Being the Whovian that I am, I've been working on crocheting a door cover for my bedroom door based off of the front of the TARDIS from Doctor Who. It's been a slow progress so I'm really pushing myself to get it done. I'm trying to get it done or at least the crocheted part by the 31st and I still have a long way to go. I'll also do some embroidery and add some felt to it to really try and make it look like the TARDIS

That's a brilliant idea! Did you see the official one? Basically just a stick-on sheet, I think, but it was, like, $60 on ThinkGeek. Still kinda hovered over the "add to cart" button for a bit, but... couldn't justify it. Not without a wallet that's bigger on the inside, at least! rofl
Anyway... What kind of yarn are you using for yours, then? You will be posting pics here... no, I didn't forget the question mark there. xd

No I hadn't seen the official. I'm hoping the one I'm making will help keep some warmth in my room during the rest of the winter. Not to mention my room is bigger than what people might think upon first glance of my bedroom door. XD
I'm using Red Heart Super Saver royal blue for the blue. The black part was Red Heart Super Saver black. The royal blue was the closest to the TARDIS blue I could find that was also a reasonable price. Sure I probably could've ordered hand dipped yarn but I prefer to get my yarn right away and not pay $6 or up for it.
And yes I will post pics XD

Oh wow! You're creative. I wouldn't have thought about a door cover. That gives me an idea for seasonal covers attached to the entryway glass door. I could make it open in the middle to see out and/or look like a seasons greetings card. I'd have to experiment with attaching the cover though. Hmmm...

Amen. Besides, if I had to guess I'd say for your purposes, you're better off with acryllic than wool, anyway -- you won't have to worry it'll get stained or warped or moth-eaten, and the color ought to hold up over time a lot better, too.
rofl "Windsor Blue" always looks like it's Tardis blue to me... but the navy comes in those BIG skeins, doesn't it? whee

I've seen things like shoe racks and even fold-up ironing boards that they sell to hang on the back of bedroom doors -- there's a couple flat... hooks, I guess, that hang on the top of it, since there's usually a little room between the door and the the jamb up there. You gotta be a bit gentle when you open and close the door, is all. Yarn ought to be easier to rig up, would be my guess... ah, big project, but I'd make it to wrap around the entire door vertically, probably. Wrapping under the door would make it a draft blocker, too, come to think of it. Could even put, like pockets and things on the back side (talk about an epic amount of patience, though!)... Hmmm, indeed...

To attach it to the door, I was thinking of doing a couple of chain 'ropes' and having them snap to the top and bottom of the cover. Much easier than trying to find something that won't ruin the door and guaranteed to stay in place.

Hmm... I think I can visualize what you're talking about. It sounds good to me. I wasn't looking forward to trying to find an attachment that won't stay attached. lol. It would make your Doctor Who cover easier to put on and take off as well.
