A private 1x1 Roleplay between Donie and Shiva
PostPosted: Sun Dec 15, 2013 9:59 pm

A small child was walking through the forest, having been separated from her Mother during the kingdom's dragon hunt. It had been a tradition that the royal family had to uphold in order to show their power to the people of the kingdom, that not even dragons could best them. On this day, there had been a rumor of one being around the area. But the child, Lialda, didn't want any part of it. She didn't like the thought of another creature being hunted when they hadn't done anything wrong to the kingdom. Even though she was young, she understood the reason why her kingdom was doing this, and she wished that there was another way. She knew that dragons were very strong beings and if anything, humans should be allies with the dragons. The results would be, not only a peaceful one, but one of harmony. A world where there was no bloodshed was one that her innocent blue eyes longed to see. She may be only a child, but she was still the Princess of the Kingdom and was being trained to take the place of her Mother someday so she had to learn to grow up fast.

Her Mother had brought her along to the hunt, but because of her feelings, Lialda had taken off into the forest. Not wanting to witness the life being taken from an innocent creature. Her small feet continued to carry her, her mind not having any location in mind. She had continued to run even after the voices of her Mother and the guards had faded from her ears. The brush was thick, causing multiple cuts along her legs and arms from all of the sharp branches marring her skin and tearing at her clothing. No matter how far she had gone, her feet didn’t stop moving. She was the little Princess of the kingdom, but she didn't want to be the Princess. She felt that even though she was running from the hunt, part of her wanted to continue running from her own fate. She didn't like the clothes or the wealth. She didn't like others choosing her life for her, everything was always planned for her and having fun was never part of it. She wanted to be normal.

Taking a step, her foot slid along the slippery surface of a rock and tumbled down a hill to the ground. The action leaving dirt smudges along her cheeks. She had given a small cry when she had landed, her knees and hands scraped from the impact. As she was trying to push herself up, she heard a crashing sound off in the distance. She wondered if a tree had fallen or something. Being ever quizzical about the world around her, she wanted to see what had caused the sound in the distance. Since she was fairly young, she wasn't afraid of anything that she could come across. The thought did cross her mind that the crash could have been caused by a fallen dragon that her guards were out hunting. She didn't like the idea of that happening, so it made her want to find what had caused the crash even more. She wasn’t going to let them kill a dragon, so she got back up to her feet and began rushing towards the sound, with her short golden locks flowing behind her.

It was dark beneath the surface of the of the water where a predator lays in wait. The water shifted around him as large fish slowly swam by his neck and closer to his mouth. He had his jaws open with his tongue floating in the water like a worm. His father had taught him how to do this on his first hunt. He had been told that at a certain time of the year, it was not safe over hunt land animals. For there was a creature out there that would turn him into the prey if he did. This was his first year hunting alone and now was the time of year when that creature was on the hunt. The humans.

His father had told him many stories about the humans. How hundreds of years ago they had been friends with the humans. Back then, small groups of dragons would pledge themselves to protect the many kingdoms. With dragons guarding the lands, few were foolish enough to to attack one of the kingdoms. Due to this, the lands knew a great time of peace. But it would not last forever.

A king fell to lust for power and began a war with one of the smaller kingdoms. This king did not want to wait for years of war to gain victory. So the king requested the aid of the dragons that protected his kingdom. The dragons tried to reason with the king but,he was lost to his need for power. The dragon denied his request. Angered by their answer, the king demanded them to aid him in the war and claimed that it was their duty to the kingdom to do so. Angered by his attack on their honor the dragons told the king to leave their dwellings or they would withdraw their protection of the kingdom.

The king stormed back to his castle in anger. Once their he weaved a story of lies to his men and ordered the first dragon hunt. Under the cover of night, the king and one-hundred of his best men marched to the caves where the dragons lived and slaughtered all but one dragon. Mortally wounded, the dragon traveled to the breeding grounds and home of all dragons. Before he died, he told the other dragons the king's betrayal. Angered by his action the dragons rallied in great numbers and flew to his kingdom. Their rage was great but, their mercy kept them from harming the innocent. They scorched the earth where the king's soldiers stood and ripped through the walls of his castle until they found him holding on to his family. The dragon that was to give the killing blow looked down on the king's family. She knew he had to die but, refused to kill him before his family's eyes. So, she took the king and flew away from the kingdom, calling the rest of her kin to follow her.

