//Single//daughter of ATHENA//Demigod//
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Marietta had taken it upon herself to relieve some stress down at the Arena. She didn't really know why she had been so on edge lately. Nothing had happened to her, no one had angered her, she was just touchy and needed to destroy dummies. Picking up her bow, she loaded two arrows at once and shot them both off. They both hit there mark at blinding speeds and Marietta let out the breath she had been holding. She was alone at the time, which was a commonality for her. Aside from Ron, she hadn't had comfortable conversations with many of the campers. She wouldn't call herself alone and friendless, but she technically was. This didn't bother her in the least though. She was more of a solitary person than anything. Loading her bow with another arrow again, she practiced quick aim. She turned away from the dummy and took a deep sigh before spinning around and shooting off the arrow to land dead center of the dummies nonexistent heart. Scraping her fingers through her soft blonde waves, she wiped the beads of sweat that had formed on her brow. It was slightly hot on this sunny afternoon. Even being clad in short shorts and a flowing tank top, she was still uncomfortably warm. She could feel her shoulders start to burn with the constant contact of sun rays and she knew that she would need some lotion when this was over. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

'Wow, great time to go to the arena.' Sergio thought to himself, thinking that he would be alone for some peace and quiet and a bit of knife throwing. Ever since coming back from the quest, the son of Zeus had seriously neglected training or any sort of working out. Even though the boy was strong, he still had plenty of skills to hone, one of which was chucking knifes and straw dummies apparently. Choosing to ignore the daughter of Athena who was also in the arena with him, he began to set up a few dummies behind barriers and paint bullseyes on their weakest points according to human anatomy. After taking a few deep breaths and letting the cooling air steel down his nerves, he began to draw his knifes from their pouches on his belt. Usually he'd keep them hidden in random pouches in his armor or clothes, but he didn't see a need to do that if he was only practicing. After drawing the first three, he chucked all three at the same time and the only dummy not blocked by some makeshift barrier. "Swing and a miss." He sighed once the knifes made contact, only on hitting the intended target.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Marietta noticed the son of Zeus enter the arena and then blatantly ignore her to go off and practice by himself. She found this a bit rude and gave him the benefit of the doubt. Maybe he hadn't noticed her yet? Waiting for a few moments as he walked past to grab dummies and place them away from her, setting them up for his own training, she waited and waited for him to give at least some sort of notice that she was here. After hearing his knives clang around, only one hitting their mark, she sighed in frustration. Turning quickly, she shot an arrow over to his dummy. It pierced the eye of the straw creature, just missing Sergio's head purposefully. Calling over to him with her hand on her hip while the other held the bow to her side she spoke her him. "Well hello to you too, your highness." She greeted sarcastically. "Weren't you taught manners?" She continued with a bit of venom laced in her delicately high voiced. She walked forward towards the boy, not caring if he tried to strike at her in anger, she knew that he wouldn't anyway. While he may be a bit mean, he wasn't that mean. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sergio took a deep sigh, making sure to keep his now bubbling anger in check. "Look, mam," He said with a tense sting in his voice "nothing against you, I just really didn't feel like talking. I gotta get back to training again." He told the girl as calmly and evenly as he could. He seriously didn't want to get to angry about some dizzy blonde testing his patience. After taking another moment to breathe, he began to only throw one knife at a time into some of the hidden dummies. Most of them hit the heart or eye sockets, a few hit the abdomen or arm, and one totally missed and lodged into one of the makeshift barriers. He honestly had just started knife throwing a few months ago, after realizing that he had a huge weakness when it came to anything long or mid range. Sure he could blast a person with lightning, but he was still gaining control of that power. He could barely channel it into a straight line or a few knifes, let alone have the accuracy to blast someone from too far away without hurting others in the process.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Marietta held up her hands in mock defense as Sergio struggled to keep his temper in check. Just like his father. She watched him attempt to train on a fuzzy mind and have uneven accuracy and precision with each knife he threw. "You know, you'd do better if you calmed down a bit. I can feel the tension roll off you." She spoke again. Taking it upon herself to pick up a knife, she flicked her wrist and jolted her arm forward. While it was no where near her skills with a bow, she did at least hit the mark in the yellow range. "Also, don't say it's nothing against me when you clearly have a problem with me." She smirked, flashing her icy blue eyes in his direction. Sure she wasn't the nicest of people, but who's to say he was? On their first meeting he completely brushed her off when she asked for his help. If anything, she should hold the grudge on him. Taking up another knife, she fixed what she felt kept her from hitting the bull's eye and flung out another blade, this time hitting much closer than it did the last. Thank her mother for these fast learning skills. A smile spread on her face when she saw her mark. Maybe she should take this weapon up. It was like she was the bow, and the knives were arrows. