I'm so special ⇢ As far as anyone else is concerned, I tend to be very reserved. It's a rare thing that I'll actually open up and let people see anything other than the quiet that usually surrounds me. I've been through too much in my short years to want to open up to anyone.
It happened like this⇢ I was once a girl of high society. A ballerina by profession, I had the world's eye upon myself at the drop of a pin. I was with the highest of classes... Coveted for my beauty and intelligence, nobody ever questioned why I was where I was. It was my life, my dream. My parents split when I was but a baby, you see... My father turned to drinking, and my mother... She tried her hardest to make sure I would have everything she couldn't have, wanted, or just could give to me. She never once let me know that anything was wrong in my picture perfect world. I didn't know until I was much older, just how much she must have struggled, being an only parent, trying to make up for the weekends that I would "see" my father. The nights I spent hiding in my room, because he was already drunk, and while he was never abusive, he didn't care about taking care of a little girl that just wanted to show him her new dance moves.
It was her, always her... She showed up to all the recitals, held my hand when the blisters on my feet tore open after a ballet class. Not once did my father show. Not until I started for a company, and was making money... I'm sure he didn't mean for it to be taken that way, not at first... But soon enough, it became ever so obvious just what he wanted to get out of me by showing up to my performances. He wanted a piece of the pie, and he couldn't hide those true colors for long. Especially after I paid off any debts my mom had, and got her set up in a nice, not extravagant, but nice, house and car. He just wanted to leech off me, since he'd lost his job, and everything else...
But I was naive, and I didn't question it... It was a child's dream come true, to have both parents around, even if they would never be together again, I at least had both of them around... I didn't realize at the time, just how desperate he was... And that's when my life changed. No longer was I a high society ballerina... No, I was sold, by my own father... I was sold to Trinity Castle after about two years of being bounced around various men, that would have never had a chance with a woman like I am... They tell me now, that while I am free to choose, that staying here means I'm still a pet, but I have to choose the person myself... That I'll never be sold again...
