Flames of Freedom
Location: A remote location near Sierra, Nevada
History: Thirty years ago, a man named, Dr. Francis Stein, and Striker began a project that they hoped would be the first steps to creating the "perfect mutant soldier". Instead of trying to manipulate and control already existing mutants, the project began by injecting the mutant gene into eggs that would eventually grow into human (somewhat) children. There were 750 eggs that were started and the scientists found a way to speed up the awakening of the mutant gene.
Donors remained anonymous and the subjects were put under the care of an assigned government employee, until such time that the child could become independent and be molded into the 'perfect soldier' at the age of four. The children would view the government employee as their parent, but their true parents remained unknown.
As the child grew, they were trained to follow orders without question, to withstand interrogations (of any form) and to be as ruthless as necessary, but still remain under control. Those who could not make it through the program were disposed of as a test for other subjects. The names of the subjects were not used. Instead, they were called by their file number.
Their first laboratory was in Arizona, but Kali destroyed it when she was ten and the collective group of scientists and mutants were forced to find a new home in Nevada. Through the training and missions, most agents were lost. Kali is the only Meta to successfully complete all of the training and missions. She is the last Meta, and therefore, extremely valuable to Father and the government. The project was shut down nearly twelve years ago, but only the production of more Metas. Those already in training were best left alone.
After Kali's disappearance, Eliot Hayden was sent to hunt down Kali. He had succeeded in finding her and bringing her in each time that she had escaped. With the added help of the chip that is inside of Kali, he can track her and stun her. This chip is a new modification and this is the first time she has escaped while wearing it. The chip can be further modified to act as a "shock collar" for the next time she tries to escape.
Synopsis:
Eliot "Wolf" Hayden is finding his way through New York as he continues his search for S-666. The news has been given a description of Kali and the public has been alerted to how dangerous Kali really is. They have been asked not to approach her, but to call a toll free number and stay away.
A mutant at Xavier's School for the Gifted learns of Wolf's search and informs Kali that someone is looking for her. When Kali asks who, the mutant turns on the news and points Wolf out. Kali says that she doesn't know the man, but leaves in the middle of the night, not wanting to draw Wolf to more mutants.
Johnathan Eko (Wrecker) follows Kali, after she sneaks out. Far enough behind to not be detected by her, but close enough to (spoiler) get captured by Hayden.
Alex (Animal) see's Kali sneak out and follows her. Far enough behind so she does not detect them, but close enough to learn what is going on.
Kali finds an open area where not many 'innocents' will be lurking and waits for Wolf and his crew to find her kneeling with her hands behind her head, in surrender. Alex, (animal), who has been watching this scene from a 'safe' distance flies back to the school to alert Xavier that Kali has turned. Meanwhile John is captured as he is spying on the event.
Kali and John get taken to the remote location, just outside of Sierra Nevada. Kali went willingly, not knowing that someone else had been following, with intentions to destroy the laboratory and the people in it. When she finds out that John has been captured, she is forced to make a decision.
Will she free John,and flee with him? Will she attempt to destroy every trace of Father and the Meta project? Or will she try to do both?
It is the X-Men's job to try and stop Kali from making a decision that she may regret for the rest of her life. Will they get to her in time?