She landed on a mountain cliff as the rest of the dragons followed. There she looked down on the king with her piercing eyes. There she told the king of his sins against the very dragons that were his friends and protector and that the price of his sin would be the destruction of his kingdom. Mad with sorrow the king begged for mercy upon his people. The dragons took pity on the man and agreed that they would end the bloodshed with him. With great relief, the king accepted his punishment as the dragon slew him and tossed his body over the side of the mountain.

The dragons withdrew their forces from all the kingdoms across the land to avoid another kingdom from doing the same. But seeds of revenge had been planted in the children of the king and each year, when dragons were forced out of the breeding grounds for food, that kingdom would set out to hunt dragons. As years passed and rulers died, the reason for the hunt was forgotten and became a thing of sport.

The young dragon knew this story well and was well aware of the threat above the suface of the water. He drew his attention to the fish that was edging closer to his mouth. In a flurry of bubbles his jaws snapped shut around the body of the fish. With his kill in his mouth the young dragon slowly surfaced. There was no sign of humans. Tilting his head back he swallowed the large fish in a single gulp. He slowly made his way out of the water and shook the droplets from his body and wings. His deep blue scales glistened in the sunlight like sapphires as he stretched out his wings and pushed his body into the air.

He was still young and was only twice the size of a horse. Still, he was larger than any other animal in the air and had to get high in order to conceal his size from the eyes of man. The young dragon swung his head around as the wind blew past him and a strong new scent filled his nostrils. It was the same scent that his father had warned him of, the scent of man. Worried that he might be seen the dragon pushed himself through the air, away from the smell. But it was too late as arrows began to wiz by. Most bounced off his scales and only bruised him. Others nicked his wings and made him wince in pain. He pushed harder to get further away and he was soon out of the range of most arrows but, one got a lucky shot off and hit him between his wing bones. The pain almost made him pass out in the air. He growled at the pain and put everything he could into getting away.

It was not long before he could no longer take the pain and fell from the sky and into the forest below. A blow from one of the trees knocked one of his wings out of socket as his body slammed into another one, knocking it down with a crash. Knowing that if he did not hide fast the hunters would find him the dragon forced himself to get up. With his wing limp at his side, each step racked his body with pain. He was lucky enough to find a cave and slunk inside. There he knew he would either die or survive. Either way, he would incinerate any that dared to enter the cave.

((Well that was longer then I thought it would be. lol))

She made her way through the brush and once she made it to a clearing, she noticed that there was a cave nearby. There was such a devastation of the trees around her like something fairly large had crashed into them. Her eyes saddened, it meant that the guards had come across a dragon and shot him. Her tiny little hands fisted in the cloth of her torn white dress, she hated the fact that they would do this without a real reason. As she took small steps into the clearing in front of the cave, she noticed the drops of blood on the forest floor. There was no body though, which meant that the dragon could not be too far from here.

Slowly and with caution, she approached the entrance of the cave. She could hear the slight pants of a creature inside. She poked her head inside and took a few more steps. She paused in her step and her bright blue eyes widened as she spotted the creature in front of her. It was the dragon that the guards were looking to hunt down. From the looks of it, this dragon seemed to be hurt badly. She was surprised to see that the dragon before her was rather small compared to the other massive beasts that she had seen before. Maybe he was just a child, like she was. Just the thought of them hurting a young dragon made everything all the crueler to her. She could even tell by the look in his eyes that he was terrified and she didn’t want to make things worse.

She knew that she looked like a complete mess before him, especially with all of her long blonde hair tangled behind her. Her dress was no longer the white that it had been, now covered in mud. Her hair had twigs and leaves in it and her dress was in tatters. In other words, she didn’t look like the Princess of the kingdom; she looked like any other peasant girl. It didn't stop her though from moving quickly towards him.

