So, Josh's poll about the "Civil War" Style event has gone down a treat. The votes are unanimous that we should definitely go ahead and begin setting up for the event after the Mini-Event: Hall of Justice for the Legacies.
However, before we can effectively start building the event and constructing the forums, we do need to a little research into how the teams will look. So, let's do it! Basically, vote in the poll whether you are Anti or Pro Government and then post a small message about what you voted and why.
Unless you have an idea do not vote.
Please do not just vote, also post.
Votes are not just for heroes, Villains may also join whatever force they feel would work for them.
If you are unsure which side is which, this is how it works:
Pro-Government: This side support Government legislation that heroes should not only register with the government and be licensed but also that they must unmask publicly and permanently.
Anti-Government: Believe in the sanctity of the cowl and refuse to become puppets to the government.
So let the votes begin!

I'm totally Anti-Government on this one. Ian's already established character supports this facet and actually auto-locks me onto that team. He doesn't want anyone to get hurt by him being the Green Lantern, so, he has to keep his mask on and name a secret. That's what he thinks and that's what he'll do.

While Alan Cypher would keep out of this as he has no secret identity to begin with. Slade will probably be hired by the government to assist in the hunting and tracking of the anti government heroes and villains.

Jonathan would observe the evolving debate before he chooses to pick a side, but he would be one person to take off his goggles in public. There are far more pros to him being Pro Government than Anti Government, and what he saw during the Reign of Fear would sway his opinions to registering himself.
As it is, going Pro Government opens up:
-Potential connections with the Government
-Putting his skills at hunting to the test.
-His business is safe from being attacked by Pro Government forces
-He already has a good reputation in Coast City, as both Jonathan Price and as the Green Arrow. Public opinion would be more positive if he decides to hold a press conference in his hometown.
As it stands, he would not make a move until he sure he is ready to accept the consequences of his actions.

Johnny would be Anti-Government.
He's a rebellious teenager who doesn't take well to authority and doesn't even like having the Wizard's guidance at times let alone an elite's. Though he'd probably benefit from being Pro-Government, he wouldn't be rational enough to see the perks.
Plus, if he reveals that Shazam is actually some poor kid from the streets then it'd just feed to his fear of how the world would react.

I ride the line, and can't help but think of the Incredibles. I'm a bit more anti-government on this one. Heroes wear masks so that they don't end up hurting the ones they love. It is more of an identity protection for their loved ones than for themselves.
The government can still connect with the heroes and they can work together. After all, they are kind of on the same side...kind of.

Thought about it a lot and Dean would choose Pro-Government. There are too many advantages for him and Atlantis to pass up.
Just a list of reasons:
- Strengthen ties with the surface world, which is very necessary after the Reign of Fear event
- As allies, the surface would have to acknowledge and respect Atlantean waters/territory
- Keeps the surface from questioning Atlantis's intentions if they're on the same side
- Atlantis might be able to export from the Kryptonite mines -> possibly mechanize into weapons for the surface and cake in the profits. Idk, I'll have to elaborate with you guys on this one.
- It would satisfy the Atlanteans to know they are putting in the effort to keep superpowered humans in check after the showcase of powers in the Reign of Fear.

Very anti-government here. Sasska's purpose and goal is to destroy civilization and humanity entirely, to which the governmental purposes stand directly in the way. No-brainer.
As to my upcoming, she's also of the anti-government mentality. The entire purpose, as mentioned, of having a mask is to protect your loved ones.

As far as Isla is concerned, she'd definitely be pro-goverment because of everything it has to offer, as opposed to her just learning everything herself. That, and she doesn't even have a mask to begin with anyways.
Selina would definitely be anti-government though, for obvious reasons xP

Anti for Arsenal. He's already trying to keep his identity hidden away from prying eyes like the League. Going public would be too risky for him.
Oliver has no reason to go Pro or Anti when beings full of rage would destroy both, so that counts him out.

IM POSTING NOW GOSH DAMMIT! scream Anyway....Taliana is more than likely going to go Anti simply because of er rebellious spirit and the fact that she believes heroes shouldn't de-mask themselves in order to do their job. But if some changes were made to the pro legislation, she'd sign up for it. Jasmine on the other hand would be Pro because of her want to break away from the LoA, and work as she sees fit.

Leander will probably go Anti, but then again he's not known to the Surface World at all really.
Z'ore would probably go Pro-Government because he might feel that he can see more of Earth hunting down people and see more action.

Musei would probably be pro. He has no reason to keep his face hidden from the world. As for Mira, she'd be pro until they made her try to take off her helmet, then likely go anti due to thinking rules do not apply to her.

Jezebel would be a definite pro-government. With Ferris Aircraft already knowing who she is and with the mere fact that she does not even wear a mask of any sort, she'd be more inclined to side with the government. Hell, she somewhat would already be working for them due to her job with Ferris Aircraft that the company's military contracts.
To be honest, it seems like there are a lot more pro-government people here than there were when talking about the proposed event. Just how it seems right off the top of the head to me.
