Our story begins during a time of peace between the human race and werewolves. Humans and werewolves have always been enemies; constantly fighting over land and overall power for centuries. That is, until the new king of the humans and the new king of the werewolves grew tired of losing their people to the meaningless war. And so, they made a pact for both races to live in peace and harmony....

So what was the pact that would bring peace and harmony to the land? Both kings would have their eldest sons marry each other. Unbeknownst to the kings, the princes had met once before.

Three years before the kings made their pact, the princes had both met without knowing who the other person was. After a steamy relationship ended in a rather unforgiving manner, the boys went their separate ways. Now the boys are eighteen years old, their identities have been revealed to one another, and they are supposed to marry one another?!

What is to become of the two now that they discovered who each other really is while they are wed to be married?

"Father? What is this all about? Why am I dressed in a suit and tie?" Eighteen year old Mason Astor asked his father in the back seat of their limo. His father smiled at him and ruffled his son's hair. "I have an important announcement for you... I withheld for telling you until now because I knew you would refuse at once," he said. Mason looked at his father suspiciously. "What is it? Tell me now father," he demanded, growing nervous. His father sighed and looked at his son square in the eyes. "You are to marry the son of King Moretti, the king of the werewolves."

Mason's eyes widened at what he just heard. "W-w-w-what?!" He asked in surprise. His father sighed. "I know it sounds outrageous, but listen to me Mason. This is the only way to have our races closer than ever. Who knows when the next war might be upon us... It's not that I don't trust the werewolves, this is just a... Well, it's just a back up plan. It's for the sake of the human race, Mason, please accept it," his father begged. Mason had never seen his father this desperate before.

"B-but we are both guys... A-and it's not legal to marry the same gendered person in our country..." Mason explained, trying to find a way out of this. "Oh, that? I already made it legal a few days ago," his father said. Mason's eyes widened. It was hopeless now, wasn't it?

The boy sighed and leaned his back up against his seat. He had been defeated. "I'll.. I'll do it... Not for the sake of the human race.. But for Logan... Because I am guessing if I refuse, Logan would be up next..." He said. His father smiled and ruffled his hair once again. "Thank you Mason... I owe you one..." He said. Mason rolled his eyes. "A big one..." He muttered under his breath.

They arrived at the meeting place about an hour later. They got out of the car and walked inside with their multiple bodyguards following behind them. Mason always felt uncomfortable with people watching his every move, but he got used to it after all these eighteen years of his life.

The men walked into the mansion and went straight into the living room. One of the bodyguards came up to them and said that the werewolves had not arrived yet. Mason frowned and sat down on a couch, making himself comfortable. The werewolves were always known for being fashionably late.

Mason's father sat net to him and patted his head. "Now Mason, be polite and behave, will you? This is really important... The sake of the human race is on your shoulders..." He announced to him. Mason sighed and nodded. "Yes.. I understand..." He said in a soft tone.

"Now once they get here, we are going to discuss when the wedding will be held and where you two will have your honeymoon," his father said. Mason's eyes widened and he looked at his father in disbelief. "H-h-honeymoon?!" He asked, not believing his ears. His father looked at him in confusion. "Why yes.. There always has to be a honeymoon after a wedding..." He said. Mason groaned putting his face in his hands. His father was taking things way to seriously...

"Sir, the werewolves have arrived," one of the men announced. Mason gulped then stood up like his father. Calm down Mason... I am pretty sure the guy I am supposed to "marry" wont make a big deal out of this either... He thought to himself, waiting in nervousness as he waited for the werewolves to come into the room.

"In my dearest memories, I see you reaching out to me. Now you're gone, I still believe that you can call out my name."

Today was the day. The sun was shining brightly, the birds were cheerfully chirping away outside the castle walls, and one rather non-cheerful werewolf was sleeping soundly in his bed. His bed was specially made to fit his stature as well as status of being the only son to King Moretti of the werewolves. It was lined with the finest sheets that the staff had made themselves as well as fluffed to perfection; although he was a canine by nature, it was debatable as to whether or not he was closer to a big cat! The prince, Donovan Moretti, was cold and very distant with everyone he encountered; the complete opposite of his younger, brighter sister who came skipping into his room with a s**t eating grin.