Lialda was in awe of how big he was in comparison to her and the fact that she had never seen a dragon before. Those eyes of hers were full of concern, especially when she looked at his damaged wing. She saw the multiple wounds on his body and she couldn't believe that the guards would hurt such a creature. His scales were a bright blue, the same color as her eyes.
She approached him unafraid, wanting him to be unafraid of her as well. She wouldn’t hurt him, if anything, she wanted to help heal him. It was a gift she had possessed since she was born and right now, she wanted to use it to help save this dragon and help him get away from her Father and the guards. She knew that she would probably be punished for it, but if it meant that she had been able to save the life of a dragon, it would be worth it.

She moved close to the face of the dragon and she reached out with her hands and placed them on both sides of his face. Her hands were small and delicate as she touched him and she could see anger in his eyes so she shook her head, "I won't hurt you..." Her voice was light, wanting to sound gentle to him to let him know that she wasn’t going to do anything to hurt him. She had never been so close to a dragon before, but she made sure that as she touched him that she looked him directly in the eyes.

The dragon looked down on his wounds. There was no way for him to get away in this condition and the humans could easily wait him out. Anger boiled inside of him as he thought about the humans. His focus shifted as a new scent fell upon him. It was human but, it was not the same as the hunters. It was softer and pleasant to him. It did not reek of sweat and blood-lust. 'This could be a trick to make me let down my guard. I will not let myself fall prey to their tricks.' He thought to himself as the heat from his chest moved up his neck and smoke issued from his nostrils.

He could here the foot step as it drew closer and Darek prepared himself to attack as it moved into his vision. Darek stopped as he beheld a young child with torn and messy clothes. His eyes fell upon her face and he saw a great sadness in them. 'Why is she sad and why is she even here.' He thought as she drew closer to him. He knew this could be another trick by the humans but, he could do nothing to get away as she was now only a foot away from. The laws of his people forbade bringing harm to the innocent. He growled, trying to frighten her away but, she drew even closer. Her hand reached out to touch him but, he stood still, not knowing what to do.

Her hand fell onto his face as he closed his eyes, not sure if he was about to die. But nothing happened and he opened his glowing blue eyes and met her's. He now realized that she was not there to hurt him as she spoke to him. It was the first time he had heard the voice of human. Her touch seemed to wash away his fear of her. 'She must not be with the hunters.' Darek paused as he realized that if the hunters found her with him, they could hurt her to get to him. The words of his mother came to him. 'A dragon must protect the innocent from harm. They have never wronged our kind and still hold our vow of protection. One day you may be faced with a choice to help a human and if that day comes, I hope you will show that human that the dragons have not forsaken them.'

Darek knew that if he did nothing she would surely be harmed or worse. Using what little strength he had left he move past her to the entrance of the cave. He looked up and let a burst of flame fly from his mouth. It hit the entrance and the stone cranked and fell, blocking the entrance. The hunters would not be able to get in and be forced to find another dragon to hunt. Looked back at the girl and collapsed. He could no longer move his body and the pain made it all worse. The girl probably had no idea why he did this and would likely be frightened by the fact that she was now trapped here. He knew he had keep her calm but, he had never connected with a human mind before. He was not sure if it worked the same way as it did with his own kind. None the less, he push a strand of thought out to the girl. He made contact. He could not make scenes of her thoughts as he looked at her with one of his large blue eyes. "You are safe for now..." It was all he could say before he passed out from exhaustion and pain.

Lialda had approached him, while keeping her eyes focused on him. She had noticed the smoke coming from his nostrils as she approached, had he been about to use his fire? Now that she thought about it, he was probably expecting the hunters to come find him so he was only protecting himself. It explained his growl that he had given her as she had approached him, no doubt trying to scare her away, but she wasn't going to leave him alone like this. As she had placed her hand on his face, she watched as he closed his eyes, but when he opened them again, she saw the glowing of his own blue eyes that reflected themselves through her own.

