Makorra is DEAD! As far as canon goes! I know that scene at the end was meant to be sad, but I saw one of the worst fictional couples in history end...and I CELEBRATED! Drinks all around! mrgreen

I'm not a hardcore fan of Makorra, but I did feel sad about it. It was a pretty serious thing considering she's a teen, and I think it's another momentous event that will change Korra next season.

Whether they're good or bad remains to be seen. However, I'm just glad it ended. The love triangle crap is done! Hopefully. Maybe Korra will find someone else. Then again, with the end of Makorra, the writers will probably bullshit a way to bring Masami back together. Pretty much any pairing with Mako in it is horrible.

Mako is just a flimsy character when it comes to decisions about morality. emotion_facepalm I don't know why his personality is so flat in that department. Seriously. Make. Up. Your. MIND. emotion_donotwant If the story had been told differently and not like Friends, I think the romance could have worked out very well. They could have been like Suki and Sokka or maaaybe Aang and Katara.

They could have been like Suki and Sokka or maaaybe Aang and Katara. I know right! The most character driven decision he made in the romance department (ever...?) was picking his job over his girlfriend and what happens? Asami and he kiss, they're awkward about it, and instead of having a conversation or something they're just like, "We kissed! That must mean we're back together! That's how relationships work, right?" Seriously, I bet soap operas have better romance writing! gonk And to top it all off the b*****d COMPLETELY FAILS to mention he and Asami got back together to Korra! Why did Asami just death glare him?! Why didn't she SAY something?! Why didn't he?! *headdesk repeatedly* The rest of the plot got better once Beginnings rolled around, so why did the romance stuff still sound so rushed and slapped together?! crying I wonder if they'll introduce a new character for Korra, or if they'll just resurrect Borra. Yeah, Bolin said it was crush and he was over her, but considering the par of their romance writing lately.... crying burning_eyes

Bolin's romance was pretty bad, too, even considering that he was mostly a supporting character this season... Let's just say no to romance and get on with life among spirits. talk2hand

xD It's for the best. They have huge responsibilities, and this is just a distraction.

I agree.
But I do have to say, as much as Mako doesn't deserve anyone, Asami deserves to be happy. She's happy with Mako.
They're also teenagers, Mako and Bolin grew up as orphans. They especially wouldn't know how relationships work. Korra is the only one who has had a strong relationship to watch growing up and being the Avatar and as headstrong as she is, she wants to live up to her title but she also wants to be a normal teenager when her Avatar duties are on the back burner.