Claudia Moretti was only two years younger than her brother, but she was spoiled beyond belief. If there was something that she wanted she simply had to bat her eyes and her father would give in. Donovan was not so forthcoming with spoiling his only sister. Claudia jumped onto the bed, her yellow and green two-piece dress flowing around her, while her brown curls bounced around her smiling face as she poked her brother's sleeping form that was hidden beneath the sea of blankets. "Dear brother, you know what day it is, do you not?" A hint of amusement danced in her tone as she started jumping on Donovan's bed. The prince groaned from underneath the sheets as he growled in response,
"I do not remember ordering a wake up call for my own birthday, Claudia, and if you continue to pester me then I shall have you thrown out." That response only sent Claudia into a fit of laughter as she threw Donovan's covers off of him to reveal her brother's nude and sculpted body that was, luckily for her, turned onto its stomach. She let out a yelp of surprise before putting the covers back up to his waist as she scolded, "Why do you not sleep clothed like a normal person?!" Donovan turned his face toward her and opened one of his pale blue eyes to glare at her, while his raven, long locks fell around his face. "Because, my dear sister, it is my room and I can dress how I please in it. Now what is it that you want?"

His sister crossed her arms while sticking her tongue out at her older brother. She then shook her head at her brother's ignorance before stating, "Why is it that everyone in the kingdom knows, but you do not, that you are to be meeting your betrothed today?" Donovan's eyes flew open as he sat up, his covers still serving as a censor, as another growl left his throat. "My WHAT?!" Within seconds, Donovan was on his feet and throwing on his robe before storming out of his room to find his father, who happened to be waiting for him in the hallway. The king greeted his son with a warm smile, but Donovan was not in the mood. "What is all this nonsense about me getting married?" "It is not nonsense, son, King Astor and I had come to an agreement that will save our race from continuously fighting meaningless battles with no end. Our sons are to be married."

"Married?! Father, I have just turned eighteen years old and you are asking, no, telling me to marry… Not only are you forcing me to marry, but I am to marry another man?"
"Come, come, Donovan, you act as if I have sentenced you to death. This is for the fate of our people. You have sworn to protect and serve the people of our country, have you not? This protection will come from the unity of our families. Besides, the humans are not that bad." Even the king had a hard time saying something like that out loud; the humans and werewolves had been fighting for centuries and he was just supposed to give up that instilled hatred because his only son was to marry the enemy?
"Father, this is not fair!"
"You think that your sister would have been a better choice? If she were to get married, at her age and before her eldest brother, why she would be the laughing stock!"
"What about m-"
The king held up his hand to silence his son. "That is enough! You are to marry Prince Astor and that is final! Now, go put on something presentable!"

Donovan let out a groan of frustration before turning on his heels and stomping back off into his room. Once he was inside, one of his servants joined him to dress him in a suit and tie. However, Donovan was quick to lose the tie, leaving the first few buttons undone to give himself more comfort; to hell with formalities if he was not allowed to marry someone he wanted to marry. After he was fully dressed, much to his dismay, the royal trio of wolves got into their limo and were off to the meeting place. The whole ride there Donovan was quiet, while his sister would make inquiries towards the appearance of her brother's soon to be…husband? Wife? Even they were not sure what to call prince Astor, but Donovan glared out the window and flatly stated that if anyone were to call him the 'little woman' that he would rip their heads from their spine.

Their limo pulled up to the mansion, the Moretti's were helped inside, and their arrival was announced. The first one into the room was King Moretti, who greeted the King Astor with a slight bow of his head, while Claudia trailed in behind her father. "King Astor, I trust that your drive was pleasant. I apologize for our untimely arrival, my son decided to sleep in. I do not believe you have met my daughter yet, Claudia Moretti." She stepped forward with a curtsey, eyeing prince Astor with a delighted smirk on her face. Seeing the petite prince, who was barely taller than she, made her realize that her brother would devour the poor boy. In a sweet voice she added, "It is a pleasure to meet you all. I do hope that you will take good care of my brother, Prince Astor." The amusement in her eyes never left as she stared at the human prince. After the princess' introduction, King Moretti looked behind them to introduce his son. "Ah yes, Donovan, come out an meet your betrothed." Donovan muttered a curse under his breath as he walked into the doorway to stand next to his father. He placed his hand over his heart to bow politely before looking up to see King and Prince Astor. His eyes idly passed over the King before landing on his future bride, and that was when he froze.