When he began to move again, she wanted to help him get back down so he could rest his injuries. As he moved to the entrance of the cave, he had opened up his mouth and let out a burst of flame that caused the stone of the cave to crack and block the entrance. As the shaking had occurred, her hands went up to cover her head as she curled herself into a ball. She was afraid of the whole cave coming in around her. It only took a few moments, but after it stopped, she looked up to see the dragon collapse. Gasping, she forgot about her own fears and she rushed over to his side. Her hands were placed on his face again as she looked into his open eyes again, she was more worried about him than her own predicament. When he looked at her, a moment later, she heard something, a voice that seemed to be coming from inside of her head. Was it the dragon's voice? He said that she was safe for now, had he blocked the cave's entrance to protect her?

She was surprised that he had done something like that right before he passed out. She knew that she was going to help him before, but now, she knew that she had to help him. She patted his nose lightly before she got up. She flinched a little bit at how dark it was in the cave with no light around her. She was scared of the dark, but she knew that even though she was scared, she needed to help the dragon before her. Not removing her hands from him, she used his body to help her along to find the areas where he was hurt. Once she spotted the main sources of pain he was experiencing, she closed her eyes to focus on her magic.

A golden light began to form from her fingertips and seep into his scaly skin in pulsing waves. She knew that she wouldn't be able to fully heal him since he was much larger than she was used to healing, but she did know that she could at least help him recover to the point that he would be able to fly again. She was grateful for the light that her own magic produced. The glow allowed her to see the full damage that the hunters had done to the dragon. It made her want to cry that they had hurt someone as nice as this dragon. She watched as the wounds on his wings were closing up. She gave a soft smile at the sight, but she could already feel her own energy draining from using her magic so much. She was panting lightly as she was finishing healing up his injuries. Dizziness swept over her as she let her light fade away. She moved over to the dragon's face, she patted him softly on the nose again before she tucked herself next to his body and passed out from using too much of her own magic to heal him.

Darek drifted into hazy dreams of the past. Moments from his childhood that seemed to comfort him. But dragons did not dream like other creature. Their minds were capable of remaining slightly aware of the world around them as they sleep. Darek could feel something happening and took his attention from the dream to see what it was. He could feel magic being used. 'It must be the girl. How can she have such a gift?' Darek asked himself before he realized that the magic was being used on him. He slowly felt the pain in his wings lessen until it was no more then a dull soreness.

'She is healing me!' He thought as he felt the magic slip away. He then felt her pat his nose and curl up next to him. He could feel that the energy from her body was exhausted. 'Healing me must have taken a lot out of her. He reached out to her with his mind again and could tell that she was now dreaming and even in her dreams her could feel her concern for him' Darek smiled to himself as he reached further into her mind and manifested in her dream. "All is well dear child. I will keep you safe." He said inside her dream before he retracted his mind from her's.

Though it seemed like an instant, much time had passed when Darek pulled himself from sleep The cave was now dark but, Darek's eyes illuminated the cave with a pale blue light. The girl still lay fast asleep. Darek tried to move and winced in pain as he realized that his wing was still dislocated. The girl probably could not reset a joint with her magic and Darek was going to have to do it himself. He stood up, careful not to wake the girl as he moved. He found a log nearby that he could use to bite down on when the joint popped back into place. He took the log into his mouth and placed his wing arm against the wall and prepared himself for the pain. With great force he pushed against the wall and a loud pop came from his shoulder. The wood in his mouth began to creak and crack as he bit down on it with all his strength.

The pain soon subsided and he let the log fall from his mouth in pieces. He looked back at the girl and saw her shiver from the cold of the cave. He move the pieces of the log closer to her and lit them with a spark from his nose. The cave flickered with the light of the fire as Darek move to lay by the child and placed his wing over her like a blanket. As the night passed he kept a constant vigil over the girl.

Lialda was drifting off to sleep from using too much of her magic. She still wished that she had been able to do more for him, she knew that he must still be in pain. She knew that he would live, but at the same time, she wanted to be awake to make sure that he would be okay. It didn't take long though, before she heard the same voice from earlier appear in her dreams. He was telling her that all was well and that he would keep her safe. Her face brightened knowing that he would be okay and hearing his voice made the smile grow on her face even in the waking world where she was still asleep.