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sergio heaved another sigh and placed his hand on the back of his neck. After rolling it until he heard a nice crack and felt a wave of release roll on him, he decided to apologize to the girl which had actually gotten quite easy for the son of Zeus lately. " Look, I'm sorry. I know I've been a total a** to ya and I'm sorry. I'm just trying to focus on figuring out this whole knife thing. Let's just say my quest coulda gone a bit better." He gulped down the last of his probably terrible apology before finishing. "So yea, sorry." He said with a sheepish smile as he walked into the range to pick up the knifes. Once the short retreval was over, he went back to throwing the knifes, hitting at least the yellow with every throw now that he was calmed down. " I'm so much better with just a sword and shield then this crap ya know?" He told her with a small smile, trying to make some decent conversation.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Marietta raised an eyebrow at how quickly the boy's venom had died down. It seemed quite fishy, but the daughter of Athena didn't quite rest on it. She listened to his apologies with an openness in her mind. His quest hadn't gone too well evidently so it must have weighed heavily on him. He began to grow uncomfortable and switched topics to weaponry. Going along with his word flow, she nodded her head in agreement with his statement. "It's like me with my bow. I often think the weapons we choose reflect our personality." She explained. "You feeling comfortable with a sword and shield shows that while you can attack, you also need a defense, a shell. That when when strikes come at you, you just throw up you shield, allowing it to take the scratches for you." She smirked. "I shoot off my arrows with no armor to protect me if there is a fire back. I have to dodge and weave my way around, or take the blow full on." She continued, motioning to the bow in her left hand. Choosing to try and dive deeper into his seeded anger, she asked a slightly poking and prodding type of question. "So why the need for your metaphorical shield if you are so happy with jabbing your metaphorical sword out at other people?" She asked with a crooked smile and a raise of her perfectly groomed brows. Her eyes were sharp and piercing, gazing at the boy in front of her. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

He raised his eyebrow at the girls strange observation. It was kinda outta left field and he had never thought of his weapon choice in that way. " Honestly, I just like fighting up close. The shield is just percation honestly. It's not really that deep of an emotional thing, I just like what I like." The boy said with a confused half smile and a crooked eyebrow. He decided that he didn't want to puss off the girl anymore so he continued to chuck knifes into the concealed dummies. Now that he was calmed down he was hitting the red marks of the bullseyes with relative ease. This made a gap in conversation which led to quite the awkward silence. After that lingered for a few moment he asked, " So how do ya like it here?"

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Closing her eyes for a second or two with a small smile on her lips, she shook her head. He dodged her question and also took her theory a bit wrong. She just let it go, not seeing the point to try and explain herself again. Silence fell between the two as Sergio regained his urge to practice, doing much better now that he had settled his anger down a tad. She could sense the awkwardness building and she knew that he felt it to, because he soon broke that silence with a very over used question. She let herself have a quick second or two of laughter before answering his question honestly. "It's alright. It's basically the same as my old life, adding the knowledge of my true mother and mythology of course. Also the training, but other than those minor changes, not much different." Her voice was slightly sarcastic and she had a small, genuine smile on her face. "What about you? I know you have attended this camp a while so I assume it isn't a fair question." She asked as she redirected her attention to her bow and quiver of arrows. Sliding one out, she loaded it smoothly and then released it to land it's destination in the stomach. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sergio nodded his head knowingly to the girls answer, it was honestly quite standard for a newer camper. The son of Zeus was not a new camper though, he was almost at the two year mark, which was quite the feat for a child of the big three. All of the elder god kids usually die out quicker, the constant threats to every demigods life tend to go for the stronger children of gods. He honestly didn't know why, he was just going off of what he was taught. When the girl asked about his academy experience, he had no idea how to put it. He couldn't just flat out say that it was amazing until his siblings died, then it sucked for a year but now it's getting better. He could easily talk about it with Beau or Stacie, but e didn't know Marietta like that. So he decided to make a small joke out of it. " I guess it's kinda been like a bad batman story, only not as sullen." He told her with a small grin and began to pluck the knifes out of his multiple bulls eyes by manipulating wind to retrive them.