What is this? I've never heard of it before.
Homestuck Shipping World Cup is a summer event where teams of 5-13 people band together to create awesome fanworks for a chosen ship in Homestuck. Your ship can be almost anything!
This year there are two Main rounds and one collaboration round where your team pulls together to put out works fitting a prompt that it is given. (Last year's Main Round prompts were "Propaganda" "Genre Mash-Up" and "Taboo" with "Mythology" as the collaboration round)
There are also a ton of bonus round (There were 7 last year) where you're given a very general prompt (IE "Create a Soundtrack", "Historical AU", "Quote inspired") and can both create ideas (A "Prompt" where you provide a ship and something that meets the criteria of the round IE My very first prompt for the Quote bonus round last year was "Equius<3Tavros, "Love me. Fear me. Do as I say, and I will be your slave." ~ David Bowie as Jareth, The Labyrinth") or create works to fit someone else's (Not a Team Mate) idea (Called a "Fill". You use the provided material and write or draw something inspired by it.)

You can also join Team Noir, a team that only does bonus rounds and has no specific ship, and vote in the competition! Or there are Theme Teams this year (Team Robots, Team Pale-Pitch, Team Moraillegiance, Team Ancestors, Team Guardians) and Team Abstrata, which only does unrepresented rare-pairs!