Her mind then proceeded to drift off into a more peaceful dream state. She found herself in the middle of a large clear field of flowers, with the bright sun shining over her. The sky was blue with barely any clouds hanging in it, the only thing in the sky were the colorful birds that were flying along it. To be outside in the fresh air and around such life made her happy. The cold stone walls of the castle, while they protected her, never made her feel like she was at home. Even though she barely knew the dragon that she had helped, with him saying those simple words that he would protect her, she felt truly safe and let her guard completely down around him. She had felt him shift a little, but otherwise she had remained asleep. All that she knew was that she was a little cold, but in the next moment she felt warm.

She wondered if the dragon was helping to keep her warm. She even felt a small weight on top of her little body, meaning that he had put something like a blanket over her body. It was only a little while later after the fire had been lit that she had began to stir. She gave soft little sounds that indicated that she was waking up. Her hand moved up to rub her eyes to get the sleepiness out of it. At first when she woke up, she thought that she was back at the castle, but when she saw the fire in front of her, she remembered everything from before. Her hand lifted up and felt around where she was and she noticed that what was covering her was a wing. Turning her head, she looked up and saw the dragon awake and watching over her.

Smiling brightly that he was looking so much better, she pushed herself up and went over to his face placing her hands on him once again. "You're okay, thank goodness!" It was still dark, but the glow from the fire as well as the glow from his eyes chased away the darkness. She was so happy to see that he was okay. She began looking over him to make sure that his wounds had closed, "Are you still in pain? I can make it go away now that I slept!" She knew that she would pass out again if she did it, but she didn't care. Just knowing that she had been able to make him feel better even a little bit gave her the encouragement to do more for him.

Darek tilted his head as he looked at the girl. It seemed so strange that this girl had no fear of him as she should. He could only think to blame it on her age. She treated him as if he were one of her own and worried for him like a loved one. Darek felt warm around his face as he looked into the girl's eyes. He shook his head as she offered to heal him more. He reached into her mind again. "There is no need to worry further about my health. I am healed enough to make the flight home and what pain I do still have I will bear. You have already done enough for me and I will forever be in your debt. Upon my honor as a dragon, I will one day repay you for your kindness. The time of the hunt will soon be over for the day and as soon as it is safe I will guide you close to your home and return to my people."

Darek looked at the collapsed entrance of the cave and push his mind beyond the cave. He could not feel any other humans near by. "But before we depart, might I ask what you were doing out here? The dragon hunt should not be witnessed by one of your age. I though others of your kind felt the same way about it." He was slightly angry that any human would let a child near the hunt of a dragon. It was not the same as hunting an animal for food where the hunter would end the animals pain quickly. It was a hunt of sport and show of power. The men would take turns fighting the injured dragon and beat it with metal clubs until dead. His father had once shown him a memory of a hunt that he had escaped many years ago. However his father's brother sacrificed himself so that his father could live. A tear rolled down from his eye as he relived the memory of his father.

Lialda couldn’t help but feel happy knowing that the dragon she had helped was going to survive. It meant that her Father would not get the chance to kill this dragon. For that she was glad. For her, the less lives were lost, it made for a happier kingdom. She felt him reach into her mind again as he told her that there was no need of her to worry about his health since he was healed enough to fly and any pain he did have he would bear it. He went on to say that he would repay her someday for her kindness and that once the hunt was over he would help guide her back to her home. When he said that, her expression grew uneasy. ”Y-You don’t have to repay me, I was happy to help you. Dragons once protected humans, so I wanted to help protect you. Though…you seemed to protect me anyway…”

When he spoke to her again and he asked her what she was doing out there, she saddened again. He even felt that someone like her should not witness such things. She hesitated on what she should tell him, but when he seemed to go into a daze, she noticed the tear that fell from his eye. Reaching down to her white dress, she tore a strip off of it and she approached his face and she wiped away his tear gently, ”Are you okay, Sir Dragon? Even though you said you could bear it, I can heal it for you. I wouldn’t want you to continue to suffer like that.” She reached up her hand with the cloth so that she could dry his face of the tear that he had shed, being very careful not to hurt him in any way. At the same time, she was avoiding his question as to why she was there. ”And you do not have to worry about me, I can make it back by myself. You are the one in danger, so please, let me protect you, kay?” She finished her question with a soft giggle as she said it. She liked helping the dragon, and he was so nice to her. She didn’t want to ruin this by telling him who she really was, he would be mad and probably hate her and she didn’t want that. She wanted to be his friend.

