah, so just another newbie. Ardor happily took WM's hand before Daedal could, which wasn't very hard when the soulbot seemed distracted with something. Probably trying to get the upper hand with some research behind the scenes, but she wasn't going to allow for that. She released WM and clapped her hands together to try to get the attention back onto her, “I'll be happy to help both of you. That was a very good point, Daedal, equipment is important..” She felt herself frowning as she glanced in the direction of the closest and probably safest town to go to. It was also the town she had just come from and maaay still have those angry players hanging around.

She snapped her attention back to the two, “Unfortunately, the closest town is going to be through some pretty treacherous territory. Just stay close to me and.. how fast can you two run?” She put a hand on both of their backs, moving to edge them off in the east direction where a forest lay. If worst comes to worst, she could probably carry one of them if something tried to attack.

d-dangerous territory? Malija didn't like the sound of that at all.
"Oh, um, I can be pretty fast, yeah. What- what's so dangerous?"
She barely kept herself from chewing on her nails.
PostPosted: Fri Apr 04, 2014 1:47 am

Daedal would have blinked - if soulbots had eyelids - but as they did not he just stared. "Do you mean we would have to take the wrong path for starting players to reach the nearest town?"

---

Hui didn't realize that he'd neglected to temporarily disengage motion input as he put his palm to his face. "Miracles..."

A shrill sound came through the door. Oh no.
---

The next few moments seemed to showcase the Soulbot spazzing out as he made motions that, outside of context, made no sense. Luckily audio had been turned off and they didn't have to suffer through the screeching of an ill-tempered and hungry lusus.

The results were somewhat hilarious. Hui stared at the interface, realizing that through the whole tumult with an angry guardian had been motion-recorded through the system.

Finally, Daedal spoke. "I appear to be experiencing a minor system malfunction. It is under control now.
