Inside Tobias's hive were dozens upon hundreds of things (read: Junk) to count and admire. He had every intention of spending his entire afternoon completing that task and enjoying what a great pirate he was. There was no other pirate quite as great as him, especially any gross tealbloods.

He was just dusting off a particularly fascinating rock when there was a creak and groan that sounded suspiciously like someone trying to board his ship.

"Ya hear that, Parrotdad?"

Parrotdad scrawed and shook his feathers.

"Yeah, I did too." Tobias screwed up his face in upset and put his rock back on the shelf. He left his room, pausing to allow Parrotdad onto his shoulder, and climbed the ladder that would lead him onto the rotting deck of the ship. When he reached the top, he peered out the opening cautiously.

"'Ey!" He screeched indignantly at the troll he found. "Find yer own hive! This here's mine!"

Tobias crawled out onto the deck completely and stood with his hands on his hips. He raised a heavy brow and let the silence stretch between them for a second.

"...Huh?"

To be honest he hadn't really understood a word the other kid had said. Most of it sounded like a different language. "Look, you gotta play somewhere else I live here. Find a different ship, mate."

"Are you gon' be 'kay?" Tobias cringed at the dramatics. "I'm pretty sure the only thing nesting in my ship is Parrotdad, mate. An' he just eats fish, not blood."

He tried to walk a bit closer, arms held out. "I'm pretty sure ya've got the wrong hive. I haven't seen anything like what yer describin'."

Tobias's face went comically blank. He may be a pirate, but he had the limits of what he'd believe. Undead glowy things? Maybe not so much. He shrugged helplessly.

"I've got no idea how to prove that to you. I promise I'm not one though. I don't glow and I'm pretty sure I'm alive." He pinched the back of his hand just to make sure it hurt. It did. "Yar, definitely alive."

"Uh huh," Tobias said disbelievingly, following as the other troll kept backing up. He was pretty sure all of this was a lie, he'd never seen anyone who was nearly so... weird. There definitely weren't any unsavory folks on his ship. Well. Except for him. Heh.

He saw the other's heel hit the edge of the ship and had a moment to weigh the consequences of saving vs. letting him fall before he was tumbling to the ground. Tobias peeked over the side with a cheeky grin. "Hope yer eye can see me from way down there, matey," he called, giving a jovial wave.

"I'll keep an eye out for yer.. what did you call 'em? Rainbow drinkers? Yar. I'll keep an eye out and let you know if I see any." He snickered like he was making a joke, which turned into a full on chortle as his head disappeared back into the hive.

Rainbow drinkers. Hah.