Darek could tell that the girl was avoiding his question and was surprised by how she knew how to do that at such a young age. He suspected that despite her messy appearance she could be the daughter of some one important. Darek knew that it would only upset her if he tried to pry further. She had seen his tear and thought it was due to his own pain. "Do not worry, I am not in pain. I was just seeing a living memory." Darek paused for a moment as he realized that the girl likely did not know what a living memory is.

"A living memory is a memory that has been passed down from one dragon to another. The memory that is passed is far more real then most other memories as it passes on the the emotions of the dragon at the time of the memory. When you go back into the memory you can feel everything they felt, hear it, smell it, and even taste it. I was just thinking about a hunt that my father had witnessed." Darek paused for a long time, not wanting to say more about the memory. He simply changed the conversation back to his debt.

"I cannot walk away from my debt. It would be the greatest dishonor to do so. It was because of one man's kindness that the dragons began their protection of the humans. You see we dragons take our debts very seriously. Though we sometimes take years to repay our debt because our debt take much time and thinking to plan out." He said as he tilted his head and drew his lip back in an intimation of a smile. He was not sure if it looked like a smile to a human as it could be frightening or comical to see a dragon smile.

He then lifted his head so that his eyes were even with hers. "What kinds of things would you like to have in your future? It does not have to be an object. It could be a preferred situation, increase in family status, wealth and many other things. Do not be exact on what you want, I must be inspired by your needs and wants to repay you properly. So, close your eyes and tell me, what do you see in your future." He said with a slow blink of his blue eyes.

Lialda was relieved when he told her that he was not in any pain, but it was rather him thinking about a living memory. It was true that she didn't know what a living memory was, but as he explained it to her, while it was a little confusing to her, she listened intently until she grasped what it meant. "So you were reliving a memory that happened to your Father..." When she realized that it was a sad memory for him, she gently rubbed at his face. What she wanted to do was give him a hug to help comfort the dragon, but she was far too small for that. His Father had witnessed a hunt and her expression saddened at the thought of it. It had no doubt been started by her Father and for it to bring tears to a dragon made her angry that they were causing such pain to creatures that were just like them.

As he changed the topic to the one of his debt, he explained to her on how important it was to a dragon to keep their debt to someone. He told her that it could even take years because of the amount of thought they put into it. She thought that it was really sweet of them to do that, and when she saw the smile on his face, she couldn't help but smile back. Even though it should have scared her, she knew that he was trying to smile, it was just different from her own. She liked his smile and she wanted to make sure that he kept smiling.

When he lifted his head so he was even with her eyes, he asked her the kind of things that she wanted to have in her future. She blinked innocently and even tilted her head to the side as she thought about it. He explained to her that it didn't have to be an object, that it could be anything. He even offered some examples, like wealth or family status, she already had that and she didn't want it, so she shook her head when he offered it. She knew that other people would probably ask for it, more money, more land so they could live like the royalty as well. She knew that people needed some wealth to survive, but why want more than what you need? They want larger castles, but she knew that when the castle got bigger, the lonlier it got. A lot of empty rooms and everyone rushing to gain more that they forget what they already have.

The dragon told her to not be exact on what she wanted, since he wanted to be inspired by her needs. When he asked her to close her eyes, she did and began to think about what she wanted to see in her future. She thought about it and spoke out loud what she saw, "I see the sunlight shining over the land. The only shadows to be seen are caused by the clouds and the dragons flying in the sky. I see dragons and humans being close friends and smiling and laughing," She opened her eyes and gave a bit of an embarrassed laugh and rubbed the back of her head, "It has always been my dream to see everyone happy and restoring the peace we had with the dragons. Father says it is a foolish dream, that dragon's are beasts and enemies to humans," She shook her head, her golden locks following her head's movements, "I don't believe that! I know dragons and humans can become friends. You're my very first friend, Sir Dragon, and if anything, I want us to be friends forever."