Donovan stared at Prince Astor, his heart skipping a beat as he recognized the pale face that held those sapphire blue hues that often made their way into his nightmares. The wolf said nothing, the corners of his mouth dropping into a frown, as his mind raced through his memories of the boy before him; he did not just remember the boy's face, but his body as well. Oh yes, such fond memories they were! Three years ago, he had met this boy and they dated briefly, while indulging themselves in one another. Ah, but Donovan had been unfaithful and was tossed aside for his indiscretion. He would have never guessed that his thirteen year old, summer fling, was the prince of the human race. A smirk came to his lips as he stood back up to his full height and answered as if he had never met the prince before.
"It is nice to meet you, King Astor, Prince Astor, I look forward to our union." Donovan then stepped forward to take ahold of the prince's hand, raised it toward his lips, and kissed the back of his hand lightly. He looked up at the prince with a hungry gaze as he whispered for only the prince to hear, "I look forward to you being my wife, Mason." Claudia stared at her brother in shock before looking up at her father who was just as shocked by his son's sudden change in behavior. King Moretti cleared his throat and Donovan turned to retreat to the empty couch.

"If I should leave this lonely world behind, your voice will still remember our melody. Now I know we'll carry on. Melodies of life, come circle round and grow deep in our hearts; as long as we remember."

When the werewolves entered the room, King Astor smiled, bowing in as a greeting. "Oh yes, indeed so. My son and myself quite enjoyed it," the kind said, shaking off the apology as the other king apologized. "No need to apologize my friend. We did not wait long," he smiled when he introduced his daughter Claudia. He bowed in response. "Ah yes, I have heard of you my lady. It brings me great joy to finally have met you," the king glanced over at Mason, who also bowed when she came forward.

When the girl mentioned her brother, Mason was hesitant, but nodded. "Yes... Of course miss..." He said, standing back up. He blinked when he noticed the amusement in her eyes. What's wrong...? Did I act weird to her...? Oh well... He thought, then turned his attention back on the werewolves.

That was when he felt like his heart nearly stopped at the mention of that familiar name. No... It couldn't be him... I must have heard wrong... Nope. The boy had heard correctly. At the sight of the man who he loved three years ago, Mason's heart felt like it stopped. He stood there, frozen in place. King Astor noticed this and looked at him questioningly. "What is the matter?" It took a moment for Mason to come back, but he shook his head. "No... It's... It's nothing..." He replied, not taking his eyes of Donovan.

He had changed... Well, of course he had. It had been three years after all. The man seemed taller, stronger, more well-built than before. But.. It was still the same Donovan. The same man who he fell in love with. Who he dated with. Who cheated on him. Who broke his heart..

"It is a pleasure to finally meet you too, prince Moretti," King Astor greeted him, glancing over at his son. Mason snapped out of it and nodded, bowing also. "Yes... A pleasure..." His voice sounded off, and King Astor noticed it. He wondered what was wrong with his son... And he hoped it subsided quickly...

Mason held his breath when Donovan had taken his hand and kissed it. He felt chills go down his spine when the other had whispered low, so that he would be the only one that could hear. The boy was paralyzed, not knowing what to say. Thankfully, Kind Moretti had cleared his throat which caused Donovan to sit on the couch. "So! Shall we begin?" King Astor asked, clasping his hands together.

Once they were all seated, it was now down to business. "I was thinking to hold the wedding this Sunday. The sooner the better. As for honeymoon ideas... We were thinking of one of our secluded islands for.. Maybe a week? That way, the two could have some privacy and get to know each other. Of course, there will be servants there to clean up after them and tidy the house," King Astor suggested. Mason didn't really pay attention, he was too shocked at what he had discovered today.

Donovan was the prince of the werewolves. And he and Mason were to be wed. The heart break from three years ago played over and over again in his head. And I thought I was over it already... Pull yourself together Mason...! He ordered himself mentally. The boy glanced up to look at Donovan, then looked away from him. How am I going to act around him now...? I... I'm becoming a mess again... He took a deep breath then paid his attention back to the group.

"In my dearest memories, I see you reaching out to me. Now you're gone, I still believe that you can call out my name."

