Aria is one of the Meister branches that an Exorcist can take on utilizing the power of “Fatal Verses”. A Fatal Verse is a section or part of a holy scripture to which every type of Demon has one assigned specifically to. By chanting these “Fatal Verses” an Aria can exorcise the Demon. Although not every Demon’s fatal verse is known, so instead of exorcising the Demon completely an Aria will be able to use the power the verses carry in order to cause physical harm or protection from the Demon.
Because you are allowed make up the effects your verses cause to your selected verses, we had to change the original manga / anime use to Fatal Verses in order to make them easier to use in an RP setting. Ultimately the power of a Fatal Verse is only as strong as the one casting it. As you notice when reading through each verse will have their own strengths and weaknesses as well as types of Demons they are effective against. Fatal Verses work very similar to how the Demons hierarchy is maintained by elements of the Demon Kings.

The Demonolgy Classification under the Fatal Verses represents the types of Demons the verse is meant for. As you saw in the Chart, Fire is strong against Decay and Decay is Strong against Wind. So if your Demon Classification is meant for Astaroth and those Kin of him, the fatal verse will more than likely be fire based, that means if you use it against Iblis or someone kin of him it will be very little effect or no effect at all depending on your Stats, but this very same spell will have some effects, little but still some effect against those of Anyanka kin. Due note: that verses that are structured to battle Satan and the Kin of Satan will work on all demons. But due to their structure, these verse tend to be viewed as forbidden because of the drawbacks they place on their caster.
Now that part is out of the way, let’s talk about where the number of lines comes into place. We all know that when casting Fatal Verses an Aria is virtually defenseless because they have to focus on not only the target but also the verse themselves. But that’s not to say that the verses won’t have any effect on Demons before completion. Demons tend to react to fatal verses differently depending on the magnitude of the verse.