Darek looked at the girl for the longest moment. It seemed as if time had stopped and the only two living things left in the world were the two of them. Her wish was not one of greed, lust, or power. Her wish was not for herself but, for two peoples that had grown so far apart that they now killed each other without reason. It was a pure and honest request that would be impossible by conventional means but, Darek would not let that stop him from making her wish come true. 'Is it possible that the wish of a single child can change the course of the future?' Darek asked himself and the answer that came to him inspired him him to do something that had never been done in the history of creation.

"I have decided upon your request. But before I make this pact with you I think we should leave this cave." Darek stood and folded his wings as he turned to the entrance. "Stand back." He said as he opened his wings, blocking off the the cave behind him, and let loose a jet of flame from his mouth. The flame hit the ruble with great force as the rocks shifted. The flame from his mouth soon flickered to a deep blue as the stone turned cherry red and began to melt away. The entrance was now completely exposed as he shut his jaws. His wings had absorbed the heat from his flames and prevented them from harming the girl behind him.

He folded his wings and turned to the girl. "The stone is too hot for you to leave on foot. Climb upon my back and I will carry you outside." He said as he knelt down low enough for her to make it up. Once she was on, he stood and walked over the hots stone. The heat did not bother him as he moved forward and he shielded the girl from it with his wings. Once far enough away from the cave he knelt back down to allow her to slide off his back and onto the ground.

Lialda was waiting as he was looking her over as she had made her request to him. She knew that something like that would be near impossible because their sides were too far separated from each other to even try to form a friendship. He didn't say anything at first though, not even dismissing her ideal thoughts for how foolish they were. Instead, he just spoke to her saying that he had decided upon her request. Her eyes widened in surprise, "Y-You mean it's possible?!" Was this all that was needed in order to bring peace to their nations once again? He told her that he would make a pact with her, but only after they had left the cave.

When he told her to stand back, she nodded and took a few steps back having an idea on what he was going to do. She watched as he opened his wings and he released flames from his mouth at the stone that was blocking them in. She brought her hands up in front of her face to help block the intense heat that she was feeling from him. It never hit her though as his wings were blocking anything from reaching her and hurting her. When he finished and folded his wings behind him, she watched that he had melted away the rock that had blocked them inside. She saw the sunlight stream into the cave and she smiled seeing the sunlight.

He turned to her and told her that the ground would be too hot her for to walk out on so he was offering her his back to ride him out of the cave. Smiling brightly, she nodded and made her way over to him and she climbed up on his back holding onto him as well as she could. As he began walking, he was still shielding her with his wings which she continued to smile at him protecting her. Once they were outside again, he knelt down so she could slide off. She was cautious and ended up slipping a bit and falling back on her bottom. When she hit, she giggled and laughed, "That was fun!" She then got herself up to her feet again and she looked up at him once again, "So, what is the pact that you want to make Sir Dragon?" She tilted her head to the side with those large blue eyes looking up at him.

Darek looked down to the child knowing that he was about to make a pact that would change to course of history. "Your wish is both complex and simple in nature and the purity of your request revealed to me a way to make it real. We will forge a bond the likes of which the world may never see again. This bonds power will reshape the world. With it we will show the land how the world should be and open the minds of your people. But it will take time for me to make preparations for this. I will leave and return home to make myself ready. I may not return for a long time. So, for you to remember me by..." Darek paused as he stood on his hind legs and reached around his back with his claws.
As he returned to his normal position he held in his claws a single blue scale. He cupped the scale with his other hand and blew on it. The scale changed into a gemstone connected a thin silver strand. "I give you this piece of my soul to keep with you. It will keep you from harm and, when the time has come, It will lead me to your side. When I return I will ask for your hand in marriage. This will be my gift to you and with it I will spend the rest of my life working to make you dream real. Will you accept this stone as a symbol of my promises to return and and marry you?" He said as he held out the stone for her.