Donovan made himself comfortable on the couch, crossing one of his legs and resting his chin in his hands. His sister promptly sat next to her brother, jabbing him in the side for his behavior earlier, to which he simply shot her a glare. King Moretti then joined his children on the couch as they listened to the plans for the wedding. The King agreed that Sunday would be a splendid idea. A week's worth of alone time for the couple would also suffice. Donovan glanced from the kings to look at Mason once more. A wedding was right around the corner and then they were expected to fly off to some secluded island for their honeymoon? Was he supposed to seem thrilled about this idea? Sure, marrying Mason was not such a bad idea, but he knew that after everything the two had been through that the other prince would not have any desire to consummate their marriage, and how could Donovan blame him for that? After all, the wolf had been the one to cause their break-up, but nobody besides Mason and himself knew that.

Three years ago, Donovan had been having the time of his teenage life. At fifteen years old he was single, had no commitments to anyone, and was allowed to have his way with whomever he wanted. The only problem was when he had agreed to date Mason; since he had just been on a pleasure frenzy of protected sex with strangers he had not really thought about how that would affect him. However, he and Mason decided to date and as it was Donovan had heard about an interesting legend amongst his fellow werewolves. The legend stated that if a wolf was to have unprotected sex with someone then that person was who the wolf would consider to be their mate for life. Donovan, being the stubborn and reckless guy that he was, thought it would be fun to test out that theory since he did not believe it was possible. Mason and Donovan shared their night of passion, and shortly after that Donovan tried to then be with another person. In his young stupidity he did not realize how his actions would have hurt Mason. They broke up and he never saw Mason again.

It would be months before he really understood what the legend meant and what it would feel like to him. Mason was gone, but Donovan could still see the man's blue eyes piercing his being every time he closed his eyes. The desire to be physical with anyone dwindled to nothing, and his body began to ache for only one person; the one person he could never have. Donovan had made Mason his mate for life, but that did not mean that the man had to like him back. Because of Donovan's reckless and stupid behavior he was destined to be alone forever! This realization made his him very cold and rather bitter as he approached his eighteenth year. Who would have thought that he had a second chance, and not just a second chance but that his mate was going to have to marry him!

Donovan watched as Mason looked over at him and then promptly looked away. The corners of his mouth dropped into a frown. Call him childish, but how unfair it was that he could not tear his eyes away from Mason for more than a few seconds but the other could look away from him so easily! He may have broken Mason's heart three years ago, but this small prince would be his undoing. King Moretti then offered a suggestion to the after honeymoon plans, 'After they return, they are more than welcome to stay with us until their own home is built. I know that our people will take good care of both of them. They could stay in Donovan's room." The wolf prince looked up to his father with a raised brow before chiming in himself,
"Then why wait to have to wedding on Sunday? Why can we not be married now?" Claudia's eyes widened as she snapped her attention toward her brother who was staring at Mason. She pinched Donovan's side and he ignored her while their father shook his head. King Moretti cleared his throat before answering, 'Because, son, you must give both parties time to prepare for such a sacred gathering. Do not be so eager, you may scare off your future husband."

The wolf prince scoffed lightly with a smirk as he thought about how if they only knew how much he and Mason had already done. He then addressed Mason,
"How about it? Would you like to get the wedding over and done with?"

"If I should leave this lonely world behind, your voice will still remember our melody. Now I know we'll carry on. Melodies of life, come circle round and grow deep in our hearts; as long as we remember."

Mason could still remember that day like it was yesterday... The boy had just finished after another princely lesson and rushed to the room Donovan always rented out for them. Oh he is going to be so surprised....! The innocent boy thought and he ran to their special meeting place. He had opened the door, seeing there was a light in the backroom. Mason smiled and went towards the back room. "Donovan! Guess what! I finished my-" he opened the door, his eyes widened at the sight that he saw. There was Donovan with another, in the bed.

The boy just stood there, frozen in place. The person told Mason to leave since they were obviously busy. The boy stuttered an apology and left the room. The next day, Mason went to the room to see Donovan waiting for him. mason frowned at him, his eyes red from crying all night. "We're through... You jerk... I'll hate you for the rest of my life..." He had said before running off in tears.

Mason snapped out of it when the king spoke of him sharing a room with the man as they waited for their home to be built. His eyes widened when Donovan spoke of getting married right that instant. "Now? But there is still so much to be done before than..." King Astor said, growing a bit worried. There wasn't enough of a notice to get everything together.

