Everything is so damn green it hurts. And it's so nice to look at again.
Everything in here is green. Green furniture, green curtain, green walls, green carpets, even the fireplace flickers that lovely emerald shade every once in a while. Even the piano, that's constantly hammering out upbeat music that makes you want to dance and keeps the mood jovial, is green.
...well, MOST of the time it plays upbeat music. Once some kids summoned a demon and it started playing a funeral dirge.
There's one huge difference between Janus Dorms and the rest of the buildings: the common room has a huge flatscreen TV installed above the fireplace. Thanks to a certain Ekat boy with an affinity for magitech, it's finally connected with the electrical system. (Unfortunately, he could not lift the odd charm that makes it occasionally transform into a whiteboard with an anatomically-correct p***s drawn on it with permanent marker.)
The fireplace is surrounded with plush couches, perfect for curling up with a cup of cocoa after a long day. Watch where you step, since there's an unusually large amount of pillows scattered on the couches and the floors. The plated green table in the corner has several chairs shoved haphazardly around it and is stacked tall with board games. The large bookshelf next to the staircase has quite a range of items, from ancient tomes to plastic tops to sticker-filled books to bobbleheads of famous sport stars. A brass oil lamp sits on the very top of the shelf, but it's empty.
A kitchenette off to the right is equipped with the bare minimum of necessities. The pantry and fridge are stocked with a mix of caffeinated drinks, snack foods, energy drinks, tea, and a bunch of Indian spices that are neatly organized on the middle shelf. Nobody in Janus can really cook, so most of the food in the pantry is instant ramen, easy mac, that sort of stuff. Something anyone can make but half the house somehow manages to set on fire anyway.
Upstairs, the hall splits in two. A bat hangs on the wall for emergency purposes. There's a dorm room on the left and a dorm room on the right. Before the fire made the top floor unlivable, the girl's dorms were on the left and the boy's on the right. Now that the school has had a chance to rebuild, however, they've changed the signs on the doors. The signs now read Left and Right respectively. The dorms are identical in terms of bedding; bunk beds line the walls, with soft pillows, comfortable mattresses, and green sheets. Both sides also have an identical floor board that can be pulled up to reveal a surprisingly large hiding place for items such as books, pillows, candy, or even a body if you fold it up right.
The only difference between the two dorms is the Right side is home to a very badly sewn dimensional rip. Sometimes it's open and sometimes it's not. Students are advised to stay away from it when it's open as being sucked into the rip can have messy consequences and it can be difficult to get students out again if they aren't savvy with dimensional rips.
Welcome to the Janus Commons and Dorms!

Shanta jiggled the doorknob a few times and pushed it open. The green interior of the Janus Commons welcomed her. Sighing happily, she pulled her suitcase over the threshold and worked it up the stairs. It was heavy, but that wasn't a problem. Shanta quickly staked out a top bunk for herself (it was easier to get on her carpet in the mornings that way) and left her suitcase there. She flew downstairs for her ample jewelry case, which was bulky but not heavy. Returning upstairs was easy, and she carefully placed it in the corner of the dresser closest to her bunk. Satisfied, Shanta flew up until she was just over her bunk and let her carpet gently deposit her onto the bed. Mmm, Janus had the best pillows.

[Timeskips will occur whenever a thread has grown stale or gone too long without anything new adding to current events. Any posts after that is pretty much a new event/day. Easy concept. I'm only posting this note because this is the first time this is happening.]

