Blood Fairy Goddess which brand is the best? i use my own handspun or red heart Honestly? Lately I've been using a lot of KnitPicks yarn. They have a lot of higher quality stuff with natural fiber content for really good prices.

I love using Lion Brand yarn. Mainly because when I order it online it gets shipped through the USPS and I know I'll get the yarn in a timely manner. UPS just doesn't do a very good job of finding our country home, even if they delivered to us last week. lol.

I've only used the Caron one-pound a few times... for one thing, most of my restocking is done at Wal-Mart, which only carries Simply Soft from Caron but damn near everything Red Heart has. So, most of my stuff's done with Red Heart. Even thread. Which...  It gets interesting sometimes. o_O; One thing I noticed about one one-pounds, though -- the black yarn just... isn't. Brand new, it just looks faded. Joann's and Michael's store brands aren't bad, though. The weight's a lot more consistent, color to color, than Red Heart. But then there's the fact that Red Heart just has so many more colors to choose from, so... *shrug* What I'd LOVE to be able to do, to be honest, is to be able to just buy raw wool in bulk and dye it myself. Spin it, too. Yeah, talk about time-consuming. Not to mention smelly. But I'm so picky, and on a budget it's a choice between cheap cotton thread or worsted weight acrylic, it seems like. Or cheap worsted cotton. Which when I'm patient enough, I un-spin, then split it from a 4-ply worsted to two balls of 2-ply... half-worsted? It's about sport weight or so, but since it's 2-ply it is pretty fragile. Oh, the trials and tribulations... lol

Oh, the trials and tribulations... lol dude most of my yarn i spin myself! yes its time consuming but its peaceful and well worth it! begginers make the most expensive yarn rlly and its called novelty yarn! reason ik is cuz wen i go to wool and fiber conventions its like 60$ for 10oz of novelty yarn! no joke! theres a convention in lexington kentucky comming up in may if ur interested

I don't have a specific brand I like. I use what appeals or feels like to me. I don't like scratchy feeling in some of the acrylic yarns. I use them mainly for crafts or throw blankets. Softer yarns for clothing or scarves/hats that way I don't feel itchy or annoyed by the rough yarn.
There is tons of natural yarn on etsy that I really want to buy to make stuff with emotion_drool

The I Love This Yarn from Hobby Lobby seems good - it's acrylic but quite smooth and soft! Right now, I'm using what I have on hand. The Red Heart they sell here is awful and not cheap to boot. There is a store that sells a brand called Teddy Avril that's chunky weight - also acrylic but quite soft and cheap, lol. I'll be very sad if that store closes. I don't have enough free cash to go buy them out though, heh heh. If only... I'd buy a good bit and hoard it. *mwahahahaha!* Speaking of hand dyed yarn, my friend buys her knitting yarn (sock weight and such) from a small business called Grant Creek. It's really pretty and wool I think. They have a Ravelry group.

It's so soft and just keeps getting softer as you wash it. I've been using it mixed with Red Heart for the princess hats I'm making. Works perfectly to get two tones for hair. =3