Mason looked up at Donovan when he asked him of his opinion. The boy, in a princely voice, spoke. "I think you are rushing things a bit, don't you think? We should wait until Sunday, just like our fathers originally planned," he said. King Astor breathed a sigh of relief, happy that his son did not want to rush things like Donovan did.

"I believe we are done here, correct?" Mason said before standing up. "Thank you very much for your time. I am looking forward to become part of your family. Now, if you'll excuse me," he bowed as he said this then left the room. "Ah... Wait Mason!" King Astor called, but it was too late. His son had left the room and went outside.

There was no way Mason was staying in that room another minute. It brought up to many unpleasant memories... The boy sighed then closed his eyes. You can get through this Mason... You'll be okay... Everything will be fine.. You can do this... He encouraged himself, opening his eyes and looking up at the slightly cloudy sky.

"In my dearest memories, I see you reaching out to me. Now you're gone, I still believe that you can call out my name."

King Astor, his own father, his sister, and even Mason did not want the wedding to happen as soon as Donovan did. Both King Astor and Mason voiced their disapproval of having the wedding sooner than Sunday, and the wolf prince grumbled to himself. Why should he have to wait to marry the one person he is forever fated to want to be with? The idea of not being able to be with Mason was easier to cope with when he thought he would never see the boy again. But now Mason was literally right in front of him, and Donovan could not stand being so far apart from him! The wolf clenched a fist at his side while he watched Mason get up from the group to disappear outside. Donovan then looked to his father and added, "Since my opinion is not wanted, I will take my leave for now." The prince got up from the couch, his father glaring at him the whole time, as he followed after Mason.

The wolf watched from the doorway as Mason went outside and stopped to get some fresh air. His eyes wandered along Mason's form before smirking. He could not help but find it amusing, in a sad ironic way, that all he wanted to do was be close to Mason but all Mason wanted to do was run away. Of course, Donovan only had himself to blame for that, but that did not change how he felt now. Donovan cleared his throat as he called over to Mason,
"You never told me you were the prince of the humans." It was a very sad attempt at conversation but even if Mason were to turn around and yell at him for not being honest with him either, then they would still be talking, right?

As Mason looked up at the sky, he saw the clouds were making many different shapes. He always used to watch them and name them when he was little. It was usually something he did when he was sad or upset.

There's an ice cream cone... A milkshake... A bow tie... Cat... Fish... Crown... Bear... Rabbit... The boy frowned at the next one. Dog... A sighed escaped his lips. He would have to deal with this now... They were to be wed after all...

Mason nearly jumped at the voice behind him. He looked over his shoulder to see none other than Donovan. He frowned then looked back up at the sky, shoving his hands in his pockets. "Yeah? Like you're one to talk," he said calmly. Though on the inside, he was freaking out.

Calm down Mason... You'll just have to bear with it... For the rest of your life... The boy thought, only saddening from it.

"In my dearest memories, I see you reaching out to me. Now you're gone, I still believe that you can call out my name."

Mason was obviously still angry with him. If the short response was not a dead give away then the fact that the other prince was avoiding eye contact would work. Donovan sighed lightly as he joined Mason's side and looked up to see what must have been more interesting than him. All his pale blue eyes could see was clouds, nothing fancy, just puffy, full clouds that were slowly being carried across the sky by the wind. A gust of wind blew past them, carrying Mason's scent along with it, which filled Donovan's nose as he closed his eyes to inhale deeply. Mason had such a unique scent, almost sweet and mouth watering, but Donovan would not dare tell his bride-to-be that; there was no telling how far he would end up pushing away the man he was supposed to marry if they did not find a way to patch things up. The wolf prince sighed heavily as his slender fingers ran through his long black hair. "Mason, I know that forgiveness is out of the question at this point, but if it is any consolation in the slightest I have regretted my actions the moment you left and not a day has gone by that I have not thought of you."

What he told Mason was not a lie. It may have been somewhat stretched since the reason he initially regretted the action was because his mate-for-life was someone he would never see again. However, after some time he did come to realize just how wrong it was for him to have slept around on Mason. Donovan looked down to Mason and reached over to carefully remove a piece of debris from the smaller male's hair. "I will do my best to earn your trust once again if you would allow it.[/b

Mason couldn't help but have that scene play over and over in his mind from three years ago. Donovan... In bed with another... At that point in time, it had broken his heart... He was so young and naive... He would have never thought of the possibility of Donovan cheating on him... Never had it occurred to him of that happening... Mason hated himself for it. No matter how many times people had warned him of the other, Mason just wouldn't listen. He was blinded by love... And he vowed never to love again...