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Marietta smirked a bit as Sergio gave her a watered down version of his time at camp. She expected that fully. They were in no way friends and are very minimally on civil terms, for reasons she is still unaware since he completely grazed over her call out to him on it. She watched as he used his powers to retrieve his knives from the target. Marietta at first felt jealous when she first discovered her powers. She had no elemental or creative powers. After a while though, she began to love the fact that her smart mind had grown even sharper. She loved that fact she could communicate with owls as well. She had always found them to be gorgeous creatures. Feeling herself slip away into her thoughts, she quickly pulled herself back into the real world and turned to face the boy next to her with a raised eyebrow. "I'm not sure I follow?" She lied with ease. She wanted to see if he would spill at least a little bit more. "How is your life like the famed superhero? I don't see you in a cape or in a mask." She deduced with fake innocence. Although he most likely would assume it to be real. If not, then she had underestimated the boy's perception skills. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sergio sighed as he lined up the knifes in front of him after his wind retrieved them. Easing out a short sigh, if only to calm his nerves, the boy replied to the girl in the most nonchalant way he could, not giving an inch to tone or anger. "Look, I'm not stupid. Don't play dumb with me Athena kid, I know your just prying for information. I mean seriously, Do you think a big three kid makes it to eighteen being an idiot?" His anger began to flare slightly as he continued on, even though he tried to keep it contained. "I mean really, I don't know why you'd try to play dumb with me. I mean if you were an Ares kid then maybe i'd believe ya. But really, ya don't survive long by underestimating people here." With the last syllable Sergio threw a now electrified knife, from his recent flare of anger, into the head of the furthest dummy. The dummy chared slightly because of the contact of electricity and unprotected straw. After watching the knife sink into the dummy, the boy shook his head and blink a few times before his nerves steeled back to normal. "Anyway what were we talking about?" The boy said, trying to ignore his near blow up at the innocent, but sarcastic, girl.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The daughter of Athena was not phased in the least, or she just didn't show it. To be honest, she just wanted to be on good terms with the kid. It's just that compared to his other girlfriend's sarcasm and jokes, her's were a bit more condescending and slightly offensive even if she didn't truly mean them to be. She watched Sergio's anger escalate but kept a straight and unmoving face and he let out his little fit. The knife he finished with began to char and burn the dummy it had lodged itself into and Marietta let out a little chuckle after the boy finished and attempted to steer away from what he just blurted out. "You kinda took what we were talking about and shot it through the roof." She explained with an amused smirk playing on her lips. "Or actually shot it through the dummy, to be more exact." she quickly changed her mind and pointed over to the damaged target casually. Taking a sigh of her own she combed through her hair before gazing at the boy with slightly softer eyes. "Alright, you know what, I'm sorry. I know I'm a b***h and I'm arrogant about my ancestry and take every opportunity to use it and show it off and I know that totally rude." She now switched to being completely honest and it was even giving her whiplash so she could only imagine the thoughts the Zeus kid could be having about her. "I'm not the greatest at making friends and when I see that I can push a button or two on someone I take the chance just so I can get a rise or some attention." She confessed. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sergio sighed a bit and slumped over, knowing the right thing to do would be to apologize. "Gosh I should really be used to sarcasm nowadays with all the time i've been spending with Stacie." He muttered under his breath with a slight chuckle. "Uh look Marietta, I totally get the whole flaunting your parentage thing. I mean i'm a Zeus kid, I totally flaunt my powers any chance I get." He ruffled the back of his hair out of habit before continuing." I'm sorry I've been an a** to ya too, and sorry about the whole not giving you the time of day thing when ya needed help. It was a pretty jerky thing to say. So yea, sorry." The boy said with a sheepish smile before extending his hand out to the blonde daughter of Athena. "Look how about we let bygones be bygones. Friends?" Sergio asked the girl with a raised eyebrow and his signature half smile.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Marietta showed a bit of shock at the walls that proceeded to crumble as she opened up to the Zeus child. He had accepted her apology with grace and offered up his own, honest, ones as well. She could feel her icy eyes melt a bit under his gaze and she had a feeling she had finally done something was was okay for her standards. She didn't just brush him off or give him a sarcastic comment about whether or not his statements had truth in them. Smirking a bit, she followed his motions and extended her own slim and dainty hand to meet his and encircled her fingers to grasp it firmly. "I think that's a pretty good idea." She chuckled a bit, letting her eyes drop to the dirt for a moment as her bangs shielded her face until she swung her head back up and knocked her hair back into place. "I think I'm a bit worn out here, to be honest. Also a bit hungry. Would you maybe want to join me while I go grab a quick lunch at the dining hall?" She offered with a slight awkwardness. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
