I can hang with that smile

Hi Everyone! I'm Hate. "hi Hate." I'm a 2003 oldbie, #8436. I like to write, I wait tables for a living, I've got two cats who love me 80% of the time. I also have reason to believe that my presence on Gaia inspired the items named "Thea" and "SD Plus 346 Thea." Perhaps I was their muse, perhaps I'm a narcissist. Not sure. Despite my name, I'm actually a pretty cool chick. 22, phoenix, engaged. Anyway, back in my day, I had loads of friends. Friends coming up to my ears, had so many friends! But while I stayed on Gaia I watched a lot of their "online now" buttons flicker out, maybe for good. I still talk to a few IRL but frankly I think I can count on one hand. :/

I used to be named "Theagan" and went by that for a good long time but then summer 2004 came around and the GD was basically party 24/7... I got this name to fit a certain kind of "prommie" status for names. It was a fad, I was silly. I consider it a little like a tattoo, because having punctuation in a name is actually forbidden- I am i hate her. until I change again. (nevagonnahappen) Now some dude has my old name, and he had a gaia life of maybe two months. I check all the time.

Anyway, favorite things on Gaia? Uh obviously besides shopping, because I love shopping any day, any where, any kind. I love zOMG. I was a beta tester and I bought all the doohickeys and played for hours but corporate broke our hearts sad I still play though, and I think I may like it better now, for only a few reasons: People are there to play, not hang out, so it's easier to find a dedicated group for boss battles and whatnot. That and the people I tend to play with are competent, mindful, and frankly fresher on the game than I ever was. I could pick any random who needs a crew and they're more on it than me, it's nuts. Wish I could alchemize, though. How expensive is that hobby, amirite?

Favorite forums... Well, I think everyone should call Chatterbox home. It's basically amazing in there versus when I made my first post with one of each emoticon in it and no punctuation whatsoever. (godwhy) I used to be in GD, twice. First time was amazing, there was a cool live internet show and i starve. did and I listened to it reliably. There was the rise of the dynamic, persistent troll, who actually got sick of playing the fool (and was also on account 38 or something due to bans) and became an active member with tons of art done at a discount due to popularity and a smokin hot avatar wife.(goldenyears) There were others since (King) Hazy, but they were just a pale shadow. Fall kicked back up and don't ya know? The forum drops to a dead silence with the buzz of working stiffs, school ditchers or cool people from the other side of the world. Hasn't really been the same since.

As an aside, may I just say that staying up super late into the night just to talk to friends on the other side of the world is the most amazing thing that Gaia has gotten me to do, socially. Never would have even connected with these people in my life if it wasn't for Gaia. Gotta admit, that was amazing when you're a kid and technology grows up with you.

The second time it was something like my junior/senior year in high school and I'm taking AP classes and I'm slowly losing my mind to academic overload, and the next thing I know I'm not typing my essays, I'm posting in every thread I can or making my own, to make my presence known. I managed to actually gain a small bit of popularity and a couple cute anon donations, but it made me happy. I don't even need to tell you my thought process, if you've been 17 in high school you know whats up.

After a hiatus I noticed I could go to a forum called "heaven" and for the longest time I'm like "uh is anyone else seeing this?" It was nice in there, but "Heaven" got a bit too literal when I started seeing old faces and names from years ago surface in threads. Now I just kinda putter along, from thread to thread, lurking. A post here, a vote there, give you a tip cause I know you, that kinda thing. I don't dare enter the art forums now because I couldn't fathom what they're charging these days, although I think AT got a little nicer, though kinda forced.

I should wrap it up. XD So basically what I'm saying is, friend me because I'm fun, fashionable, won't fail you in zOMG, I'm pretty nice and apparently full of words. Back in my day we didn't spoon feed, so AMA, right?