Quinn L. Rosetta||Second Year||Janus ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇xx★xx▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇
Quinn entered the common's very quietly. She was reading a book and seemed to be unfazed by the four other books she had balanced on her head. She was careful to shut the door with her foot before she walked over to one of the seat's. However instead of sitting in the seat she took the books off of her head and set them in a neat pile on the chair. Her eyes not once leaving the book she was so into. She took off her bag and placed it on the chair as well. she slipped off her shoes and was neat enough to put them to the side, out of anyone's way. She sat herself on the floor and wiggled her toes in an obscure way. She was double jointed so she could move her toes freely, another weird talent she possessed. " Interesting. " She said suddenly. Her soft spoken voice faded into the silence of the commons. She wasn't talking to anyone but herself, she was used to this and didn't find it odd as others might. She laid the book on her lap and looked forward to the wall for a moment. Then she took the open book and sat it upon her head. She closed her eyes and held up her arms from her sides, with her middle finger and her thumb she made an "O" shape and began to hum, Quinn had began to meditate.
Yani walked into the commons and inhaled deeply as she looked around. It's so cool! All of this green reminds me of trees and grass. She walked in and threw her stuff down on the nearest couch. Laughing, Yani ran through a pile of pillows to the flatscreen, tried to turn it on and frowned slightly when nothing happened, only to jump back in astonishment when it changed. "SO COOL!" She laughed again, grabbed her sketchbook and pencil case, and plopped down on the bed of pillows.
Yani had just got here but it already felt like home to her. Pulling out her pencil and eraser, she started drawing her surroundings.

Shanta's ears pricked. Well, wasn't that odd. Who on earth was downstairs? Pele was almost never in the common room; she was usually too busy blowing things up elsewhere in the school. And if End wasn't with her, then he was definitely with Muna somewhere else. Besides, it was a girl's voice.
Curiosity roused, Shanta put down her book and rolled onto Shashi. She adjusted herself properly, then flew down the stairs for a peek. There was a girl, and she was drawing. Shanta could only see the back of her head. Well, might as well introduce myself. Shanta cleared her throat, put on a smile, and said, "Hi! Are you one of the new students?"
Yani heard someone behind her ask if she was one of the new students and smiled."Hi, yup I am!" She threw her things down onto the pillows and sprung up to greet this new person. Yani waded through the sea of pillows and held out her hand to shake. "I'm Yani. It's nice to meet you. You have a pretty flying thing. What's your name?" Yani tilted her head with her normal smile still on her face. She had an urge to touch the girl's carpet but figured it would probably be rude without permission. It'd be like playing with someone's hair when you don't know them probably. Better keep your hands to yourself Yani. Yani nodded externally in agreement with her thoughts without noticing.

The second Yani turned, Shanta froze. She was so pretty. Shanta quickly shook herself out of it. You have a fiance! she told herself. "I'm Shanta, I'm a second year!" she said cheerfully, taking the hand and shaking it. It's so soft aaaaaah--"This is, um, Shashi, it's how I get around," she said, patting the carpet. She didn't really feel the need to add that it was her equivalent of a wheelchair; most students figured it out in time.
"Sorry, did I interrupt you?" she said, gesturing to the fallen sketchbook. "I just came down to see who was here, it's not like Janus has that many students."

[pssssshhhh it's fine, I should be studying for midterms myself :'D]
"Shanta? That's a really pretty name! And Shashi's a nice name too!" Yani's smile grew wider as they shook hands and she explained to Shanta that she had just been sketching so Shanta hadn't interupted her at all. Yani then placed her hand under her own chin after they were done shaking hands. With a quiet "hmm", Yani reached out with her other hand to touch Shashi, but at the last moment decided to wave her hand under it instead. "Shashi's really beautiful. It suits you," Yani cleared her throat, "Umm... How does Shashi work, if you don't mind me asking? I understand magick and all that, but does it have a mind of it's own or are you constantly controlling it? And by getting around you mean it's like the equilvalent of wings, right? Yani tilted her head as she looked at Shanta and ran her hand through her own bangs while thinking of what things she could draw for the next couple of weeks if she had the time. I wonder if Shanta would be okay with me drawing her sometime.
「Muna had chosen not to point out Pele as they walked towards the commons, and Pele had ignored them. Approaching the entrance of the commons with a vague feeling of foreboding, Muna looked up at the sight of the flames. They were about to go inside of there. Having to go through Justus while it was being set on fire was a surreal experience that couldn't even compare to actually walking into a burning building.
How good was End's improb? Was it even any good? Muna knew his boyfriend had not been doing so hot in his classes lately, so he couldn't help but feel a bit worried. Wait, weren't they going to have difficulty breathing, too? Muna stood for a moment, patting over his body for a moment before he remembered the silk ribbon tied around his waist. It was a pretty thing, and had cost him a lot, but Muna knew that even inside the improbs it would probably get really hot.
Summoning his scimitar for a second, Muna slashed the ribbon in half and turned around, holding up both pieces to End. Here, get these damp with vapor so we can put them over our mouths and or Tadion's or something He instructed, scimitar fading away as soon as it became unneeded. Muna considered End in front of him. I can improb us both and you can lead the way?
A slight throb in Muna's head notified him that Bijan wasn't exactly so keen on the idea of End leading them. The fairy didn't think End was the best person to be leading them anywhere they needed to get in and out of fast. 」

