Personality:Zero is very agressive and has issues with following orders. He lives by his own "code" and has been kicked out of the army by going AWOL on an important mission. He was locked up in a mental institution for a while, resulting in extreme paranoia.
History: At the age of five, Jason was found in a ditch surrounded by fire, which was crawling all over the boy. Thinking that the dead boy deserved to be buried, his finder, Justin "Blade" Rone, braved the fire to collect him, yet amazingly, the boy was alive! Then and there, Blade faced a choice: turn the mutant in, because nobody else could have survived, or keep him as the son he never had. He chose to raise Jason.
A single father raising a mutant couldn't have been easy, but somehow, the human did it. And paid bitterly for it. Jason's ability had yet to emerge, so passing him off as human was easy. The boy grew, and at the age of eighteen, and after long talks with his "father", he went off to war. It was there that things went wrong, as two months into service, he went AWOL and was presumed dead.
What had actually happened was that the fighting, the life-or-death situation that is war, awakened the boy's power. He found himself healing even before wounds hurt, like, here, then gone. He also found out that he was a metamorph, able to change into whoever, or whatever, he touched. This ability freaked him out so much that he ran away, convinced he was going crazy. Indeed, when they found him, he was locked up for three years, and his paranoia grew.
His foster father eventually found out that his son was still alive, and made an effort to visit and see him, but Zero was too far gone by that point, using his abilities to capture his father and impersonate him, enabling him to walk out and escape. He's been on his own ever since.