The blue-eyed boy frowned when Donovan spoke of his regrets from that day. Of course, he did not believe him. "Right... Of course it did... I am sure you have done that many times, correct?" He said in a matter-of-fact tone. "I have heard those kids of stories of you all the time. Don't play me as a fool," he told him, not believing him in the slightest.

Mason took a step away from the younger black-haired man when he touched his hair. He didn't even look at him. "Don't touch me," he said, anger in his voice. Never again did he want this man to touch him... Not even a brush of the shoulders. It would just bring him unpleasant memories. His frown grew wider when he spoke again. "Your efforts will be useless. I will never trust you again... Second chances don't apply to these situations," he told him coldly.

"Mason! What do you think you are-" King Astor came out, ready to give his son a lecture, when he saw Donovan with him. "Oh... Sorry... Am I disturbing something?" He asked, being polite. Mason shook his head. "Not at all. I was just leaving," he said before getting into the limo. Of course, is father didn't believe him. He said goodbye to the young prince then followed after his son. After he got in, they headed back to their home.

"In my dearest memories, I see you reaching out to me. Now you're gone, I still believe that you can call out my name."

Donovan stood perfectly still as he listened to Mason. The other prince began to show how little he believed Donovan by bringing up how he had heard stories of Donovan's past flings. His gaze began to glaze over into a cold stare as Mason pulled away from him and told him that his efforts for repentance would be in vain. Shortly after that, Mason's father came outside to see what was going on and Mason brushed it off by stating that he was just leaving. As the wolf prince watched Mason and King Astor driving away he could feel a low growl developing in the back of his throat.

Claudia walked outside to join her brother's side and leaned against him with her arms crossed underneath her chest. She clicked her tongue in disappointment before saying, 'Smooth move, Donovan. Whatever you did seems to have put off the human prince.' Donovan's growl left his lips as he angrily barked at his sister,
"What of it, Claudia!? Mind your own business and stay out of mine!" His eyes began to glow a bright blue color as his anger pushed him closer and closer to his limit. Claudia let out a small yelp as she backed away from her brother. Donovan eyed his father walking up behind his sister and the prince turned his attention away from his family. "Leave me be. I wish to return home. There is nothing more to accomplish here."

The Moretti family climbed into their limo and drove back in silence. As soon as they returned to their home, Donovan retreated to his room and locked the door behind him. He did not want to think about the wedding or Mason. The prince's anger was still rising and would not seethe for anything. Well, there was a way to calm his anger, but that meant that he had to transform. Donovan moved to his balcony and took a deep breath before beginning to pant as he gripped the stone ledge tightly. He bared his teeth, that quickly elongated into fangs, while his hands, arms, and face began to grow thick, black fur. His bones shifted beneath his skin with sickening cracking sounds as they reset themselves. Within seconds, Donovan no longer appeared to be a human and instead was a very large, black wolf with pale blue eyes that shined brightly. Donovan hopped onto the ledge and jumped down onto the ground to run off into the forest. He did not care for a destination, but he did not want to be trapped in his room with thoughts of Prince Astor's frown running through his mind.

OutOfChinatown: [ I wasn't sure what to do next! I didn't know if you would like something to happen to Mason's limo on the way home like being attacked by bandits or something? (Sounds really old school lol) and maybe Donovan could find them on the road am attack the attackers or something?]

Mason and his father arrived back at their castle only a few minutes later. The boy immediately went inside, his father following after him. "Mason... Do you know the prince?" He asked him, worried about his son's sudden change in behavior. The boy frowned. "No. Not at all," he said, going up to his room. "Tomorrow you are going to get a fitting for your suit! You better be ready to leave at ten a.m. sharp!" King Astor call up to his son. The boy ignored him and walked down the long hallway, only to run into his siblings.