Eɴᴅʏᴍɪᴏɴ "Eɴᴅ" || Yᴇᴀʀ II || Janus ▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂ ▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂OOC: Y'ALL READY FOR THIS
End looked at his own dorm building as they approached. It was still burning, but from where he was standing there didn't seem to be any structural damage. It wasn't nearly as bad as the Tomas dorms, which had been reduced to pretty much nothing. "We should be.... alright..." he whispered. He gestured for Shashi to stay and hoped that the carpet would understand exactly what he meant. It was probably better if Shashi stayed out of danger. Shanta had just got Shashi back and he really didn't want to put Daksha's body- which was still laying on top of Shashi -in a position where it could get lost or destroyed, that seemed disrespectful.
End took both pieces of Muna's ribbon and got to work on dampening them. It was hard, the air was dry from the burning fires everywhere, but End seemed to manage it. "I don't think..." he started, the vapour coming from his mouth stopping and starting with every word. "That we have to worry about Tadion... he doesn't... Tadion doesn't... have a mouth at the mom--" And then there was a scream. Coming from in the dorms. Obviously panicked. Obviously in pain. Obviously needing to cough out smoke but just can't stop to do so.
End gave Muna a look. The kind of split second look of 'I'm going to help. If you follow I understand.' He tossed one of the ribbon's back to Muna, tied the other over his mouth and nose and dashed into the building. The fires inside were small, but there was a lot of smoke that was trapped inside, all trying to escape out the door as it opened. End pushed through. It was hard to make out anything inside but End managed to find his way to the stairs, mostly out of memory of the layout of the room. He rushed up the stairs to where the screams were coming from.
The boys' dorms. The screams were coming from the boys' dorms. End pushed his way in. The roof had broken away and light from outside streamed in. There wasn't much smoke in here because it all had a place to go, out through the roof. So End could see clearly. Tadion. Tadion, now with a face, now moving, screaming and grasping and tugging at something metal sticking out of his stomach. Tadion glanced at End with panicked golden eyes right before they flickered out and he went limp. No. No no no no no.
「 Muna was about to respond with an 'oh yeah', hands already raising until the sound of a scream reached his ears. He jerked, wondering first if there was some other Janus student inside before End's look registered in his head and the other half of the torn ribbon was tossed at him.
Well, it wasn't like he was not going to follow him.
Muna bounded in after End after tying his half of the ribbon around his mouth, putting an improb around himself just to be safe. He didn't know the layout of Janus quite as well as End did, and Bijan's half of the mental connection was thrumming with demands for Muna to put one up. Muna stumbled after End's shadow, squinting through the barrier of his own bubble before he finally reached the stairs.
It took him a few moments to catch up but Muna finally made it to the boy's dorms, following the sound of End's hurrying footsteps more than what he could make out through the smoke. Noticing the sudden lack of smoke Muna released his improb, almost running into End. Why was he just standing the--
Was End looking at Tadion's body? Wait--Tadion's body had a face!
Muna grabbed onto End's arm, jostling him slightly. Come on End, we have to levitate him out of here and hurry back, you levitate and I'll cast an improb around him
Wondering if there was even any point to hurrying but knowing that there could be the absolute slightest chance considering Tadion had regained his face, Muna approached the body and quickly cast an improb around it. 」
