Bio: Not much is known for sure about the life of Riley Dukane. Most of what is known is from hearsay and tall tales. It is said that he left his native Ireland after the death of his mother, and that he sailed from Dublin on a privateer vessel that was contracted to hunt down a wanted fugitive masquerading as captain of a whaling ship. The legend says the man wooed his mother and then squandered the family's money on drink and gambling, driving them into debt. After the man skipped town his mother's mental state deteriorated and finally collapsed after they were evicted from their home. She was admitted to an abusive asylum until her death. According to lore (and not denied by Red Riley himself) she made him swear on her death-bed to avenge their family. Riley was orphaned and searched for the man who drove his mother to death until his nineteenth birthday, when his step-father's ship was spotted out at sea. The tale says that before the two ships could engage, a gigantic whale attacked and sank both ships. The beast apparently swallowed Riley and his step-father whole. Alive inside the whale, Riley was assured that it was destiny that his step-father had survived, and they scuffled inside the monster with Riley emerging victorious. The details of his escape and his adventures up till now are sketchy at best, and one is better off asking Riley himself or one of his crew for details. All that is known is that Riley is one of the most infamous and feared pirates sailing the oceans. Despite his young age, he is a ruthless cut-throat and a fearless commander who's crew is loyal to the death.

Ship Bio: Named for her striking red sails, The Crimson Phoenix is the home of Red Riley and his crew. She was built in Amsterdam from ebony wood harvested from the jungles of southern India. Ebony is an iron wood that is very dense and tough, giving the Phoenix excellent armor without the need for excessive metal plating. Her cannons are a bit of a legend in their own right. Red Riley is known as the best marksman on the seas. He even has a special musket that can hit targets from incredible range. His ship follows suit, with cannons crafted by the legendary weapon smiths of Thailand. These cannons have superior range over European designs. Her most deadly feature are her four forward cannons who's barrels are nearly eight feet long, allowing her to deliver massive damage at long range with better accuracy than mortar shots.