"Hello Mason," they greeted him in sync. They did that a lot. It was kind of creepy. "Hey," Mason greeted them back. "How was the meeting?" They asked. "Fine," Mason answered them. "You don't seem fine," "Would you shut up?" Mason barked at them suddenly. The twins just looked at him blankly. Mason sighed then brought them into a hug. "Sorry... I didn't mean to snap at you..." He apologized, feeling guilty. The twins patted him on the back. "Don't worry," Logan began. "We forgive you," Lauren finished. Mason light smiled and squeezed the two. "Thanks..." He said before pulling away from the hug. "I'm... Going to go out for some fresh air. Cover for me, okay?" The siblings did this all the time. They weren't a loud to leave the castle without one of the guards, so they ask each other to cover for them.

The twins nodded. "Of course," they said. Mason smiled and ruffled the twin's hair. "Thanks you two," he said before sneaking out of the castle. He walked out of the back way of the woods and headed towards town. He walked through the town. The boy wasn't paying attention to where he was going, and it didn't matter. All he wanted to do was clear his mind of everything that happened today...

Suddenly, he heard footsteps behind him. His eyes widened. Oh crap... I forgot this was the bad part of town.... He thought, looking behind him. Sure enough, there was three guys behind him. The boy looked back in front of him, speeding up his pace. The three men behind him did the same.

Crap crap crap crap...! Mason thought before going into a full on sprint. He was headed into the nearby forest. And of course, no one would hear him there if he screamed and called out for help. A bad move on his part.

I have to loose them... Can't my legs run any faster...?! The boy thought desperately as he continued to sprint. Of course, it was so cliche of him to trip over a tree root and fall onto the ground. s**t...!! The boy turned behind him to see the three men slow their pace, their mouths turning into grins. The boy squeezed his eyes shut. Dammit...! He thought. He felt so weak... So powerless as the men men stood above him. "Now be a good little boy and have some fun with us..." One of the men said in a hungry tone. Fear grew inside of Mason's body. "Someone....! Help...!"

"In my dearest memories, I see you reaching out to me. Now you're gone, I still believe that you can call out my name."

Donovan ran; he ran and ran until he found himself deep into the forest. Mason's voice had been echoing in his mind, reminding him that he would never be forgiven. The cold glare filled with pure hatred that he received from the other prince burned behind his eyes as the wolf prince finally came to a stop underneath a large tree. Panting heavily, the wolf sat down to let the sounds of the forest clear his mind. However, it would seem that relaxation would not come for him. There was the rustling and crunching of leaves on the forest floor that alerted Donovan of not only one person's movements nearby, but also three others following closely behind the leader. Donovan listened more closely to pick up the sounds of a branch snapping that was followed by the sound of a body hitting the ground. Had a tree branch fallen on someone? Did someone trip over something?

He briefly thought about how clumsy that person must be, when he heard an unfriendly voice commanding someone to have 'fun' with them. Donovan's curiosity finally got the better of him as he got up from his spot to peak from behind the bush to see three men standing over a smaller male on the ground. The prince quickly put two and two together to figure out that this was not a friendly meeting at all between these four men! The wolf gave a low growl from inside the bushes as a warning to the three bigger men. When the men did not show signs of leaving, that was when Donovan leapt out from the bush onto the man that been closest to the person who fell on the ground. He growled, snarled, and raised his paw to scratch the man across the face. Within seconds, the two other men were trying to push Donovan off of their friend. Donovan rolled off of him, and immediately started to snap at the three once again. He bit at their ankles, scratched them when he could, and finally put himself in between the person that they were about to attack and them. The attackers knew the wolf would not stop until they backed off, and so they picked up their wounded friend to quickly make their escape.

The wolf snorted and turned his gaze around to see who it was that the men were trying to attack. His pale eyes widened when he saw that the boy on the ground was none other than his bride-to-be. Donovan could barely believe it! What in the world was Mason doing way out here in the forest by himself? The wolf simply stood in front of Mason, staring at him, as he tried to calm his breathing. He had come out to the woods to try and forget about the other prince, and here they were alone together; except the problem now was that he was a wolf and did not look like himself. He sat back on his paws as he looked Mason over, wondering if the men had hurt him at all. A soft whimper left the wolf's throat and Donovan mentally cursed himself for worrying aloud about the boy who wanted nothing to do with him. That is right. Mason could care less whether I were to live another day. Why should I worry about him? Donovan turned his attention back toward the bushes that he came from and got up to walk back into the bushes. At least as a wolf, Mason will not know that I saved him. I highly doubt that he will come after me in this form.
